Bryan you may have to take over the Mapreading class as well. I just realized that the Clemson vs. Wake Forest game is that weekend and I have 4 tickets.Tickets for Clemson home games are hard to come by and I got them from a SC friend for free.Sorry guys but I'm already out for this trip.

Well at least Clemson tickets are a slightly better excuse to miss a TT trip than dressing up for Harry Potter!

LOL, I have been up in the nose bleed seat at Death Valley before. Felt like I was about to fall to my death at any minute.

For what its worth, we bought two books and had a marathon read between 4 people. We were all fineshed by sunday night. I know I am lame but that was a good weekend. :)

About all I can identify are blackberries. Unfortunately, they will not be available in November, so I'll be no help in this area.

Euell Gibbons is deceased. His meter expired on the Dick Cavet show if I remember correctly. They went to a commercial break during which he was silent. He was not talkative after the break. The dude just cashed his chips in on the show. Not a bad way to go I guess. Apparently no pain. Just checked out.

Hmmm... The details of his death seem to be in dispute. I have seen two causes for his death and the place seems to vary. So I am not sure what the story is now. The Dick Cavet story above does not seem to appear anywhere. Maybe I just imagined it.

I am working on the agenda.

Knot tying
fire building
tarp/shelter setup
map reading
trauma stabilization (first aid)
cordage from plant material

What else?

The other area I can think of is a good review of ground signals when lost.

Added thought...
How about..
"Survival; thinking outside of the box...alternative uses for Backpacking Gear in a survival environment".

We all believe that dual use is a prime test for carrying a particular piece of gear, (i.e.; hiking poles used as tent poles). They also will make fine splints.

Tarps make fine shelters, they also have a use as a rain collection device...

I have an idea in mind for an added "Hip Pocket Training" class along these lines...should there be interest and time.
