Its Osama Obama.” 5:31:37 PM 3/05/07 “Tilt - I'm not on the fence. I totally agree with HPM's sentiments. I will also attest that Ped can also be a voice of reason. I may not agree with all of his philosophies, but he is one of the best at disagreeing without being disagreeable.” 5:47:11 PM 3/05/07 “screw you DH. just wanted to illustrate the whole "disagreeable" thing.” 5:48:35 PM 3/05/07 “well, I started to mention you as well when I wrote that, but screw you and the horse you rode in on 8)” 5:52:55 PM 3/05/07 “I disagree with that.” 5:56:20 PM 3/05/07 “Barak Osama...bad for slaves...bad for freedoms...bad for America.” 6:12:32 PM 3/05/07 “Who's your pony in this race, Nigella?” 6:16:18 PM 3/05/07 “Just for the record we should run the numbers sometime to see who actually gets more government handouts... Those on Welfare, or those who own stock in companies getting "corporate welfare". I remember how Uncle Sugar gave the California Raisin Growers $5 million to advertise the dancing raisins in Japan back in the 80s. Your Tax Dollars At Work -- no lie. They had a problem because the dancing raisins were scaring the Japanese children and they were going to study it to find out Why. And that's the smallest of small potatoes --- Can you imagine the aerospace sector's yearly take, in comparison? You can bet it's Astronomical. Perhaps one of the regulars here could get us up to speed on 'Son of Star Wars'. How much per missile has been spent? I remember numbers being thrown around in the range of $200 billion for ten years(?). I wonder what the profit margin is on a nuclear attack sub from our friends at Electric Boat. There really isn't a way to fight an international guerrilla war with submarines, unless you turn the Asian subcontinent into 'a sheet of glass'. I'm sure the folks over at Savannah River Site will be more than happy to supply the tritium. I was just reading how they're ramping up to go back into production as we speak. That's definitely not cheap. One other thing I find Truly amazing is the incredible gift the pharmaceutical industry received from the Republicans with that Medicare drug bill. If that isn't amended, the cost will be completely insane in just a short while. Then there is the Estate Tax issue. You can talk about 'principle' all you want, but if that isn't allowed to sunset, someone will be making up for the shortfall. That's going to be another insane amount. But this is all anecdotal --- we need hard numbers. Personally, I think the idle rich should come under every bit as much scrutiny as the idle poor.” 6:40:35 PM 3/05/07 “Tax loopholes and exemptions are not welfare though. But at the same time I want companies to pay their taxes. The only equitable solution is a flat tax with no loopholes.” 6:46:52 PM 3/05/07 “If anyone gets a break for whatever reason, that's still less money in the Treasury. It has to come from somewhere... or be borrowed. The effect is the same. There's talk of bringing back offsets. When legislators want to spend for something, they would have to take from some other program. Quite fiscally conservative and applauded by many (including Yours Truly), but it kills the crap out of pork-barrel spending and royally pisses off incumbent politicians. I do remember the Flat Tax debate when Forbes was running. If charitable contributions weren't deductible any longer, that was the beginning of a whole other fight --- ! And not being able to deduct mortgage interest? All heck broke lose. It seemed like once exceptions began to creep in, for this group, then that group, the whole thing folded... like BRAC, once politics crept into the process. The special bills were the ones that killed me, though. The Gallo family (of California jug-wine fame) had a great return on their investment. They spread about $2 million around DC and got a bill re: Estate Taxes passed just for them, shepherded through the Senate by Bob Dole (no less) at the height of his power. They paid out $2 million and got $102 million written off. I think it took less than a month, too. I thought that was quite a trick! That was one of the things that got me hooked on watching C-SPAN... I couldn't BELIEVE what I was seeing half the time. Stranger than Fiction and twice as ugly! *G*” 10:20:04 PM 3/05/07 “I knew I could count on Tilt. Taking a conversation on slavery and twisting it around to compare slavery with dancing raisins. You racist liberal.” 4:59:06 AM 3/06/07 “I hate the pork barrel spending too. I also hate the way they can backchannel funds without having to go get persmission. It's early and my brain can't think of the word for it.” 5:01:27 AM 3/06/07 “ + ”10:01:17 AM 3/06/07 “nice” 10:02:14 AM 3/06/07 “Question: What's with all these nut jobs mispronouncing the guy's name "Barack Osama"?” Tilt 5:26:40 PM 3/05/07 Maybe they would do better calling him by his middle name, Hussein. Hussein Osama has a familiar ring to it.” 8:28:09 PM 3/07/07 “I still say the epitome of helplessness is being the Special Agent in Charge of the SS detail if he starts pulling out ahead of Shrillery.” 7:17:47 AM 3/08/07 8:07:29 AM 3/08/07 “Anyone want to know why I was glad to see the Republican Bunch get their pants fried? If we could get all citizens to see the abuse of Government Armed Robber under the so called "pork spending" it might start changing things. The problem is we only look at what our congressmen BRING HOME. I would love to see a list each year of how much thier spending cost each of us....you know Congressman MUGWUMP is running for relection last year his votes cost each person in your family "X" dollars for discretionary spending.” 8:22:47 AM 3/08/07 “It didn't take long for Obama to have a melt down. What a light weight. Hillary will be laughing her way to the nomination with this bozo.” 3:06:59 PM 8/02/07 “No wait ... scratch that.” 6:41:24 PM 8/02/07 “GOD would you hate to be the Secret Service Agent incharge of his detail if he starts to LEAD Shrillery?” 4:54:16 AM 8/03/07 “He would be a wonderful target. (pause) Let me scratch that ...” 4:58:15 AM 8/03/07 “Sarge....I am not thinking of them I am thinking of the guys trying to DO their job and protect him......Hey if there are people willing to do the old "Vote For MR CLASS PRESIDENT" election...LOL...let em get the representation they want.” 5:16:16 AM 8/03/07 “Let's just take those voters out!!! (pause) Let me scratch that ...” 5:27:20 AM 8/03/07 “No wait ... scratch that.” Sarge 6:41:24 PM 8/02/07 EEEEWWWWWW Gross! Don't scratch Hillary” 6:45:36 AM 8/03/07 “EEEEWWWWW...LOL..I loved what a friend of my parents (this guy was a former Secret Service Agent)said. He said JIMUH was a complete A$$, Reagan was like your great Uncle, HW was okay, (barb was a hoot) but he said Clinton was like a drinking buddy, but HILLARY...was a t-total BEEEYOTCH.” 6:58:06 AM 8/03/07 “I'd like to scratch her ... No wait. Let me scratch that.” 7:02:09 AM 8/03/07 “ ”10:51:53 AM 8/03/07 “ ![]() last edited: 8/03/07 11:05:03 AM” 11:04:06 AM 8/03/07 “Was going to go to something else but I remember the story along time ago about the guy who had lost his job, his wife left him with the next door neighbor, his house was reposessed...and he decided to end it all so he drives to this bridge....As he is walking out on the bridge he looks down and sees this guy, a Thalidamide survivor with little tiny arms sticking out of his shirt dancing around on the beach are under the bridge. The guy thinks..."wow if he can be happy" I could always have it worse." So he goes down and approaches the guy who is still dancing....He stops the guy and says,"You know I was getting ready to kill myself until I saw you just dancing so happily down here...thank you." The guy looks at him and says,"F--- YOU....can you imagine what it is like to have jock itch?"” 11:56:49 AM 8/03/07 “OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO......that one is a stinker.....LOL” 12:15:51 PM 8/03/07 “This is the same democrat that: Wants unilateral military strikes against a sovereign country Wants to meet foreign dictators without preconditions Wants to use of U.S. troops in Waziristan Ruled out use of any Nukes under any circumstance Said "a victory of all Americans" when judge overturns a city ordinance prohibiting renting to those in the U.S. illegally ?” 12:57:39 PM 8/03/07 “Ruled out use of any Nukes under any circumstance Well, at least against civilians! LOL Wait, ... can I scratch that?” 1:30:04 PM 8/03/07 one comment he did not ask to be scratched “Obama stands by comments that angered Pakistan The Associated Press Aug. 5, 2007 09:57 PM ELKO, Nev. - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is standing by foreign policy comments that sparked anger in Pakistan and attacks from his opponents. Obama told a group in Nevada he didn't think he'd made a mistake in suggesting he would use military force in Pakistan if necessary to hunt down terrorists. He also sought to clarify his assertion that the use of nuclear weapons in such an attack would be "off the table." Obama says "every military expert" knows it would be better to use conventional weapons in that situation. Pakistan is considered a U.S. ally in the war on terrorism. The government of Pakistan last week branded Obama's comment "irresponsible" and protesters in Islamabad burned an American flag.” 9:35:20 AM 8/06/07 “This guy's in waaaaay over his head.” 10:11:44 AM 8/06/07 “They're all in over their heads, he's just the extreme. This whole mess needs some very unconventional solutions that certainly won't come from anyone in either stage lineup I've seen. Ron Paul is a definite indication that I'm not alone in those doubts.” 9:30:46 PM 8/06/07 “All he's saying is we should be non-interventionalists. His opinion isn't centered on any particular viewpoints he may have about Iraq or the middle east. He simply believes we should concentrate only on defending our immediate borders, no exceptions. I wouldn't read into it.” 9:40:03 PM 8/06/07 “Let me get this straight: Are you guys of the opinion that we shouldn't take the opportunity to kill Osama or other high level al Qaeda types if we get the chance? Really?!” 4:25:29 AM 8/07/07 “No, we are saying that Obama is not the guy to do it.” 4:49:00 AM 8/07/07 “ditto” 4:50:30 AM 8/07/07 “Yeah, you guys will stick with old dead-eye George who bragged about taking Osama dead or alive nearly six years ago. All hat, no cattle. last edited: 8/07/07 4:54:02 AM” 4:52:38 AM 8/07/07 “So, you think Osama is alive Violin? Just checking.” 5:00:06 AM 8/07/07 “Hate to tell you this, violin, but George isn't running again.” 8:20:29 AM 8/07/07 “Nobody is capable of getting us out of this mess without spending trillions and causing great embarrassment and major loss of world crediblity. As i've said before,'we have to stop thinking we're still living on a nice fresh piece of stolen indian property'.” 8:58:27 AM 8/07/07 “"Too much money?" ... "A bad reputation?" What about our children?” 9:06:06 AM 8/07/07 “All river, no paddle!” 9:18:45 AM 8/07/07 “with that attitude, yeah” 9:20:12 AM 8/07/07 Jump to Page << prev
