“Don't have a trader joes here, but I did pack some Other brand miso soup... Oh, bought the dried fish and squid today. Came back to the car and ugh... It doesnt smell so great. I might have to rethink this. :-/

When it comes to protein in the form of meat, I really like to be able to see what I'm buying..

“Lol I have one... But working so many hours lately... I am always dead tired in the evening. And dehydrating beef yourself... Not sure how safe it is for 21 days...

What else is there protein based I can dehydrate myself.

What day do you think you will be in Yosemite Valley and where are you staying until you get a permit?

I ask because the rangers will not let you stay in the BP camp unless you have a vaild permit. They check several times a day. I'm also considering driving up there to send you off.”

“I am landing in Santa Barbara on the 27th. I really want to be in Yosemite that night, so I can be first in line for the permit. I guess i'll stay in a nearby hotel... Shoot, i will sleep in front of the ranger station if needed...

“Gem - If you see this. If you are by Muir on the 10th and want a hot meal then you should hike to Florence Lake and take the Ferry to the Jackass Campground. I can cook you dinner. Then we can lounge over at the hotsprings. You can get back on trail with your resupply on the 11th. That way you don't have to wait for me to hike in on the 11th and possibly delay your trip. Just a tought.”
