Hikin' Mike's Progress

“Just passing along some info I recieved from Mike's Wife today...

"Michael,

This is Stacy (Mike's wife). He asked me to email you to let you know that his surgery had gone well. He is back from Stanford now. He is in a rehabilitation hospital about 10 minutes from our house. Not able to move around very much yet. I think he is supposed be there for a couple of weeks.

“That's good news!”

“Great news. I can't recall, did he have a knee replacement or a hip? Either way, tough stuff. I hope this gets him mobile again.”

“Excellent news!”

“Great. Looking for a quick recovery.”

“Knee replacement. Good luck Mike!”

“It was his knees wasn't it?

I hope he heals quickly and completely.”

“Great news, hope the recovery is speedy!”

“It was a knee replacement...they will only do one at a time...he has to have both replaced.”

“Great! Very happy for him...”

“tell him to conserve those pain pills. I have som Vic's & T3 leftovers. Maybe we could swap over the campfire someday?”

“He's been doing great and I'm sure he will continue on that track. Best thoughts with ya, Mike!”

“Just an FYI....
I spoke with Mike on the phone today...things are going well.
He just arrived back home today.

His left knee is still a source of pain....but the new right knee is much better and coming along nicely. So I think he is looking forward to the second surgery.

Mike said he would try to get online tomorrow or the next day.”

“Good deal, WW! Glad he's coming through well!”

“Things are going as well as can be expected. I've got to regain all the lost strength in my leg now. I'm scheduled to have my other knee replaced June 30 and hopefully I'll be walking again by September/October.

“Mike, I am glad you are looking forward to the other surgery. I always worry the first one will scare people away.

“Got plenty of Vicadin. I take it for the pain in my left knee.

Phil, I hope the second one goes as well as the first. I've got almost total 100% range of motion, it's just strength that I lack.”
