“MSU had the worse physics Dept. Out of the four semesters of physics I had to take, two of them were with a Dr. that could just barely speak English. I had to drop his course the first time. After I learned his version of English, I did fine.”

Communitcation was the key, they were all smart and hard workers but if they couldn't talk it didn't work. Certainly it wouldn't have been worth the added risk of discovery.
