I really want to say something witty here, but discretion is the better part of valor.

Lol, you boys...

It's still snowing here, and other than a jaunt around to look at snow on all the trees and land around us, and a stop at Firehouse subs for lunch, Laurel's been sledding in our back yard all day. She'll be one tired puppy tonight. It also looks like they're canceling school for tomorrow, too. Yikes!

Everything is coated with 1/4" or more of ice. Everything. HPM STILL had to go in to work (other side of the county) because no one told the peeps flying in from Philly for meetings that the business is shut down for the second day in a row. Nice. A Subaru slides around like mad on the ice, but handles better than a lot of others out there, except maybe the guy with the 3/4 ton van. That thing is remarkably solid in these conditions. It just breaks through the ice down to the pavement.

I'm at work and no bad weather here but at home my garden has just been brutilized by 1" sized hail :(

Also we hit a record high the 2nd day in a row, beating a 1922 record high of 92*.

And some lady in our town got blasted by lightning during the storm as she was closing a window in her house.

It's already 91 and the heat index is at 104. We're supposed to hit 97 this afternoon, probably while I'm waiting on Laurel to get out of violin lessons. Bleah! I saw Greensboro NC hit 99 yesterday. Yikes!

Everyone be careful!

ppl were dropping like flies yesterday around here from the heat. They even had to close beaches because people were getting sick so much and having to be taken to the hospital.

99 in Baltimore yesterday, 98 today. About 10 degrees cooler where I live north of the city. I love summer - seriously, I love it hot. June/July/Aug are my 3 favorite months of the year.

In 10% humidity, 98*F is a piece of cake with 5 knots of wind, it's not the heat it's the humidity and it's all because 'Gasistoodamnhigh',lol.

We've got 97 again today, with humidity at 94%. Icky sticky.

The high in Billings, Mt. is 51 today. I'd much rather be there.

Just gots to love global warming...incredible snow, rain with tornadoes in places where they normally don't have tornadoes, now the heat and humidity is already what we expect to have in August.

Turn down the AC and pump more CO2 into the atmosphere! Let's just get it over with...

Very odd tornado warnings coming through Eastern Massachusetts - an extreme rarity.

Now reports of several tornado related deaths in Western MA - sad and very unusual 'round here.

bad tornadoes :(

But....I love the heat & humidity is really not that big a deal everyone makes it out to be. I've lived in dry parts, and I live in humid parts now and it's really not that big a deal.

It never rains in southern California in June! What the hell?

At least we don't get tornadoes.

No tornadoes in California? We just had a tornado warning the other day. I grabbed my videocamera and my boy and we went looking for one.

Is it crazier weather or more cameras that expose. Are more building to hit the reason for more damage, be careful not to Goregate this weather.

Oh I was SOOOO excited tonight when I finially got a picture of what I thought was a twister from the 7 story windows where I work, facing calumet city. Unfortunaly it turned out to only be a funnel cloud. I sure wish I could figure out this dang gum device to move the picture to the internet to share. *Sigh*

the same funnel cloud I took a picture of made the news:

http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2011/06/15/tornado-spotted-in-calumet-city/ :)
They had called a code black at work so of course, I had to go up high to see if I could see a twister :). This was the best part of my day today.

Wowzers.

We had crazy high winds and light spitting rain Saturday evening. It was a lot of fun, getting to lean into the wind just like in a cat 1 hurricane.
