So this group of nuts we call "birthers" thinks Obama has something to hide in regard to his citizenship so they CONTINUE to ask for more and more birth information, and now there's this other group---lets not call them nuts just yet---who thinks Romney has something to hide so THE OBAMA CAMP continues to ask for more tax records???? Is that it? LMAO!! Isn't that kinda pathetic and, well, desperate? And Obama is supposedly winning? Why even bother? LOL!” 7:55:45 PM 8/17/12 “..but, but, but..word is out. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DLGWT_eMpFBk&v=LGWT_eMpFBk&gl=US” 3:42:30 AM 8/18/12 “Obama’s Secret College Transcripts http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/371727/20120808/obama-transcript-college-mitt-romney-tax-returns.htm The mainstream news media can't stop obsessing over Mitt Romney's tax returns. "Will he or won't he release them?" they keep asking. What terrible secrets are hidden among Romney's mortgage interest deductions and depreciation write-offs? Whatever it is, it probably spells doom for America, and that's why the media can't stop talking about it, right? Enlarge (Photo: Reuters) President Barack Obama and presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney have stepped up their attacks on each other in recent days. SHARE THIS STORY 11 Wrong. You wouldn't know it from all the media hype surrounding those precious 1040s, but Romney already has released his 2010 returns and promises to release his 2011 returns as soon as they are complete. All of the hullabaloo is over Romney's older returns, which undoubtedly show what we all already know: The guy has made tons of money and tried to pay as few taxes as possible. In other words, he's done what just about every businessman tries to do -- only he has been successful. The Democrats, of course, would use this information to portray Romney as an out-of-touch, over-privileged tax-cheat. Follow us MUST READ A Motorized Unicycle? The reason Democrats can't stop talking about Romney's tax returns is because, if they did, then they would have to start talking about America's floundering economy and President Barack Obama's catastrophic record. And for the left-wing media establishment, which is in no hurry to report news that reflects poorly on the president, it's much easier to distract people by creating a pointless fake controversy. Imagine what it would be like if the media turned its obsessive attention over to Obama for a change. This week, a former classmate of Obama's at Columbia University did just that. Wayne Allyn Root, a former libertarian vice presidential candidate and a fellow member of Columbia's class of '83, asked a very good question in an article this week: If the media is going to put pressure on Romney to release his tax returns, then why won't they put pressure on Obama to release his college transcripts? Obama refuses to release his academic records. Presumably that's because they don't reflect so well on the president. "My bet is that Obama will never unseal his records, because they contain information that could destroy his chances for reelection," Root writes. Root speculates that, for one thing, Obama's grades probably stunk. More intriguingly, he speculates that Obama (who in his early years went by the name Barry Soetoro) might have gained admission to Columbia by applying as a foreign exchange student. Although Obama was born in Hawaii, he spent much of his childhood in Indonesia. It's plausible that he could have claimed Indonesian nationality in order to gain an edge in admissions or special scholarship status as a foreign exchange student -- even though that would have been against the rules for him since he was an American citizen -- so went Root's speculation. If it turned out that Obama had fraudulently claimed to be a foreigner years ago, it would do nothing to quiet the birther conspiracy theorists, and it just might create a scandal big enough to cost Obama the election. Root, of course, has no proof to back up his suspicions about the national status Obama claimed on his Columbia application. But his greater point -- that Obama is refusing to release his college transcripts because they probably contain some kind of damaging information -- is a valid one. Maybe Obama was a major slacker in school, and he's just too embarrassed to show us how bad his grades were. It seems to me that the president's intelligence and diligence, as reflected in his academic records, are at least as important as his rival's financial history. Whatever the president's reasons are for hiding his records, the fact that the left-wing media is placing almost zero pressure on Obama to release them, while talking about Romney's old tax records week after week, shows just how little objectivity they have in covering this race.” 6:11:20 AM 8/18/12 “"Someone remind us again why Mittens needs to release his past tax forms---or more of them? Because Daddy-O was asked to release his birth certificate? Is there something we're looking for? Nonconformist Does this give you any clues?: http://articles.latimes.com/2009/oct/13/business/fi-swiss13 Whatever he's hiding must be pretty damaging because his campaign is being sunk by his refusal to release his returns. All we've seen to date is part of his 2010 return and a promise to release 2011 when they're done. His partial 2010 return shows that he has more than $100 million in an IRA. Maximum IRA contributions are $30,000 annually. How on Earth does someone accumulate more than $100 million unless they undervalue contributions in order to evade taxes? It also shows that he apparently closed his Swiss bank account in 2010, just after the IRS amnesty for reporting those accounts. Do you think its just a coincidence that he closed that account when it was no longer useful as a tax dodge? Where you born yesterday? If he reported the account in prior years, releasing those returns would erase doubt. The US Presidency is an immense responsibility and the American people have the right to know if a candidate for that office has conducted their affairs responsibly or if they are dishonest people who will get away with anything they can when they think no one is watching. I suggest you and the rest of the Taxers (sounds really dumb but than again so does Truthers and Birthers) gather up all of your evidence and non-evidence and simply have someone prosecute Romney. Willard's father made it a courtesy that Presidential candidate release 12 years of tax returns when he ran. It's become some what of a standard to do so. There is no law or rule that states one must do so; however, I do not understand why a person who is asking for the highest job in the land, cannot provide more information about who or what may be in his back pocket. It's an unfair and misguided equivocation to say that the left is screaming over Mitt's taxes because of the birther thing. In fact, it's a red herring. If there is nothing he is embarrassed about, release them. Obama did. Why not Mitt? Or Tommy Thompson, or some other GOPer's? What's the big deal? Ann Romney said that if they release any more taxes there would be too much ammo for "them" to go after Mitt. That's why he's not releasing them. The big deal is that Mrs. Romney said that there is a bunch of stuff in their taxes that will harm their chances at getting elected. THAT'S that story, folks. No matter how anyone else really wants to shift this conversation to other areas; Romney's returns are not going to be released because they are so damaging to him. It's a trend with a lot of TBers and other Republicans running for office. Obama's Budget to Add $4.4 Trillion to Debt in Next Four Years On track to $20 trillion in debt in 2016. 1:41 PM, AUG 23, 2012 • BY DANIEL HALPER http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/obamas-budget-add-44-trillion-debt-next-four-years_650614.html By the end of this year, the federal debt is expected to be $16.2 trillion, which is $6.2 trillion more than when President Obama first came into office four years ago. Moreover, new analysis by the Republican side of the Senate Budget Committee finds that, over the next 4 years, if Barack Obama remains president and his budget is enacted, $4.4 trillion will be added to the federal debt. Here's a chart illustrating the projected debt over the next four years: ![]() As the chart notes, staying on the same path will mean that debt is expected to hit $17.5 trillion in 2013, $18.5 trillion in 2014, $19.4 trillion in 2015, and $20.3 trillion in 2016. The last full year of Obama's presidency, if he is reelected, will be 2016. "Federal debt will increase to $25.4 trillion by the end of 2022, an increase of $10.6 trillion (72 percent) under the president’s budget policies," the Senate Budget Committee notes. It's been 1,212 since Senate Democrats brought a budget to the Senate floor. Isn't That So Weird” 9:03:32 PM 8/23/12 “Sorry, but the .... ahem ... Weekly Standard is far from a creditable source. Romney made his fortune here. Then he launched the political career that took him where he is today about to be anointed in Tampa as the Republican presidential nominee. To get to the point of acceptance in a party pitched sharply to the right, he renounced much of what he said he stood for when he first ran for office. He shed his Bay State political garments with the guilt-free ease of a practiced stripper. It wasn't gut-wrenching. It was strictly business. Because of that, there's a bitterness to his legacy in a state that has an outsized sense of its own importance and a no-compromise commitment to litmus-test liberal politics. Massachusetts was a means to an end for Romney. For other Bay State pols, Massachusetts is an end in itself even for those with eyes on the same prize as Romney. John Kerry lost his presidential bid, and eight years later, he's still in the Senate, hosting hearings for Massachusetts fishermen. Romney left office to run for president, and never looked back. Massachusetts may see him as a user and betrayer. But, like it or not, Massachusetts is where it all began for Romney. He earned law and business degrees at Harvard, raised a family in the Boston suburb of Belmont, and built a business at Bain. It was in Massachusetts that he began constructing and deconstructing the political persona that is hard because of all the shifting to pin down to this day. Romney lost a 1994 bid for Senate when he challenged the late Edward M. Kennedy, a Democratic icon. He came back from that defeat to win the only general election he has ever won, the one that made him governor of Kennedy Country. Romney's gubernatorial victory occurred in a state where Republicans account for only 12 percent of registered voters. His success back in 2002 is often attributed to the weakness of his Democratic challenger. But it was also a testament to a carefully calibrated centrist message that has a history of resonating with independent or unenrolled voters. Romney pitched fiscal conservatism, insisted that he supported Roe vs. Wade and let his campaign hand out fliers at a gay pride parade. In doing so, he tapped into a comfort zone with voters that helped a series of Republican candidates win the governor's office. Unlike his predecessors, Romney also attempted the thankless task of trying to rebuild the state's feeble Republican Party. To further the GOP cause in Massachusetts, Romney recruited more than 100 candidates to challenge Democratic legislators. When all those Republican candidates lost, Romney declared, "From now on, it's me-me-me." And from then on, it was. He proposed health care reform legislation because he believed it would bolster his national ambitions. For the same reason, he made a hard right turn on social issues. As he fought for credibility with Republican primary voters, he abandoned the middle ground on wedge issues like immigration and walked away from the health care reform act that Massachusetts Democrats still consider his major accomplishment. As a presidential candidate, Romney is unpopular in Massachusetts. According to the Real Clear Politics polling average, President Barack Obama leads Romney by 18 points in the Bay State. Compare that with polling data for Republican Sen. Scott Brown, whose race with Democrat Elizabeth Warren is considered a toss-up. In the state that Romney left behind, even Republicans use words like data-driven and soulless to describe him. Like Democrats, they respect Romney's intelligence, but detest his unabashed opportunism. They don't want to be quoted saying that, because he could be the next president. Romney's campaign headquarters is located in the North End, and the national press refers to "Boston" when official statements emanate from there. But from the Massachusetts perspective, there's little to connect Romney to the city on the hill, given the dominance of Democrats and the major role that Gov. Deval Patrick is playing in advancing Obama's re-election. Massachusetts is a place he passes through, not a place that calls him home. Yet for Romney, it could be the stepping stone to the White House that others before him have tried so hard to make it. Joan Vennochi writes for The Boston Globe.” 10:14:47 AM 8/24/12 “Myth the Secret Mormon had to do what even cock roaches can't or want, he crawled underneath the Donald's 'Comb-Over Birther Do'. Reporters Heard Planning Questions for Romney Before Presser * Posted on September 12, 2012 at 3:50pm by Becket Adams Becket Adams * Print » * Email » * * * * Comments (52) Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney during a press conference Wednesday issued a statement on the recent attacks on U.S. embassies in the Middle East and the White House’s handling of the situation. Afterwards, he took questions from members of the press. As noted by National Review Online, all but one of the questions asked of Gov. Romney had to do with his “tone” and/or whether he thought it was a good idea to criticize the administration’s initial response to the attack on the Cairo embassy. Not a single reporter asked Romney what he thinks the U.S. should do going forward. “[N]one of the questions asked Romney to give details or be more specific about what he thinks the United States should do,” NRO’s Katrina Trinko writes. “[T]oday’s press conference was really an example of how the media sometimes just doesn’t deserve [access to a presidential candidate]. Let political consultants talk about the timing and tone of the statement. The candidate should be grilled on policy, on issues, on what he thinks is the right course going forward, not politics and strategy,” she adds. Not long after writing that entry, The Right Scoop posted a video that appears to show that, yes, some of the reporters waiting to hear Gov. Romney’s statement on the embassy attacks coordinated their questions specifically to address his “tone” and his timing and not his policy: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/hot-mic-moment-reporters-heard-planning-questions-for-romney-before-presser/” 1:55:44 PM 9/12/12 “Yeah, because it really takes prompting from the eeeeevil iberal media to outline foreign policy. GOP leaders less critical than Mitt Romney in response to Libya attack. But no Republican leader criticized President Obama on Wednesday morning. They called instead for stronger security at U.S. diplomatic facilities, the swift capture and punishment of the perpetrators and a renewed commitment to pro-democracy efforts in the Arab world. Even Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.), Joseph I. Lieberman (I-Conn.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) a troika that regularly critiques the Obama administrations foreign policy urged Obama to continue supporting democracy efforts in Libya and Egypt. House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) said in a statement: We mourn for the families of our countrymen in Benghazi, and condemn this horrific attack. Eleven years after September 11, this is a jolting reminder that freedom remains under siege by forces around the globe who relish violence over free expression, and terror over democracy and that America and free people everywhere must remain vigilant in defense of our liberties. In the Senate, Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) usually reserves his morning Senate floor remarks to sharply criticize Obama administration policy. But Wednesday he struck a more somber tone and expressed support for employing every available tool at our disposal to ensure the safety of Americans overseas and to hunt down those responsible for these attacks. Among the things we can all agree on in Washington is that attacks on the U.S. and its representatives will be met with resolve, and that Americas presence and defense of our national interests across the globe will not be deterred by the acts of violent extremists, McConnell said.” 7:05:39 PM 9/12/12 “Funny? You don't sell out freedom of speech - one of the strongest pillars of Western freedom - to people who would kill over perceived slights to their skygod! Ever! You don't display a weak posture in that area of the world - period. Obama does well enough when he emulates Bush's foreign policy - and by emulate I mean stumbling along with out of sheer incompetence. Obama does not do so well when he is bowing and scraping like a clown. Whether or not Mitt f*cked up again, you first and foremost commit to the values directly threatened by those you face. You don't empower them by appeasing them!” 5:38:21 AM 9/13/12 “Who's appeasing? We kill militants Every day with drone strikes. That's been going on for years. He pulled us out of that Iraq #&%!$hole like he said he would. He's averted what was really lining up to be a mess in Pakistan thus far. He squelched a long know brutal dictator in Libya. He ordered the most wanted terrorist in the world assassinated and saw that through. Now there're battleships full of marines headed to Libya. You're right, Mutt. His foreign policy does reek like Bush's, and as such, I'd expect you guys to be rallying behind these actions like you did Shrub. Conveniently, Dood didn't address Mitt's complete lack of foreign level experience (whoops, national experience for that matter). But I don't blame you. Not really much to say there...” 6:13:26 AM 9/13/12 “Rosey, American clout has diminished under Obama. He is making the same mistake Bush made - perpetual war. You don't remain strong by actually fighting all the time. You remain strong by having the credible threat of fighting, anytime, anywhere, decisively. You guys always wring your hands about Iraq being such a disaster. Wrong! It was and still is Afghanistan! And Obama has added on to that in a big way by illegally intervening in Libya and then displaying a weak ass posture that resulted in an ACT OF WAR against us, for crying out loud. Pathetic leadership - absolute amateur hour. Don't make the mistake of thinking I loved all of Bush's policies. I simply disagree with you on what his mistakes were.” 6:38:44 AM 9/13/12 “Stratd00d, the US goverment has been financing folks in the Middle East for a long long time and will continue to do it.” 6:39:02 AM 9/13/12 “Sat what you want, Romney looked like the statesman, the Campeigner in Chief looks like Carter's apprentice...” 6:39:09 AM 9/13/12 “U.S. embassies attacked in Yemen, Egypt after Libya envoy killed What could possibly go wrong? http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/09/13/us-protests-idUSBRE88C0J320120913” 6:51:17 AM 9/13/12 “Who could have predicted this?!? Didn't we APOLOGIZE for offending them???” 6:54:56 AM 9/13/12 “I agree, Mutt. We shoulda pulled outta trashcanistan years ago. I disagreed with the surge. Gtfo. But I think his surgical strike approach of high value targets has been effective with little overhead and loss of American life that could have resulted from prolonged engagement. Obama says all troops home from Afghanistan by 2014. I believe him. What was that about RMoney and foreign policy, dood? *crickets*” 6:57:57 AM 9/13/12 Jump to Page << prev
