Anyone here a local or someone else know of a tasty place to breakfast around Gatlinburg? I kind-a hope for a bufet-type of setup. We've got a Shoney's BB here, and I guess tha'd do fine too.

anytime I have been to Gatlinburg the Pancake Pantry has always been packed. Get there early though. I have seen some long, long lines

Bennets barbeque on River Road has a nice breakfast buffet. Even a super finicky 3 year old liked it.

Also, the River Road pancake house has a good sit down type breakfast. It's huge, and all the servers are from Eastern Europe and Russia.

the Pancake Pnatry is "it!" As Ewker suggests, it is best to go early, 7-8 a.m., and beat the crowd. However, I don't recall any "bufet-type" service there. And is is a little expensive. I enjoy their "Swedish Pancakes with lingonberries." Also, I can second treebait's recommendation of Bennets barbeque. I enjoyed a lunch there with a charming, thru-hiker, young, girl, whom I met along the AT near Snake Den Ridge Trail.

Oooph -thaat's something I'd have to try a taste of before I go for a plate of them. Peanut butter pancakes reminds me of pumpkin beer.

A plate or two or three of cakes, a plate of eggs, a plate of bacon, sounds delicious. Now go eat!

I'll be there before the lines. Thanks for the tips.

Alas, the Rivet road pancake house is long gone. Theres a bus parked where the building used to be. We're currently stuck in a pancake house up Cherokee orchard road, but tomorrow we're going to Bennets instead.

Flapjacks is about as good as I have had. Log Cabin pancake just as you drive in Pigeon Forge from Gatlinburg is good as well.

the place we ended up yesterday morning had one of the best veggie omelets I've had in a while. We went to Flapjacks this morning; the blueberry pancakes were excellent, with fresh blueberries. Laurel had their french toast which was rather difficult to cut but tasted very good. Their veggie omelet, however, was insufferable. They used frozen diced green pepper, which while good for soups have an awful chewy texture in this application.
