Nonconformist, unfortunately, X-Men receieved Bs from yahoo critics and users. I say unfortunately because I don't like sci-fi pics and hubby does so I'll have to make a concession and go to this one. If the rating was real bad, I could always ask him to rent it which is what we do when we really don't want to see the same movies.

I watched Disney's "Eight Below" on the plane back from Miami last night and look forward to watching it again with my kids. It was a really good movie, I really enjoyed it. It got a bit corny at times, mostly the interaction between the dogs, but hey... it's a Disney thing.

Just saw Superman Returns (yesterday). Okay scale of 1-10...wait for the video. It runs pretty well (Kevin Spacey is FANTASTIC as Lex Luther) but it seems that the list 15 minutes or so (right after Superman saves the planet) the writers quit and they got the janitor to finish the script.

Spacey as Lex is the only thing that would make me want to see this movie. I just don't get into the Superman thing. I'm sick of all the media hype questioning Superman's sexuality too.

Nigal...I think Chris Reeve would have done a better job ...IN THE FREAKING WHEELCHAIR. This guy is so Hollywooded out. He's kinda like SUPER UN MAN.

I understand the weinie Hollywood types couldn't stomach the "Truth, Justice, and the American Way" thing so they chopped off "the American Way" so not to offend.

thats crap, stove. superman belongs to planet earth, not america. yes, kal-el lives and works in america, but he is protector of the world, and its indicative of the ethnocentric mindset of americans to think we have a right to say that he fights for us. removing "the american way" isnt mere pc-ism any more than calling indians "native americans" (seeing as how theyre not from india). it would be more PC to leave it IN so as to avoid the knee-jerk reactions from the right.

Yes, grasshopper, SM did say "the American Way" a few years ago before the UN took over PC comics.

but ANYWAYS, supes returns was good, not great. didnt wow me. i dont think that was brandon rouths fault. for me, the story was unspectacular. what made superman2 better than superman was that in 2, he was going against other super-powered beings. singer would do well to remember that if he makes the next movie in the series

No SS, Captain Multicultural Multi National Bi-lateral Internationalist is so righteous that he is A-sexual. He also makes the best chicken primavera known to mortal men (and women) and he is confident enough to have ruffles on his duvet cover on his bed.

The wife and I didn’t get to the concert we wanted to go to so we went to see Pirates of the Caribbean II in stead. Every bit as stunning and fast paced as the first one and Depp as Captain Sparrow was every bit as funny too. It was a bit long at an ass numbing 2 ˝ hours but the action never really slowed much. Overall a great movie worth seeing…until the end. Let’s just say there will be more ass numbing in my future.

Kids and I just watched "The Island" . First off, Scarlett Johansen, mmmmmmmmmmmmmm, yummy yummy, now there's a honey worth cloning.

We all liked this movie. Its both intelligent and action packed. Although people who just want an intelligent movie are pissed that it has so much action special effect, and people who just want to see #&%!$ blow up think the rest of it is boring. I thought it was all great. Of course, being a hollywood movie it does leave questions unanswered and takes a few shortcuts with reality.

I would recommend this highly.
