I heard an interview with the film maker on a podcast and rather than taking the "Look what we're doing to Mother Earth! Humans are evil!", approach, he takes the "Look where our food comes from and what the real cost of cheap food is.".

“anime is no different than regular cartoons in that what is made for kids can be pretty crappy. But you would be surprised at how good it can be done right. I am not much of an anime fan, but my kids are so I see a lot of it. We went to a local anime showing and the film selected was a movie about the life of a very popular poet who was a bit of a dissedent. It was like watching a Lifetime movie. Another showing we went to was of these two brothers who were orphaned and their life growing up in Japan during WWII. The fire bombing of his city was pretty neatly done.”

Spring and Chaos

Spring and Chaos is one of the most beautiful Animes ever created; deep and meaningful, provided the viewer is able to figure out what is going on in the story. Like Kenji Mayazama's writings, Spring and Chaos is very surreal, allegorical and abstract. Many viewers may have a hard time following the story, and thrill seeking Anime fans will definitely be put off.

“I had to take Abby to see "Bandslam" two nights ago. I dreaded it, but she realy wanted to go.
I was pleasantly surprised! It was a great story w/ an excellent soundtrack including velvet underground, and other favs. Totally appropriate for an 8 year old but had me laughing often and interested to see what happened next. 4 stars.”

White is considered a great guitarist which I think is based on his style and sound more than his technique and high level of skill. In the trailer Jack says he tricked the other two into meeting him so he could learn from them. No one, including Jack White is saying he's on the same level. to compare any of these three to each other is apples to oranges which makes it more interesting to me.”
