Dayhiking At Rainier (TR W/ Photos)

“Catzia, my son Ford and me daytripped up on the PCT North of Mt. Rainier on monday-doing a part of the PCT I have done a couple times.
We picked up the PCT at Chinook Pass, and headed up thru 2 gaps, where you can drop down to Upper Crystal Lake in MRNP. I love this area...and even though I have been there so many times I never tire of it :-)

Sheep Lake...which is pretty close to Hwy 410 on the PCT


On a knoll, looking at Mt. Rainier peeking, Crystal Peak to the right and waaaayyyy down there, a tiny bit of Upper Crystal Lake.


Back at Sheep Lake, we ate our lunch here...


On the way down, this is the view towards Eastern WA..looking down at The Rainier Fork of the American River..and one heck of a glacier created valley.
