The replicants in Blade Runner were genetically modified humans, not robots.

I don't remember enough about "Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?" to say whether the replicants in the book were robots or humans, though.

Duh! You're correct! Been too long since I've watched it.

Philip K. Dick, bit

I'm a science fiction fan. Are you a science fiction fan? What books?

Big into Niven, Heinlein, Asimov, and John Varley. Also like Harry Turtledove a lot, although most of his stuff is Alternative History, not SciFi. I've read some Dick, obviously, and it's good but depressing, same as Bradbury.

I'm currently reading the newest of the 'Ender's' Books.
The title escapes me at the moment.
The Battle School grads are grown up and back on Earth.

I've read most of that series. Are you talking the parallel series that Card is writing? I've got "Ender's Shadow" and "Shadow of the Hegemon" but that's it.

What was that movie about the android chick? Cherry 2000 or something? It was actually a good Sci Fi flick.

O. S. Card - Shadow of the Giant
Did a search and it jogged my memory.

I'm currently on a 'Card' kick. Been reading just about all his stuff over again.

Dang good deals for some signed hardbacks...

My wife doesn't understand re-reading a book. I must have re-read "Ringworld" 30 times by now. Sometimes I still pick up stuff I missed earlier.

I'd love to see Ringworld turned into a movie, but two problems:

A) Whoever made it would butcher it.

and

B) There would have to be a physics primer handed out with the tickets so that most people wouldn't be sitting there thinking "Huh?".

I love Niven's early work (RingWorld, etc.). I havn't been able to love his more recent works.

He's taken to writing with other authors a lot, and that has watered down his style some. I have enjoyed some of his more recent stuff.

I liked "Destiny's Road" a lot, the Beowulf books, and the "Smoke Ring" books. "Fallen Angels" wasn't as good.

I have a very old collection of Heinlein's works in paperback. From my teens, on, he was my fav. I must have at least 40 of his books. Poor things are falling apart now, they are almost 25-35 years old.

That's the problem with paperbacks; they fall apart even if you take pretty good care of them. My biggest problem is that most of my books are still in boxes, because I have no place to shelve them.
