I may be able to go but won't know for sure until later in the week because of work. I do know that I wouldn't be able to make it until Friday evening at the earliest and considering that the weather forecast is calling for Friday rain, Saturday morning would be more likely :)

Walkabout, I can't make it either but I know of a good hike for you. There is a 100 foot waterfall near the River. I've done it as a day hike but there are plenty more places to explore making this a worthwhile overnighter. There is one nice waterfall on the way then a 100 footer not far from there. Round trip is less than 10 miles.

Bama, thanks for the quick response on the site of the falls.Looks interesting but unless another person shows and wants to go into that area,I would be reluctant to hike there solo.Maybe another time when the "gang "is there.

I you wind up Solo you may want to do turkey foot falls. Its a very short hike to the falls but lots of exploring. Go to the south side of the river. Go under the bridge and a small creek will empty into sipsey. It don't look like much as there is a lot of sand here that asorbd the water. Anyway thurn and go up this creek, trust me after about a hundred yard there is a trail. Follow this creek to a bluff shelter. Pay attention to the rocks there, a surprise awaits. Continue up this creek out of the shelter is another surprise, you will wander, how in the world did a car get here. any continue a fork in the creek. there will be a waterfall there. There is another fall within a couple of hundred yards on the other part of the creek. I have stayed there at that area several times, great spot for a couple of tents. this is 3/4 of a mile from the th. There are several areas to explore. If you go on top of the first waterfall and bushwack back towards the river be careful as the last time ALA and I were there we ran into a few angry hornets.

Walkabout, there are a couple of waterfalls you will also see on the feedercreeks. when you get to the one I'm refering to you will know it. when you get to the second one you can climb to the trough and will find steps cut into the stone. These once held a waterwheel. It was a grismill. Another option if you don't want to double back is to climb out of the bluff on the north side. look at the bluff and you will see the only place you can get up. Trust me there is a trail up there. Follow it out to the road. Your less than 200 yards. Cross the road and you will fine another roadbed. Follow this roadbed until you find another roadbed turning to the north. Follow this and you will come out at a set of rapids on the Sipsey below the park. The scenery ain't as nice along the road bed but when you get to the river it gets better. Go upriver a short distance and you will be back at the TH.
Dangnapit wish I could make it.

With the rain we have had turkey foot will be a great trip. Its still doable in a downpour. There is a footlog to cross at the first fall if it don't get washed out.

Just thought I'd let yens know that the water level at the Borden crossing is currently at about 3 feet. Just in case Ya'll had decide to go up that way.
