The Empress’s New ClothesView Messages“Hillary’s getting all dressed up in her conservative camouflage in her bid to look like a centrist. First she flip flops on abortion and now this. What’s next? Joining the NRA? WASHINGTON New York Senator Hillary Clinton is calling for greater government and parental scrutiny of media children watch and play, saying kids are suffering from a "silent epidemic" from media sex and violence. At a forum today hosted by the Kaiser Family Foundation, the New York Democrat noted parental worries about the influence of violent video games, the Internet and sexually explicit television programs. Clinton said the public health is threatened by increasingly raw media content. Over time, she says, that media-driven desensitization teaches children -- quote -- "that it's OK to dis people because they're women or they're a different color or they're from a different place." The senator took direct aim at one popular video game, Grand Theft Auto, and its crime spree role-playing. She says it's a game that encourages players to have sex with and then murder prostitutes. http://www.wstm.com/Global/story.asp?S=3053246” 10:35:40 AM 3/10/05 “Yeah Nigal, liberals really do like to have sex with and then murder prostitutes........after they blow all their rent money on slot machines.” 11:57:14 AM 3/10/05 “How do people have money left over after being with Prostitutes..................dang! I never thought to take my money back after bludgeoning them!” 12:11:08 PM 3/10/05 “You're right! Have sex, then murder them, then rob their corpse and then blow it all on slot machines. And don't forget to go home and beat the crap outta the kids.” 12:13:28 PM 3/10/05 “You mean her kids, yes?” 12:16:22 PM 3/10/05 “LOL @ MarkO” 12:18:31 PM 3/10/05 “The only one's she's fooling are the people that will vote for her anyway.” 12:21:28 PM 3/10/05 “I voted for her, Stove. Are you calling me a fool? I thought you were Mr. Self-Righteous when it came to name calling!” 12:35:18 PM 3/10/05 “It's conservative to want government and parental scrutiny of what our kids are being sold? Wasn't it Tipper Gore's crusade that led to those 'explicit lyrics' labels? Face it Stovie - the Democrats have always been the party of 'family values'. The corporatists in the Republican party have just got you bamboozled while they pick your wallet. last edited: 3/10/05 12:37:53 PM” 12:37:09 PM 3/10/05 “I voted for her, Stove. Are you calling me a fool? I thought you were Mr. Self-Righteous when it came to name calling!” Treebeard 12:35:18 PM 3/10/05 lol@tree” 12:39:42 PM 3/10/05 ““The only one's she's fooling are the people that will vote for her anyway.” StoveStomper 12:21:28 PM 3/10/05 Read what I wrote treeman. Being fooled does not make one a fool. You are as bad as Ewker at putting words in my mouth.” 12:44:37 PM 3/10/05 “Ha Ha, at the Vileman!” 12:45:30 PM 3/10/05 “Equally insulting, Stovie. Have you ever been in New York State? Do you have any idea whether she's serving us well, Stovie? Screw you, then! You couldn't open your mind if you had a crowbar! Don't argue semantics. Instead of pre-occupying yourself with whatever you can possibly do to piss on other people who don't agree with you, use your time to shape what you say more effectively...” 12:48:29 PM 3/10/05 “You couldn't open your mind if you had a crowbar! - Treebeard. Be carefull, someone might hold up a mirror.” 12:51:44 PM 3/10/05 “Tree, are you dissing me because SS said your as bad as me.....sigh I didn't realize I put words in his mouth. If i did I would have him say other stuff than what he is saying...lol” 12:53:01 PM 3/10/05 “Oh, classic comeback. Let's just put it this way. When you don't know what you are talking about, save yourself the embarrassment of making yourself look stupid.” 12:53:12 PM 3/10/05 “Tree - Got any more names you want to call me? ;-) See, this is why I don't have bumper stickers on my car. Tree might run me off the road. ;-) last edited: 3/10/05 12:57:06 PM” 12:55:21 PM 3/10/05 “Just put him on "ignore", StoveStomper - I have. He obviously can't control his childish emotional outbursts. (Typical liberal!) Why put up with it?” 12:56:46 PM 3/10/05 “Maybe it's a parasite eating away at his brain. For being a staunch supporter of the people in power, he pays an awful lot of attention to those who's opinions obviously don't amount to much when it comes to power in this country. The tide has swung towards everything he believes in. But, still, he feels the need to denigrate everything and everyone he doesn't agree with, no matter whether the issue is important, moot or meaningless. Hey, that's pretty much how bullies operate, isn't it, Stovie. Take the weakest side of any person or situation and exploit the sh_t out of it! What a f_cking humanitarian! Do you pull the legs off little animals, too? last edited: 3/10/05 12:57:42 PM” 12:56:57 PM 3/10/05 “watch it Tree he is getting an itchy ignore finger” 12:57:57 PM 3/10/05 “You were not called one single name, BTW!” 12:58:39 PM 3/10/05 “Good! I see his protege posted something, too. Not going to bother opening it. Probably another right wing cut and paste, as usual...” 12:59:32 PM 3/10/05 “Why should "not having been to New York state" disqualify Stovie from having a comment, when it didn't even stop Hillary from getting elected to the Senate from there? :) Just playin' with you guys. Don't know why I even opened this thread....” 1:00:17 PM 3/10/05 “He didn't call you stupid he said you might look stupid. Sorry, someone had to do it. ;)” 1:00:44 PM 3/10/05 “Good point, but out of context, Fritz. I was referring to his obvious lack of knowledge concerning local issues here...” 1:01:23 PM 3/10/05 “Cat got yer tongue, Kev?” 1:02:20 PM 3/10/05 “Stovies motto: "No stone left unthrown."” 1:03:34 PM 3/10/05 “Just trying to inject a little levity. You guys all really should lighten up. Peace....” 1:04:10 PM 3/10/05 “Naw, Oryx, tree doesn't bother me. I don't think that other people that have an opinion other than my opinion are 'stupid'. They just have different opinions. That's the biggest difference I see between libs and conserves. The libs have to 'hate' anyone that disagrees with them. last edited: 3/10/05 1:06:13 PM” 1:04:37 PM 3/10/05 “The libs have to 'hate' anyone that disagrees with them.” StoveStomper Seriously, Stove. WHat the hell do you think your rhetoric is accomplishing? Read the above statement that you, yourself, wrote. It reeks of everything you complain of. (Sigh) We've been down this road before, my friend. You've been called out on it and you simply call "libs" haters and paste labels on all that don't agree... The more I write, the more I see I am banging my head against the wall trying to make you see this point.” 1:07:35 PM 3/10/05 “Actually I have traveled to New York. Even to the big apple. Hillary isn't just a 'local' issue. She wants to be the next pres.” 1:08:17 PM 3/10/05 “Oh God!!!, a liberal wants to be president. This proves they hate.” 1:09:44 PM 3/10/05 “I hate.” 1:10:39 PM 3/10/05 “Right now, "she" has never said anything of the kind. If the media wasn't manufacturing stories, this would be a non-issue. BTW, she is local as well as national. I am willing to bet you don't read half of what I read when it comes to what she is doing on a more localized level. And that's not necessarily a bad thing. I have no idea what your senators and local polis are doing down there, with the exception of the issues that get national attention.” 1:10:56 PM 3/10/05 “The libs have to 'hate' anyone that disagrees with them. Yes, they resort to emotions because when their worldview collapses under the weight of facts, emotional tantrums are their only refuge. Good point!” 1:11:32 PM 3/10/05 “Another cut and paste?” 1:12:03 PM 3/10/05 “Don't ya get it Tree, the right wing is now the political center? Everything else is Marxist. They win......woot-woot!!” 1:20:08 PM 3/10/05 “Ahhh, still another visit from ol Mutt. Geopolitical enlightenment in an age of darkness. I feel so lucky.” 1:22:26 PM 3/10/05 “I couldn't stand NY taxes so I moved to DC. I think I'm saving a couple of dollars a year.” 1:25:45 PM 3/10/05 “Actually, if Stovie had been following Hillary as carefully as he implies, he'd realize that Hillary is very popular in New York, even amoung Republicans. Get used to saying it Stovie: "President Hillary Rodham Clinton" Has a nice ring, doesn't it?” 1:26:39 PM 3/10/05 Hey Nigal, this fits right in with your first post “BUBBA'S BUSH BOOST A BIG HIT FOR THE MRS. BY DEBORAH ORIN INSIDE WASHINGTON -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- March 10, 2005 -- THE Oval Office love fest between Bill Clinton and President Bush showed Clinton masterfully doing his trademark triangulating — in a manner that could boost his wife, the presumptive 2008 presidential contender. When Bill Clinton snuggles up to Bush, he makes himself look like a centrist at the expense of fellow Democrats — who look more extremist by comparison in a new spin on the strategy known as triangulation when Clinton was president. That automatically and conveniently makes Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) look more centrist too. So there was Bill Clinton at Bush's side, volunteering that Iraq's elections "went better than anyone could have imagined" and warning against any demand that Bush set an exit timetable for Iraq — points sure to enrage liberal Dems. Given Bill Clinton's political savvy, it's hard to imagine this was accidental. Sure, he was going to be gracious as he showed up with Bush's dad to report on tsunami aid — but he didn't have to all but endorse Bush's Iraq strategy. And it nicely meshes with Hillary Clinton's sashays toward the center on issues like abortion, Iraq and even teaming up with Republican conservative Sens. Rick Santorum and Sam Brownback to seek a study of how electronic media impacts kids. The theory, some Dem strategists say, is that liberals are sure Hillary Clinton is one of their own so she can move to the center now without running much risk of challenge from the left in 2008 primaries. But that may be wrong. Because word from the grass roots is that liberals — now in control of the Democratic National Committee machinery with Howard Dean as DNC chair — are getting pretty riled by Hillary Clinton's move to the center. "I dread the prospect of a Clinton run," said New York Times columnist Paul Krugman — who speaks for the George Soros-Michael Moore wing of Democratic Bush-haters — on "Meet the Press" last Sunday. Why? Because he fears a return to "the politics of the '90s" and Clinton-style triangulation. And other Democratic activists say he's not alone — a growing number of left-wingers are edging toward an "anybody but Hillary" strategy.” 1:26:44 PM 3/10/05 “ALL candidates running for major political office try to hold centrist positions. Compassionate Conservatism ring any bells?” 1:29:32 PM 3/10/05 “So, if she works with the other party, you condemn her. If she doesn't, you condemn her. Great stance, Stovie. A lose-lose situation. I never really classified Bill Clinton as the classic "liberal". But, saying that he's cozying up to Bush for his wife's benefit is purely opinion...” 1:34:23 PM 3/10/05 “Ol' what's his name, you know, the Nov. failed candidate, was CENTER???? ;-)” 1:35:17 PM 3/10/05 “compassionate conservative is an oxymoron.” 1:37:04 PM 3/10/05 Out of left field! ““Ol' what's his name, you know, the Nov. failed candidate, was CENTER???? ;-)” StoveStomper 2:35:17 PM Say what??” 1:37:50 PM 3/10/05 “Okay, enough of Stoviebabble. I've got to take a work break.” 1:39:28 PM 3/10/05 ““ALL candidates running for major political office try to hold centrist positions. Compassionate Conservatism ring any bells?” y2 1:29:32 PM 3/10/05 ignore this user “Ol' what's his name, you know, the Nov. failed candidate, was CENTER???? ;-)” StoveStomper 1:35:17 PM 3/10/05” 1:39:56 PM 3/10/05 “Ok, Stove. I see where you were going. But, you took it out of context a bit...” 1:40:54 PM 3/10/05 “Why are fascist liberals so keen on censorship? Why oh why do they hate freedom so much? J/k” 2:38:10 PM 3/10/05
