ChicagoMark and WoundedKnee,

How does Thursday sound tentatively this week? Do you want to do a deli or soup place? Or a regular restaurant?

And anyone else who reads this is welcome to join us if you're going to be in town.

This has potential to turn into Happy Hour in Chicago eventually. ;)

Fine by me. Don't care what we eat. Where are you going to be Mark?

I have an appointment in the Loop Thursday morning--Washington and Wabash so Thursday works well for me. I'm easy as to where we eat.

Where will you be?

My office is on the corner of LaSalle and Madison, but I'm not sure where I'll be that day. It's usually in the financial district, almost always in the Loop.

Do you guys want to go somewhere like a Corner Bakery or would you prefer a restaurant?

Thanks so much for the invite!
Sorry, I will not be able to attend. ;-)

Wish I could though!

I can meet anywhere in the downtown area. (My schedule is rather flexible on Thursday).

I'm thinking something less formal--Corner Bakery or something like that.

Ok, I'm in. Can someone pick me up at the airport?

I have a job at 1:30, so 11:30 works for me.

That CB is very close to my office. I'm up for that. It's a good 8 blocks for WoundedKnee though. Is that going to be okay with you, Brian? Just so you know, you can't see it from the street. It's inside the building on the first floor.

If you want one closer to you, Bri, there's one on the corner of Wabash and Monroe.
Ruby

Hey Fritz! If you fly in, the train from the airport will take you to a stop right by my office. I'll pick you up there and we can walk over together. ;)
Ruby

Ha Ha Fritz!

This one is fine as well as the time. Do you know what building it is in?
Wounded Knee
11:43:09 AM

I don't remember off the top of my head, but I'm walking past it this afternoon so I'll check. It's on the SW corner of LaSalle and Monroe, across the street from the LaSalle Bank that was on fire a few weeks ago.
Ruby

Wounded Knee
I don't. Just suggested it because it was closer to Ruby's office.

Map Quest puts it on the West side of LaSalle, just SOUTH of Monroe.
ChicagoMark

That's exactly correct. Brian is walking I assume. How about Mark? It would be a shame to pay for parking. This is the heart of the financial district, and the garages are expensive.
Ruby

I am walking.

I will find it.
Wounded Knee
12:13:47 PM
1/11/05

I will be walking or taking the bus.

I will be waiting outside, unless the weather is nasty, but I think you will recognize me by the sign I'm holding. lol
ChicagoMark

Oh boy...a sign! We've seen that before. This should be good!

With my luck, you'll get a great shot of me just as I take a flying belly flop dive as I step onto the curb.

BTW Mark, since we haven't met, I am tall and will be wearing a long black winter coat and a black hat (and heels of course).

And Brian, I'm going to bring your bag back for you.

I just spent Monday and today in Chicago. I was at McCormick Place most of the time. When not there roaming around Rush St and Michigan. Had a fine time at Shaw's Crab House.

Hey Rubes, just look for the sign that Mark will have.
Wounded Knee

I've already printed the sign. I thought it was tame until a second look. But then no one does innuendo here.

BTW To help you, the sign has my name on it. (That's all I'm gonna say.) lol

We could go hiking to Daily's new park. What did he call it? The Billion dollar boondagle? No, Mill something. But it is nice for an afternoon stroll.

Your talking about Millennium Park, right? I work in the Prudential building, right outside. I will probably walk back to my office after lunch, through the park

FYI, its the Bank One building where we're meeting.
Ruby

Wounded Knee
When will you be leaving the Prudential building? My meeting is 2 blocks away. We could "hike" together to meet Ruby, unless you don't want to be seen with me wearing a sign. LOL
ChicagoMark
12:31:10 PM
1/12/05

Fine by me. I was thinking about 11 or so. Wwere is your meeting? I can meet you in front there or you can meet me at Prudential or we could meet in the middle of Michigan Ave.
Wounded Knee
12:35:26 PM
1/12/05

Are you going to wear the sign all the way over? LOL

I just was given two jobs in Indiana, at 9 and at 10:30. They won't take long, but I'm afraid there's no way I can make it by 11:30 now. I can probably get into the city by 11:45, and I will be parking at the Millenium parking garage. Which will put me close to the Prudential building.

At the risk of turning this into a clusterf**k, would you guys minded if we moved it to 11:45ish-12:00 and met somewhere over there? I'm thinking maybe Cosi's on Michigan Avenue, just a couple store fronts south of Monroe, or the Corner Bakery on the corner of Monroe and Wabash.

Sorry to be so damn difficult. But then, I am a woman. lol
Ruby
12:36:48 PM
1/12/05

I am Woman, hear me roar?

It almost sounds like this will work better. We can all meet in front of the Prudential building and go from there.

There is a number of sandwich places as well as other eateries in the area we could eat at.
