Hey John, I told you it was a good hike, didn't I? I did it as a dayhike last summer. Here's the link to my photos from that trip. Different time of year, different perspective.

Glad to see y'all gettin gout, even if it is with Sprinkle Boy!

LOL... I didn't think you would want us to get gout!

I'm wondering if most of the snow is gone from the Commanche Peak Wilderness Area???

An overnighter to Lost Lake sounds like a good idea.

Lawn Lake and Crystal Lakes TR
Hey Everyone!

We did a awesome hike this past Sunday in Rocky Mtn National Park!

Trailhead Elevation: 8,578'
Lawn Lake Elevation: 11,050'
Crystal Lakes Elevation 11,580'
Total Elevation Gained: 3,002'
Total Mileage Hiked: 15.5 Miles Roundtrip

We decided to hike from the Lawn Lake Trailhead to Lawn Lake which was 6.2 miles one way. Once we got to Lawn Lake we figured might as well hike the additional 1.5 miles to Crystal Lakes. If the weather hadn't turned we wanted to hike up to the Saddle which is a pass between Hague Peak and Mt Fairchild. At one point we reached a grassy meadow where we counted atleast 7 marmots! When we got up to Crystal Lakes some bitter weather blew in for about 15-30 minutes where we actually had to put on fleece gloves and hats.

We'll be heading back to the area next month to attempt a summit of Mummy Mtn and possible Hague Peak which are both over 13,000'!

Enjoy the pictures here!

Cool Pics, thanks for posting! If you're gonna post your trips & invite others you may hear from me! I'm doing a fair amount of biz in Colorado, and while I truly love my Sierra mtns here in CA, everytime I fly in I keep thinking I have to bring my pack next trip & hit the Rockies!

Wanderer: Colorado has a great place to do dayhikes. I would definitely atleast fit a dayhike in on your next trip.

Stikmon: Yes, it was a great hike. I think next I want to do a loop with a 2nd car parked down the Black Canyon Trail.

ENS: Buttkickers out here go over 10,000'! How does that sound?

Thanks for the kind words about the photos.

Looks like a lot less snow than just a week ago. Great pics- that area is quite fine. The snow wall up the Thumb looks less steep also. How much snow was there at Jasper?
