The tomato is native to South America. It was brought into Mexico by the Mayan. It was HOT!

my favorite hot sauce as a perfect blend of heat and taste is Red Rooster - just killer on fried chicken

Red Rooster? I haven't tried that one before. I'll keep an eye out for it.

In general, I like Crystal. I picked up some stuff in the Grenadines that is pretty amazing. A variety of harbanero sauces, including one with a homemade label that was sold in a reused 10 oz coke bottle. good stuff, even four years later...

I prefer to let hot sauces in general age a year or two before using them, when possible. The flavor is much, much better all around, and plays well with other flavors.

My table sauce is usually Louisiana Hot Sauce or Chahula. A smidgen of heat, but some flavor.

Melinda's makes some good sauces. The best however is what I make. Cayennes, vinegar, salt, garlic and triple sec.

Red Rooster - definitely doable.

I have before me, on this very table:
3 oz Grace Very Hot
6 oz Crystal Louisiana's Pure
5 oz Iguana Pretty Darn Hot Habanero
12 oz Trappeys Red Devil Cayenne
23 oz Franks Original Cayanne
4 oz El Yucateco Chile Habanero
And a plate of boneless fried chicken breasts.

OMG - this is gonna get ugly...

I remember seeing a movie where this guy was like an assassin or something, and he'd drink shots of hot sauce. Anybody know what I'm talking about? I can't remember anything else about it...

Given the impending move and my heroic efforts to get my trainee ready to take over this branch, I have switched to Sapphire martini's at home.

Straight gin sure makes a body sleep well at night.

is it wrong of me to secretly hike in one of those beer mini kegs on this weekend's backpacking trip, to pleasantly surprise my hiking mates?

You would be my hero! I was planning on sinking one in a stream that was near a road on one of my last hikes, then picking up for the last few miles.

Will always regret that

yeah, I'm expecting to be carried out on their shoulders like a championship-winning coach.

What would be even better (and by better, I mean worse) is if it was empty. I pull it out and say "guys, I brought a gift" and there's nothing in it.

Chances would be good that someone would need to carry me out... but not triumphantly

Trouble with caching in a stream is that some trail demon might snatch it - thinking it was left by an angel...

anyone every tried Potcheen? It's distilled from peat moss or something, tastes kinda like sour apples, and could probably make you go blind if you drank too much of it. But if you like peaty, this is where it's at

well, let me rephrase, it's like sour apple nail polish remover. It doesn't mix well either. It's worth the try just because it's so unique, but I don't really know about it. I guess it was illegal in Ireland for quite awhile for some reason

i've shot another vodka, but that's enough for now. really worried, will run out of clove cigars once i have my next smoke. *sigh* until the next pay check on the 1st. damn. when they were clove cigarettes before the fvcking liberals created a new law a pack contained 20 for the same price that a pack now contains 12. have i mentioned how much i hate liberals? they create stupid laws that annoy me.

Just got a cotisone shot in the left shoulder and the pain disappeared on the drive home. I'll have a Glenfiddich straight up and a Newcastle.

I had a great lunch (see the Rockburn thread) and I think I'll pop into my local (600 metres from home and people to drive me if I need it - where's Euro?).

I think I'll try a Glenmorangie and a pint (20 oz., remember) of Killkenny.

BTW, I have photos of Rockburn on my Facebook site - just use the e-mail address on my TT profile.
