Well hell, that's enough to make me curse and spit at the TV. Bush's new commercial where he drives to some place in Ohio, and hugs some 18 teenage girl.

Ashley Faulkner: "He's the most powerful man in the world, and all he wants to do is make sure I'm safe, and ok."

Bullspit.

I recently was told of a meeting Bush had with someone close to a TTer and it nearly moved me to tears. The meeting was 100% private. No press. Just him and a concerned family. The story is not mine to tell but I can say that the Bush portrayed in the ad actually IS the president Bush in real life.

People can say whatever they want about Bush but he is above anything else a man of compassion.

As I stated Treebeard, there was no press and no one else in the meeting. There was no opportunity to be gained from the meeting.

And he mentioned it in the debate??????

Like I said, an opportunist!

And I will abandon the 470 other reasons why I wouldn't vote for him, too!

Sorry, but this guy had his chance and blew it. You fail at your job and you get fired. It's happened to lots of us. Hope he gets over it on a nice long rest in Crawford. Otherwise, he can live and be well.

Nigal, I know of what you are speaking of BUT you cannot let that change your mind on what kind of job he has done. That meeting might not had to happen if we were told the truth to start with.

"You fail at your job and you get fired."

Why do you not apply the same standard to Kerry? 20 years in the Senate and he how many bills to show for it? Missing 75% of your commitee meetings? Yet Kerry gets a pass? How many votes has he missed in that time? If there are some great accomplishments in Kerry's career I'm not aware of I'd be happy to hear them.

Look, I never said Bush was a saint. I stated he is a compassionate man.

what past experience other than being Gov. of Tx for one term (?) did Bush have

Bush compassionate???

He's a psychopathic, sadistic megalomaniac.
Just ask Dr. Justin Frank of Washington, D.C.
He has analyzed the fool.

"The meeting was 100% private. No press. Just him and a concerned family."

And HOW did we hear of this?
THE PRESS/MEDIA!!!!!

It's BS porpaganda.

I have heard the same stuff Nigal has heard from people who have had chance meetings with Bush. Bush is the real thing, a man of compassion.

Kerry is the ultimate opportunist, changing his position depending on his audience or how he would look in the polls. That is no way to act as Commander-in-Chief at a time of war.

MarkO, the meeting Bush had with this person was private, no press at all and I know how Nigal knows about it.

But like I said that one meeting cannot change your mind on what Bush has done.

I just have a problem with the commercial. I don't care who did it. If I made a commercial like that, you guys would say the same.

You just don't jerk at heartstrings like that on national TV.. I'm sorry -- that's my opinion.

I think it solidifies my feelings on him.

First off, Kerry was never in the job he is running for. You can state all the crap you want about his record. He still never held the job. Bush did. Bush failed on many counts.

Kerry is the candidate that is now the closest I have to vote for to achieve change. I never said he was my perfect #1 choice. But, I do not have the luxury of the whole field of American leaders that I can just pick and choose from. Bush constantly tells us that this is a post 9/11 world. Yet, he is constantly bringing up 20 years of senate votes. We have simply not been a post 9/11 world for nearly that length of time. Do you understand why I feel my chain is being somewhat yanked there?

He also won't admit that there is even the remotest area of his presidnency that could use a little alteration. Just a little tweaking of policy. Not one word has been said by this administration as to what they could do to improve ANYTHING! No! He simply won't admit that ANYTHING went awry in the past four years. Sorry, but I have never seen a perfect presidency (until this one, I am told) in my life. Just doesn't happen. Once again, I am feeling that yank on my chain!

I am not giving out passes here. Just a citzen concerned about the state of this country. I feel the past four years have not served us well. I am voting on the hope that perhaps some new blood may just be able to start the trend in a different direction. I do not know the outcome, despite the fact that the "seers" on here seem to know exactly what will happen under a Kerry presidency. I profess to not know that. But, I do know one thing. I am not giving the status quo another chance with my vote. They blew it! Period!

It was a private meeting but it was shared with the public by way of.......wait for it...........the media/press/internet/public forum.

I talked to someone who worked on "something" at Bill and Hillary's house in NW Washington.
He said they were a riot, funny as hell and real warm people.

So there!

Hell Mark, I bet Bill is one of the coolest guys to hang out with. He's funny, charasmatic and very personable. That is clear.

BTW- one little detail that has not been shared about this gross, sappy, opportunistic ad. It's not Bush's ad. It's by a 520 group. So all the playa hatin' is a waste of energy.

Don't even start Nigal. Who cares who is actually sponsoring the ad? Please help me understand that. I'm just saying.. it does not matter WHO the ad is about. What if it was a Guilani ad. It still would matter. I have GREAT respect for Guilani, but if he allowed an ad like that to run, I'd be ashamed i knew him.

"Who cares who is actually sponsoring the ad?"

It's important because you started a thread called "Bush's New commercial" in order to cast him in a bad light. It's a bit disingenuous to lay the conent of the ad at Bush's feet when he didn't even approve the ad. He has as much to do with this ad as he does with the Swiftboat Vets Who Can't Swim ads.

“First off, Kerry was never in the job he is running for. You can state all the crap you want about his record. He still never held the job. Bush did. Bush failed on many counts."

A politician's prior record in politics don't matter in an election? Why don't we have plumbers and teachers running then?

My purpose for posting on this thread was not why or why not to vote for whomever. Your mind is made up as is mine and that's fine. But to try to even add to this is a waste of both our time. Politics is the new religion in America and I'm to the point now that I'd prefer to just say, "November 2nd pull the lever and shut the phuck up for another 1579 days until you pull it the next time.".

I'm much more inclined to go on the assumption that people are smart enough to make up their own minds than to go on the assumption that Average Joe is too dumb and need help making the decision.

I don't like the 520 ads either Secret. But the disclaimer on the official ads does seperate the wheat from the chaff. It's good to know when the kooks run their ads that it's not actually one of the cantidate's ads. And I do agree with you that the ad is over the top and no ad can give a canticate the appearance of personability.

You do seem to have a good bullchit filter when it comes to the media. I was just wanting to clearify where the ad actually came from.

Nigal, I know it wouldn't change your opinion because you have liked Bush from the start.
It did change someone else's opinion though. I just think there should be more to it than that to vote for the man.

I respect that person's opinion also. You have to do what you think is right.

Everyone has there own ideas on who is right and who is wrong. You have to go with your own beliefs on which person is the right one for the job.

I saw a really good article on that the other day. The writer was talking about how when you ask Bush anything lately as to how do you know, he just says something to the effect of "I just know it in my heart."

LOL.

Whatever dude, I didn't realize you had such a GOD complex.

Which was the essence of the article -- Bush's infatuation with the 'gospel truth'.
