Will Fox Fans Bomb The Other News Media?View MessagesViewing posts 1 to 31 of 31 messages posted.
“Convention Worries Officials Play Down Media Threat, But Concerned About Neo-Nazis By Jason Ryan and Richard Esposito July 23, 2004— Law enforcement officials are playing down an FBI report warning that domestic terrorists might attack media vehicles at the Democratic National Convention in Boston next week. Federal and state sources told ABC News that officials coordinating and implementing security for the convention have little, if any, concern about such an attack. The unnamed domestic group whose statements triggered the FBI warning is made up of college-age members based in the Midwest, sources told ABC News. The group's members are still in the Midwest and have not traveled to Boston, officials believe. However, ABC News has learned that there is a very real concern among security officials in Boston including the local Joint Terrorism Task Force, the U.S. Secret Service and the Boston Police Department — about the possibility of violent action by white supremacist groups. Jeezuz…” 7:40:56 AM 7/24/04 “Oh, Not At All... I'd never say all of those Roger Ailes aficionados were Nazis.... but wouldn't Nazis be Fox fans? (it's like the relationship between squares and rectangles) If CNN and the media in general are half as Liberal as you folks are Always saying.... It only stands to reason. What self-respecting skinhead would be caught watching Aaron Brown?” 7:55:18 AM 7/24/04 “It only serves to make you look like an extremist because you are making it sound like Fox caters and propagates the skinhead movement. What the hell makes ya think skin heads are even watching any news or even staying informed through the mainstream media? That's idiotic dude. They have their own outlets they use because as we all know the dirty Jews own everything including the media. Sheesh, where you been? LOL!” 8:01:28 AM 7/24/04 “So, let me get this straight. I'm a Nazi because I like Fox and Friends, Bill O'Reilly, Greta, Tony, Judge Napalitano and crew? Neil Cavuto too?” 8:10:56 AM 7/24/04 “That all depends pathman. Are we talking pre-facelift Greta or post-facelift Greta? Only the true nazis were pre-facelift fans. The post-facelift fans are just bandwagon jumpin' nazis. LOL!” 8:17:04 AM 7/24/04 “If larry king is bombed his hair will live on to carry his legacy.” 8:24:29 AM 7/24/04 “One More Time For The West Coast: It's the square-rectangle thing: all squares are rectangles but not all rectangles are squares. You can't have it both ways, though: Is Fox favored by skinheads or is "the news media" Liberal?” 9:09:32 AM 7/24/04 “Is conservative Nazi? Is liberal Communist? Is CNN favored by anarchists? Is Fox favored by skin heads? I'm no skinhead, I'm not even that conservative, but Aaron Brown puts me to sleep. ;-)” 9:21:03 AM 7/24/04 “Yes. Nazis on the right, Communists on the left. That part is fairly simple. I am a Liberal (or at least More Liberal on issues that constitute the current political morass). And I can freely admit that Communists and Socialists are on the Left end of the spectrum. But the Fascists, the Nazis and the Militias are orphans of the so-called Right. It's disingenuous at best.” 9:34:26 AM 7/24/04 “My analogy was weak. It should have been Stalinists on the left. Communists don't necessarily carry out pogroms and build Gulags. And weren't Nazi's originally National Socialists, commandeered by a fascist? I'm not sure fascism=right. I'm not sure I buy that this is rectangle and squares. I think it may be more Venn diagrams. ;-) Yawn. Sorry Tilt, back to ignoring these threads for me. I listen to a lot of politics, right and left but don't particularly like debate myself.” 9:55:59 AM 7/24/04 “Not the Dreaded Venn Diagrams!! LOL (is that an 'exclusive or' or just a 'regular or'?) How about some flowcharts instead? <G> And did you know that Lyra is a parallelogram?” 12:00:08 PM 7/24/04 “Know what you mean Pathman. I actually enjoy political debate, I think it's interesting (and sometimes illuminating) to learn why some people think as they do. Sometimes one can even change their opinion based upon some fact or viewpoint they pick up from a debate. Having said that, these don't ever seem to be debates on this forum. They are shouting exchanges between radicals, some of the left, some of the right. I'm a dumba$$, keep allowing myself to get involved, because I love good debate so much, only to become extremely frustrated by the lack of civility or logical thought processes exhibited here by so many. Bottom Line: They don't want to debate, they want to push their agenda. Heaven forbid they consider another perspective!” 1:07:43 PM 7/24/04 “But then again tilt, Fox would be too far left for skinheads anyhow. Just own up to your own extremism here. You stretch yourself paper thin in this way.” 2:15:03 PM 7/24/04 “"Fascism, which was not afraid to call itself reactionary... does not hesitate to call itself illiberal and anti-liberal." - Benito Mussolini Here are some aspects of the concept of fascism. I have added comment in bold. "Fascism and Nazism as ideologies involve, to varying degrees, some of the following hallmarks: *** Nationalism and super-patriotism with a sense of historic mission. - Bush's mission of defeating terrorism and the moralizing of America have led many of his pundits to paint opponants to thier mission as "unpatriotic" and "evil". *** Aggressive militarism even to the extent of glorifying war as good for the national or individual spirit. I think it's safe to say that the current admin. is all about agressive militarism. *** Use of violence or threats of violence to impose views on others (fascism and Nazism both employed street violence and state violence at different moments in their development). Nothing major like this has happened yet, but we shall see what happens when and if massive protests ever take place during a repub admin. Some of the laws protecting our rights have already been appealed, so the Bushies can try to justify any violence as legal (see Patriot Act). *** Authoritarian reliance on a leader or elite not constitutionally responsible to an electorate. When a party disenfrancises voters in order to attain office, then makes statements like "Here we have the have's and have mores.....I call you my base.", That party is being responsible to a fiscally elite group, not the electorate as a whole, and all this at the expense of the constitution. *** Cult of personality around a charismatic leader. Take a look at some of the defenders of Bush, and how Reagan is almost worshipped by the Republicans. *** Reaction against the values of Modernism, usually with emotional attacks against both liberalism and communism. Listen to Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, and read some of the posts from some of the republicans on this board. *** Exhortations for the homogeneous masses of common folk (Volkish in German, Populist in the U.S.) to join voluntarily in a heroic mission_often metaphysical and romanticized in character. See War on Terror *** Dehumanization and scapegoating of the enemy_seeing the enemy as an inferior or subhuman force, perhaps involved in a conspiracy that justifies eradicating them. see repealing of Geneva rules, Abu Garib, etc. *** The self image of being a superior form of social organization beyond socialism, capitalism and democracy. Elitism runs rampant in Republican Ideology, see Bush quote on "haves and have mores". *** Elements of national socialist ideological roots, for example, ostensible support for the industrial working class or farmers; but ultimately, the forging of an alliance with an elite sector of society. The republicans certainly pretend to be for the working class, yet as has been demonstrated on many occasions on this board, the numbers don't support that fact. I doubt any will argue that the fiscally elite sector of society are in bed with republicans. *** Abandonment of any consistent ideology in a drive for state power. This is very debatable, however, societies have changed since Germany, Italy and Spain were ruled under fascist regimes. I believe that the republican ideology tries to subvert or enhance state power based on how it will benefit thier power or ideology as a whole. (i.e. passing of No Child Left Behind is a federal law, but power to fund it is in state hands. If the states can't or refuse to fund the program, other areas will be cut, diminishing the product of education at the public level, and ultimetly opening the doors for privatization of that industry ((which is a huge republican goal))). Source: Chip Berlet, 1992 AM I saying that the republican party are actually fascists in disguise. No. What I am saying though is that you can certainly make a legitimate arguement that they have major fascist tendencies, and that if the trend continues, the arguement will be mush easier to make.” 4:09:48 PM 7/24/04 “Oh, BTW, Pathman, there is nothing "liberal" about fascism.... see quote from Mussolini.” 4:14:36 PM 7/24/04 “And they tie their shoelaces in little knotsies.” 4:16:04 PM 7/24/04 “What's green and fly's over Crawford, Texas? Snotzies.” 4:20:48 PM 7/24/04 “Was that really necessary? LOL” 4:23:43 PM 7/24/04 “(IsraelNN.com) Saudi Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal has purchased 5.46 percent of the Fox corporation, according to Gulf Daily News, raising concern that the conservative Fox News may soften its anti-terror stance due to the views of the new shareholder. Al-Waleed, the nephew of the late Saudi King Fahd, was in the news when he visited the World Trade Center's remains just after the September 11th attacks and offered then-New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani a $10 million check for relief efforts. Al-Waleed then released a statement blaming US foreign policy and support for Israel for the attacks. Giuliani returned the prince's check with a statement that, "There is no moral equivalent for this attack. The people who did it lost any right to ask for justification when they slaughtered . . . innocent people ... Not only are those statements wrong, they're part of the problem." http://www.israelnationalnews.com/news.php3?id=90439” 11:50:17 AM 9/26/05 “What the hell are you doing reading Arutz Sheva?” 12:38:54 PM 9/26/05 “"Fox News may soften its anti-terror stance" Very telling. I suppose the other networks have a pro-terror stance.” 12:40:03 PM 9/26/05 “LMFAO! I just watched the last 20 minutes of Keith Olbermann on MSNBC.....is this guy XXXX's twin or what? LOL! Like XXXX, this guy makes a ridiculous Kool-Aid induced rant then proceeds himself to do exactly what he was railing against while his party does the same thing! Does he even listen to what he's spewing? What an embarrassment of a "broadcaster" and what an embarrassing network! There's enough hate and lies and arrogance flying out of Olbermanns piehole to make a KKK member blush, lol.” 6:15:06 PM 10/20/08 “Correction: I doubt that it's possible for anyone to make MSNBC a bigger embarrassment than they already are. They're quite the laughingstock.” 6:26:01 PM 10/20/08 “ Now THIS was One Funny Thread! ” 6:28:21 PM 10/20/08 “I love it when he uses blogs as sources. LOL! But hey, the loony left loves getting their political views from comedians...why not washed up sports casters to?” 6:33:22 PM 10/20/08 “Yeah, I should've copied the whole story. The rest of it is long gone now. How About those "college age neo-nazis from the Midwest"? Don't they call Ohio 'the Midwest'.... like from the Olden Days? LOL I always thought some place like Missouri was the 'Midwest'..... like where Stewie hangs out, cursing under his breath about Christians all day long and cleaning his guns on the weekend. ” 6:47:52 PM 10/20/08 “Wtf are you babbling about? Can I get an interpreter here? Maybe saleboard can figure out what you're trying to say.” 6:53:43 PM 10/20/08 “tiltTiltBLAM is a fool.” 7:02:15 PM 10/20/08 “Crank up the Pat Travers.” 7:15:43 PM 10/20/08
