What Weekend Works for You

“I will be hiking on this trip regardless of the weather. Some may remember the last experience. Too much rain!

OK folks, I need an idea of when you can make this trip. Weekends are as follows.

3-5
10-12
17-19
24-26

I am thinking more torwards the last 2 sets of dates. I will be taking Thursday and Friday off for this. Plan on car camping at the headquarters campground Thursday and then meeting up Friday around 9 or so.

I will have more info to post, but if anyone has general questions, please ask.”

Did I mention Mammoth Cave National Park? OK, so I am a little slow this morning. Just getting some coffee into my system now so give me 30 minutes.

So the trip is to Mammoth Cave for a couple days”

“A month would be good.

Mammoth is only about 4 hours from me, so it's very doable. I heard it gets kinda dry in the summer though.”

“Yes. The coffee is starting to kick in now.

OK, so the trip in in September.

Anything else I left out?”

“The 31st and 32nd works best for me.”

“I would prefer 10-12. Yep. That's my vote.”

“It could still be hot in September, but I'm up for it. We do need to get this settled soon, so I can plan the weekend before my wife does.

I'd prefer the 10-12 or 24-26.”

“The 10-12 is not going to work for me. I will be in Memphis on the 9th with the wife.

It looks like 24-26 may work.”

“The later it is, the cooler it will be. Wetter, too.”

“Good Hub! It sounds like that is the weekend the trip will be. I have to get the OK from work and wife, neither should be a problem.”

“If I wasn't going to be out of town on business that weekend I might give this one a try. If it's 4 hrs from bit then it's 6 hrs from me. I'll be in New Orleans that weekend. Dang.”

“I am game for any weekend you pick. It is a 1.5 hr drive for me. I can work all day Friday and still be there by 8:00 pm”

“Might be able to make it, that would be a weekennd off for me. However I dont know it I would be able to get there thursday as I work from 3-11:30 in the Pm. If I also have that friday off (Which it seems I will) then perhaps I can still make it. Will have wait to see.”

“Ruby, if Moose-a-palooza is moved to Sept. 19th-24th, won't that conflict with this trip? I want to do both, so I'm wrestling with this issue.”

“Sorry, I'm going to bale on this one again. I'm going on the Isle Royal trip the week before and won't be back in time. :( I s'pose Mammoth Caves aren't going anywhere.”

Just kidding. If I could swing all that time off I would join you. I want to be able to take some time off after Barbie gives birth.”
