Backpack in Arizona?
I'm new here....
I'm from Germany and stay in Nebraska right now. In a few weeks (before I\'ll go back to Germany) I wanna go to Arizona for 4 weeks.... among other thinhs I\'d love to go backpacking through the national parks and grand canyon. But my backpack is in Germany and a new one would be really expensive (I\'m only a student and don\'t have mone *lol*) is here somebody from Arizona (Phoenix would be great - becuase it\'s my arrival town) who would be willing to lend me his\'/hers?
Would be great.
“yall want me to "talk" german to her to test? LOL”

“Ja aber hallo Jasmin,

“Hey bearmagnet, did you meanIch sprache nur ein bichen auf Deutsch?

“mein Deutchse es scheizel!”
“That's really nice that you all try to talk in German... but I think me English is a bit better than your German... @ least I've been told it's not that bad :-)

“Check back, and post something if only a "bump" to push the thread back to the top. Gemini vouching for you will guarantee that somebody out west on that time zone will help you out.
Enjoy the visit, I'd love to go hang out in the West someday, did New Mexico as a teenager, it was awesome.”
“or...teach me german and take me back with you...”
“Not able to tell if this post is serious, but assuming it is check out the REI in Tempe. They rent packs, sleeping bags, and tents should you find no takers on your request and yourself short on gear in the states.
“Ich bin der Chrome Dinette”
“and stay away from shep!! he's dangerous!!!”
“(kicks on "bad to the bone")”
“Don't Muddy the Waters, shep.
Look here, Guy, be a Buddy, huh?
Be Good and Thorough, now!
And don't be Howlin' like a Wolf at them chicks.”
“lol...well if i do all that im gonna need 1 bourbon 1 scotch and 1 beer...just to ya know help me concentrate...”
“Phantom - that might be it. I took 3yrs HS German. All I remember is we cheated a lot and our teacher, "Frau", was constantly saying to me (forgive the spelling again):
zei doch ruhig!
Which I'm pretty sure meant something like "sit down and shut up!" Maybe. :)”
“I'm headed to Phoenix this weekend. I'll be there thru Thursday. No plans for hiking but, it wouldn't be hard to talk me into something . . . .”
“@Stevet thx for the "REI in Tempe"-tip.... I think I'll try it there......”
