I posted this also on the trip thread...
But thought it might attract more attention with its own thread title.... Here's the info:

"We should be passing 3 geocaches fairly close to the trail; another 2 would make a good day hike from the first evening's camp; and a sixth is in a different forest unit, but close by; and a seventh is in Pike's Peak State Park near McGregor -- and an easy find.

BRING THOSE GPSs and print out the info for the caches. Here's a list of them by number. (Will see how well this copy of the list pastes into here...)

I got a list of caches around Charlie Brown's Bed, which is right near our second night's camp. The first numbers are difficulty, etc.; the name of the cache and who placed it; the identification number of the cache; when it was last found; and when it was placed. They'll also tell on the cache pages if a travel bug is there.

If you've never tried geocaching, this would be a great place/time to start!

I had "first finds" on most of the ones at Yellow River. Maybe all but one.

You can punch in the cache coordinates here, www.geocaching.com

To make your own NICE list of the caches, search for them around zip code 52146. It won't be quite in the order below. The first one listed is in the different forest unit. And the second one, I've never attempted. Hmmm, I thought it was on a Mississippi island, but now I see it looks to be on the mainland, although on the Wisconsin side of the river. I better get that one logged soon!
