Arclite, let's plan a yak trip sometime. I know Om would most likely want to come along also. My parents live up near you all, and I'm up in Gainesville about once a month, so it'll be easy and no problem for me to come up.

Wow, My Ocala Trip alone has gotten 1452 views since Sunday! That's more than some of my trips that have been up for well over a year.

Your welcome y'all. It was a fun trip. It's kinda funny cause every year I look at all the people signed up and think, "Damn, all these folks wanna come to Florida?" LOL!

I guess all of y'all can attest that there is indeed some good hiking in Florida.

Next year Ocala Part 4. It'll probably be Salt Springs or Grassy to Juniper Springs.Ya know what? there's good swimming on that stretch.

BTW,I'm really enjoying the photos.

Grassy to Juniper.

I want to put about 100 miles in on the FT during my week down there.

That's what I'm thinking. The only piece of Ocala I've not done is that four miles or so from Grassy Pond to the Blue Blaze out to Salt Spings.
humanpackmule

That would allow some of us to have completed the section from the lock to Juniper.

However, you are a logistical genius on these, HPM. Whatever you plan will be ok with me.

Chili, walkindude and myself had already talked about going down a day early next yr. We want to be able to knock out that section from Grassy Pond to Salt Springs and then meet up with everyone else.

HPM, when you going to post that trip on the trips page? I wanna sign up now...lol

We need a link at Phil's "Past Trips" place, too. That way, TTers can look back at THE GREATEST TT TRIP EVER for perpetuity...

Oh phIIIiiil?

Gawd... I'm still all giddy. Whatta trip!

"Penn$y" LOL!
The dude's coming into money - let's parTAY!

"Crazy Mike Carcamps" LOL!

Great pics, Liz!
And thanks for the caption about me watching for gators as the dogs drink. Peeps will think "awwww, what a good papa!"

Yep. I'm signed up for next year. Whatever HPM comes up with will be excellente, I'm sure.

Heck, you Floridians - we can hike there any old time... lemme know.

And yakkin' to the Barriers? When? Perhaps I'll have my custom-built tandem by then. I saw a 12' tandem at the Outdoors Cafe in High Springs. Twelve feet! Only four yards long... and spaciuos enough for me, her, and a dog or two - yet small enough to easily transport.

I want to eventually build a nice, sleek strip-type mahogany or cypress (cedar? white pine?), but I can build a bulgy plywood gluey thing for much less dinero, and much quicker, too.

Then again, I have my "new" Creek Craft (a notch above a 'ganoe'), but it has power, and don't paddle so well when the fuel runs out.

Fuel?
You mean beer or gasoline?

Hmmmmm...
good question HPM.

If I was out of both, I'd hafta paddle to the beer marina.

I'd just send Gizmo to fetch em both.

Reckon he could tow a 24 pack?

You betchya, Artex and Gojo!!! I'll even bring some good coffee. Maybe that way we can entice Tango to come as well.

I will be very busy what with Sipsey, my wedding, and a trip to Grand Canyon/Lake Powell planned for this year. But a weekender is very doable for me. Cedar Key, Crystal River (during manatee season), and the Itchetucknee (in winter) are all great trips. So is the Juniper Springs run. In the future, I want to go to Cayo Costa.

Wha tha fuh... "you all"? "You all" ?!! Dang Artex! You done spent too much time in Joisey.

I'll do an extended Ocala trip with you chili. But how will we arrange to park the cars at our campsites?

Hey, any Ocala people want to join me in the Adirondacks this weekend for the 4th annual FYAO?

The temps in Ocala were in the 80's friday, and this weekend it could get close to -20 in NY. Anyone else want to experience a 100 degree temp difference within a week's time span?

Anybody? Bueller?...... Bueller?

Dang it Hutchy, where are ya? I have to find out what brand of wine you had on Friday night. That was goooood stuff.

btw Tango - I'm appalled that you were appalled at my potentially suggestive remark. To defrost a frozen Tango, I would simply offer her my exepedition parka. Shame on anyone for thinking otherwise.

psssst... email me for the alternative defrosting

It's been a busy week, made better by the short releif of a warm weekend with the funnest bunch o hikers. Talk about group dynamics! Thanks to all who posted pictures! Great shots!

Pennsy, that was Pepper Woods Farms Cabernet Sauvignon. Saturday was Forest Glen. Both readily available in the wine section of any good groceru store. Also try Turning Leaf. Each of these companys make a good Merlot and several white varieties. Forest Glen makes an interesting White Merlot (sort of rose colored) I'd like to learn more about good wines, but not enough to spend the time.

Can't commit this early to next year. I was really thinking about a southwest trip like Zion?? But I know I'll miss everyone if I don't go. I'll just watch the other thread.

I second the Forest Glen recommendation. I'm not much of a wine drinker, but that one does kick butt, and it's not too pricey. Thanks for sharing with me dhutch1! :-)
