“What was your best backpacking trip of 2003?
Mine HAD to be Yoho NP in the Canadian Rockies! Thanks Hodgeman!
“Probably Fiery Gizzard in March. I haven't ever posted pics from that trip because I lost them in my house somewhere, lol...”
“ahh, the sign of a really good trip!”
“Unfortunately, I used up too much of my leave this year on silly trips to Florida with my family. Maybe in the coming year I can go on some real backpacking trips.”
“Pinchot Trail, PA
First Time meeting TTer's”
“Yoho was mine, too, Aero!”
“I can't pick - they were all my favorite!
“The Welch Ridge Loop in GSMNP.”
“Oh come on, EVERYONE knows it was Sierrapalooza!”
“Oh sure, all the cool kids went on Sierrapalooza!”
“aero - Nav & I posted less than a minute apart without even coordinating it.
Well, you started this thread!”
“There we go being cliquish again...”
“I'm one of the cool kids!
Nee Ner Nee Ner!!!!”
“Phil is too!”
“Hard to say, but perhaps the one to Maryland last week (Blair Witch). It was the coldest I ever camped in and got to test my stamina a little...”
“New Hampshire AT solo hike (Grafton Notch Maine - Norwich Vt. to be exact)- best trip in three years.”
“I didn't get any bag nights, but I got in a lot of hiking
“JMitch's Elk-Bulgin Trip on the Quehanna Trail!
19 miles in one day
Hitch Hiking (Knee blew out)
Meeting new people
Cannot wait for new adventures in 2004!”
“Mine was to the neurosurgeon on October 23th for a microendoscopicdiskectomy. Great fun. Maybe I'll get to go backpacing in April or May.”
“If I had to pick only one I guess it would be the Northville - Placid Trail. 10 days, and 122 miles through some of the most remote areas of the Adirondack Park. I think we saw 18 people on the trail the entire time (most were on the last day).
Northville-Placid Trail ”
Phil's favorite mountain
“for me I think it was the Sipsey trip in Feb.”
“Can't choose, so mine is SierrapaloozaRainbowBridge! Both were incredible.”
“I can't pick either, too many good trips to list.”
“Too many good trips to pick a favorite. I'm hoping for many more great days on the trail in 2004.”
“Man, Sierrapalooza has quite a following!”
“It was a great trip. Sorry you missed it. I would have liked returning the favor of Montanapalooza.”
“Maybe we should have called the Yoho trip Yohopalooza....”
“I had a good Sipsey trip in early March and also I took my wife on her first hiking trip to Roan Mtn, TN. Those two stick out.”
“Yeah...what were you thinking? LOL!”
“I was pushing for Yoho-yo-mamma!”
“"Hard to say, but perhaps the one to Maryland last week (Blair Witch). It was the coldest I ever camped in and got to test my stamina a little..."
That's cause I made your trip fun, Treebeard! LOL.
I think I'd say that was the best so far as well. I love hiking in the cold.”
“Tie between FYAO III and the Adirondacks Buttkicker II.”
“WW - Sawtooth does stand out!!
Can you see it from near where you live?”
“Actually, I thought it was the "Yahoo!" hike - I kept looking for computers along the trail....”
“The only "Yahoo" I heard was from Trail Bunny and Snow Nymph when Paleo Pete dropped trou at the lake!”
“I didn't really have a favorite. All the TT hikes were great. Hoping to do many more this year and also hoping to meet more of you. The best times packin' are always with great people.
“Yeah Phil... it's visible on a clear day. In the summer months you can barely see the foothills just 4 miles away :)”
“My favorite trip did not include any TT'ers.
...but then none of them do.”
“John Muir Trail, hands down. Only had about 7 days though so I'd like to go back this year for another helping!
Sierra Mountains simply cannot be beat for BP'ing, I always feel blessed to live here!”
“Hmmm... gotta be Yoho or Sierrapalooza, but which one?
Both fantastic trips with great prople. I guess since it was my first backpack in California I'm gonna say Sierrapalooza. I love a good road trip.
But, if I could only ever go back to one place or the other, I'd have to chose Yoho. It's without a doubt one of my very favourite places on earth”
“Tough to say what was the best...best hiking would be my Lost Coast Solo trip, but over all the best hiking has been with mike :)”
“My best trip was 5 days in Grand Canyon. First time I've been there and it was very niiiiice.
Hope I get at least a few good miles in 2004.”
“Woodland Caribou Provincial Park, Ontario, Canada, June
Defintely by far the best. Saw a big bull moose from 50 feet and a black bear and lots of other smaller critters. Bonus, the loon chorus was OUT OF THIS WORLD!”
“"My favorite trip did not include any TT'ers.
...but then none of them do."
Poor guy doesn't get to go on any of his favorite trips.”
“Cumberland National Seashore. Such a very different landscape than I'm used to!! Beautiful. And I never backpacked on a beach before.”
