“With the recent book threads, it got me thinking about my own library. I have become a bit of a local history nut over the past few years. If anyone knows of some good books on the history of Upstate New York, with emphasis on the Adirondack, please list them here. The following is a partial list of what I have. Adirondacks: A History of America's First Wilderness Paul Schneider Contested Terrain: A New History of Nature and People in the Adirondacks Philip G. Terrie Adirondack Explorations: Nature Writings of Verplanck Colvin Paul Schaefer (Not mine, but I’m holding it hostage) Why the Wilderness Is Called Adirondack: The Earliest Account of Founding of the MacIntyre Mine Henry Dornburgh Leading by Example: Partisan Fighters and Leaders of New France, 1660-1760, Vol. 1 Bob Bearor An original copy of the 1890 History of Saratoga County Greenfield Glimpses I’m sure I forgot a few” 8:32:58 AM 12/18/03
