“Major inner ear infection started last Saturday morning. Woke up yesterday with a bad sore throat, cough, fever, runny nose.

Went to the immediate care place to get an antibiotic and on the way home, had a cop do a u-turn in front of me. We were heading north on a 2 lane road (I was in the left lane; cop was about a half a car length in front of me in the right lane. Guy heading south was speeding so the cop did a u-turn right in front of me and I could not stop.”

“OH no! WK, are you ok? How much damage was there?”

“You sick people...STAY AWAY!!!!!!!”

“Front end of the jeep is F'd up, however it appears to be drivable. I would have taken more damage if I could just feel normal.”

“So some arsehole left like a whole bowl full of snack size Reese's Crispy Crunchy Bars in the break room. I had like...I dunno..a dozen. I think I am going to barf. And no amount of time at the gym tonight is going to put a dent in these calories.

I have tried stuff called Cold FX and it seemed to work for me. Big negative is that the stuff casts like 30 bucks. To be honest, just take vitamin c suppliments.”

i am at 40 miles this week already and have a run to get in tomorrow that would be 8. i might be pushing it too hard. perhaps a rest day or two will help.”

I found out the hard way yesterday that Laurel reprogrammed the elliptical. It went from steady fatburner program to maxxed out incline and resistance random mode. Ouch.”

I will try to figure out how to get more potassium. I think there is a lot in good quality OJ. I don't do suppliments anymore... No reason, I just don't.

“going to the doctor in 25 minutes. my head is STILL congested and i now can only hear cotton-fluff filtered sounds out of my left hear.

the good news is that i played guitar last night and my singing sounds better than ever. the congestion means i sound more like bob dylan and the lack of hearing means i can't tell that i suck.”

“take ibuprofen... it helps massively with a sore throat.

the doctor said their is fluid behind my ear-drum... no shock there and gave me a scipt for a steroid and an antibiotic. told me to keep slugging away at the sudafed 12 hour stuff. gotta tuff it out!”

“Poor Laurel still has serious crud going on. Still vomiting on occasion (though all meals stayed down today) it's all this mucus. Just voluminous blobs of it. Poor baby's already missed 2 days of school this week, and doesn't want to miss any more.”

“Sunday morning I woke up feeling pretty crappy.

Doing the usual thing, I took two aspirins and waited to call the doctor.

By Monday afternoon, I was burning alive. NGB made me go to the doctor (where I almost passed out in the waiting room) and they diagnosed me with Influenza, Type A.

The past three days have absolutely sucked and I don't feel significantly better today. You can bet I will take the shot next year.”
