I am not feeling or indicating that I am victimized, no more than if I called you a "poop-head" would you feel victimized or actually be "crying" about it. You probably would make a comment on the fact that I said that though.

I'm just indicating that apparently Geobeet has nothing better than do than directing insults towards me.

Y2, I am commenting on the claim by dems that Bush is a moron and stupid. For 7 years he has outstepped, outfoxed, outpoliticed, and generally outsmartered them and kept them on the defensive and fighting with each other. So I ask, what does it say about the dems that someone they consider a moron beats the at every game they play?

I am being very obvious in what I am saying, if you aren't getting it then maybe you aren't even as smart as teh democrats.

Well I think he's not a particulalry smart man advised by some very sharp political minds.

When you look at him and watch him in press conferences and the like - you honestly think he's the brains behand the operation?

Bush is a much different type of speaker in private than in public as he's representing the role of President. He's much more guarded in his words, so he struggles with what to say because of that.
Sarge

I think he isn't a polished politician, but that doesn't make him dumb. My number one rule that I teach my children is to not put stock in what people say, but in what they do. With Bush, he does what he says and he doesn't let political pressure or poll numbers sway him from his agenda. Don't you seriously think that "sharp political minds" would have him jumping all over the political spectrum to keep his poll numbers up? I think his policies and agendas are his, and he, like a smart man should, delegates the details of what he wants done to the experts in that field.

Clinton, the last president we can compare Bush to, was considered a highly intelligent man, yet he was unable to maintain the kind of control bush has over congress.

He's much more guarded in his words, so he struggles with what to say because of that.

Why, because then it'd be BLATANTLY obvious his lack of verbal skills and abillity to think on his feet? Come on, I've witnesses you making better excuses for the guy than that!

I'm confused now Sarge. Which was insulting: when I was going to vote for you for president or when I wasn't, or both??? Please be more specific.

And Stovey, you stay the hell out of this. I'm not voting for you for anything, so you have no right to feel insulted.

Rosey, the pity party threads will go up whether I'm here or not. Deal with it. It's what he does. He can't help it any more than Stovey can help typing silly libbies, as though he has a clue about what a libbie is.

Bush Asserts Right to Ignore Law Barring Funds for Permanent
U.S. Bases in Iraq

The news comes as President Bush has declared he has the right to
bypass
a new law that prohibits the use of taxpayer money to establish
permanent U.S. bases in Iraq. The ban was passed as part of the new
National Defense Authorization Act. Hours after signing the bill
Monday,
Bush issued a signing statement asserting his right to ignore the
restriction that bars federal funding “to establish any military
installation or base for the purpose of providing for the permanent
stationing” of U.S. forces or “to exercise United States control of
the
oil resources of Iraq.” Bush’s signing statement also asserted his
right
to ignore a measure that boosts protection for whistleblowers employed
by companies with government contracts. And the statement also objects
to the creation of an independent commission on contracting fraud and
waste in Iraq and Afghanistan.

If a Democrat gets elected, they will blame all problems that occur on their watch on the Republicans. And all successes will be credited to the Democrats if they win. Politics as usual. Neither party is innocent of these antics.

So the Dems will blame Bush, but we can't blame Clinton for 8 years of destroying our MI? Interesting.

Looks like the Dems are already getting ready to blame Bush when things go wrong under a Dem president.

Can you say "preemptive finger-pointing"?

Then when they do point the finger, they can say "see, I told you we'd be pointing our fingers at Bush."

LOL

I'm imagining some future time when there's a Republican Congress and a Democratic president..... and the president hauls out a Bush Signing Statement to bolster his case.

Some people favor the concept of "the Unitary President" as long as its their "Unitary President".   It's like that joke about "Yeah, he's a bastard, but he's OUR bastard!"

What happens when it's somebody else's bastard?   LMAO

I wonder if David Addington has even thought that far ahead.

if ya want to stuff a bunch of stuff (ie, like the whistleblower protection) into a bill you know the president will ignore or veto because of something else in the same bill, then blame yourself for the loss of whistleblower protection not the man who said you will lose it if you do it.
