I can see it now:

Thread titles:

How to best carry knitting needles and yarn while backpacking?

Knitting needles: Double duty as mini trekking poles?

Knitting needles: Technique for poking out eyes of raccoons or bothersome persons of the opposite sex

Yarn: Methods to braid it in camp to make clothesline

Yarn: The best colors to use in nature.

Can it be done??! Knitting that disposable afghan to be used later the same night in your sleeping bag in very cold condition.

Wonderful Twinks!
I learned to knit online too several years ago. What fun!
Also, if you are interested, there are also websites for crochet too. They even have small videos showing you the different stitches. Good stuff!

okay twinks
after you have cast on, i usually trim off the trailing yarn a little maybe to a foot or so, and then you start at the tip, and put the needle through the backside of the first loop, and wrap the yarn around the needle once and bring it through, do the same the whole row down. Then, turn the need the other way, so the incoming yarn is facing the right again.

You could go out with mamabeargrrr. You'll just need to lock your bunnies in a cage, or hire a bunch of forest ninja's!

Dont know about polypro yarn
But, you could cut the fabric up and crochet it with a huge hook and turn it into a purse or whatever.

Personally, I love wool yarn that has been mixed with angora, silk, or Alpaca yarn. Great stuff. It is so soft.

twinks did you know.........
Knitting and crochet were originally started by fishermen? Then the knitting spread, but they imediately didn't use purchased needles, instead using sticks etc. Also fishermen knit was originated in Ireland by the Irish fisherman and sailors to pass time. It was spread to the women, and while they had no written patterns, each person had their own trademark stitch they used.

Currently, I have been working on a fisherman's knit sweater for myself out of an Irish book.

MamaBear doesnt harm animals
I have always been kind to animals. I even bottlefed several kittens that were abandoned before they were old enough to leave home. The last one, we found when she was first born. I bottle fed her for a few months, getting up every 2 hours to feed her.

Also, Mama bear is married to Papa Bear.

knitting only please.

leave all drama at the door - there is too much noise in my life as it is without any more online bs

Mama - save your needles for your daughter - I don't know what happened - but I can't imagine why a mother and daughter would end their relationship...that's just sad

a friend of mine recently lost her mother to cancer...it really bothers me to think that a relationship like that between a mom and daughter could get so screwed up that nasty things are being said online....
