"When the population reached 200 million on Nov. 20, 1967, there was no accurate tally of Hispanics in the United States. The first effort to count them came in the 1970 census, which found a total U.S. population of 203 million and 9.6 million Hispanics. There are about 43 million Hispanics in the country today, according to the Census Bureau."

http://www.washtimes.com/specialrep...24829-5600r.htm

Lets see the U.S. has increased by 50% since 1967 but the number of Hispanics (mostly legal?) has increased by over 450% since 1970.

WOO HOO!!!
SAN FRANCISCO - A federal appeals court on Wednesday blocked a Bush administration rule that allowed logging and burning projects in national forests without first analyzing their effects on the environment.

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said the U.S. Forest Service violated the National Environmental Policy Act when it issued the 2003 rule, which was billed as a way to reduce wildfires.

As part of the "Healthy Forests Initiative," the "hazardous fuels reduction" rule exempted logging projects up to 1,000 acres and prescribed forest burns up to 4,500 acres from environmental review.

The court said the agency's failure to properly analyze the rule caused "irreparable injury" by allowing more than 1.2 million acres of national forest land to be logged and burned each year without studying the ecological impacts.

The three-judge panel ruled that the Forest Service can no longer exempt such projects from environmental analysis until the rule itself can be properly analyzed.

They are trying to change a central part that would take out the ability to claim lineage to sites and material cultural remains.

I don't think it will happen, but with this bumbling band of complete and total coprolites, you never can tell.

you do nothing but hurt your side and give ammunition to the sarges and xl's and rushes of the world. they cloud the issue with old "libbies are full of hate" lines, and people like you are the reason why

Iran announced they have successfully developed a delivery system (rocket) that can carry a nuclear payload 1200 miles AND they are continuing their uranium enrichment program for "peaceful energy" purposes. Whatever part of the program they halted can't possibly be to complicated to start back up once they get the results they want from their uranium enrichment program.

I love how on the one hand US intelligence is an incompetent agency and can't be trusted but then when they say what you want to hear they are okie dokie 100% accurate. And on one hand Bush is a stupid idiot bungling his way through a big boys game, and also a master plotter controlling the US to reach his plan of world domination. Funny how this bungling idiot seems to wins everything he wants and no one can seem to stop his schemes that supposedly the entire US and the rest of the world opposes.

Yall have me confused on who you think Bush is.

Yes right sorry about the typo, Nigy.

Mutt how does a head of an agency come in and tell the dickhead that they are doing a major reevaluation of... and the dickhead doesn't ask of what? That's his story and he's sticking to it.

Thank you Hyway, I am. And I have to say with this dumb ass nc the ignore feature is a beautiful thing. I have already told it that I was a woman on another thread so if that's the best you can do dunce nc, you bore me.

Defending Bush is old hat. It's close to the end of the run for these guys, then we'll see just what the hell was really going on.

That is if BushCo doesn't shred everything first; although he is well on his way.

Any other Sun Chips lovers in here? They're canning the annoying new bag.

Frito-Lay sends noisy, 'green' SunChips bag to the dump

Frito-Lay is preparing to quietly sack its "green" but noisy SunChips bag.
Roughly 18 months after Frito-Lay, with great fanfare, launched a biodegradable SunChips bag made from plant material that was billed as 100% compostable, the company is yanking the noisy material from the packages of five of six SunChips flavors immediately.

The company is returning them to their former bags that can't be recycled but won't wake the neighbors while it works frantically to come up with a new, quieter eco-friendly bag.

The noise of the bag due to an unusual molecular structure that makes the bag more rigid has been compared to everything from lawnmowers to jet engines. There's even an active Facebook group with more than 44,000 friends that goes by the name of "Sorry But I Can't Hear You Over This SunChips Bag."

Realizing that "bio degradable" needs to be exposed to the atmosphere to degrade...the average Landfill actually has to be "not exposed" to the environment to be certified.

not sure i follow your comment xl, but i think its friggin lame that people are chooseing a bag of chips based on the volume of the dam bag.

I thought their compostable bag was a pretty cool idea.

No, if people are told something is good for the environment but it's a piece of shlt, they won't buy it. The bags were bullshlt anyhow. They were cashing in on the hopes that ignorant people would buy their chips and get the warm fuzzies because they're "saving the planet".

But your post proves my point. People didn't care about what was environmentally friendly. They want a friggin bag that pleased them. The fukkin chips didn't change

it was a swing and a miss by sun chips...it was a good idea but their approach was wrong...there is biodegradable packaging that isn't so noisy but for some reason they chose this...it was probably cheaper...these bags are REALLY friggin load, so much so that i didn't feel comfortable bringing them to work
