Wide Pac Boots (2E - 4E)View MessagesViewing posts 1 to 13 of 13 messages posted.
“I've got some good insulated hiking boots, but don't have anything suitable for extended backpacking - basically, I don't have anything that won't accumulate too much moisture over a few days time - or freeze up over night. The problem is I never see Pac Boots or Plastic boots that come extra wide... and my feet will get killed in anything that isn't extra wide. Keeping my clunky winter boots in or very near my bag works OK for a night or so... but I need a better solution.” 10:06:45 AM 11/03/03 “Woah! the top three threads are all gear threads... (by icon at least) is that a TT record?” 10:07:23 AM 11/03/03 “I've been thinking about some plastic boots - any brand recommendations?” 12:26:48 PM 11/03/03 1:05:26 PM 11/03/03 “garfum... do those really have a removable layer like pac-boots...? I suppose I could call Cabela's and ask them.” 3:09:47 PM 11/03/03 “It doesn't look like the liner is removeable.” 3:15:10 PM 11/03/03 “ski - that was my assumption when I looked at the catalogue, but maybe I might give 'em a call (especially if everything else looks like a dead end)” 3:17:24 PM 11/03/03 “Heck, I'd be happy to just find a reasonable selection of single E hiking boots. Wouldn't it be great if there was a website where you could search based on width?” 3:31:54 PM 11/03/03 “I dont think they do - at least there are no additional liners available to be purchased.” 3:40:38 PM 11/03/03 “Tilt: yep!” 3:48:41 PM 11/03/03 “lacrosse has a backcountry pac boot in wide width. l.l. bean sells some lacrosse boots. i don't know if they carry the backcountry. also, check out irish setter boots. i think any of their styles are available in wide. their "tracker" boots are pac style i think. irish setter are a top quality boot.” 12:11:09 AM 11/04/03 “oops.” 12:11:31 AM 11/04/03 “I really like PAC boots but could never hike any distance in them.” 2:48:53 AM 11/04/03
