Just finally got power back on here in Woodlawn (Balto Co) about an hour ago ,it had been out since thursday night. I too lost all the food in my fridge and freezer ,and seeing as how I REALLY likes my food ,that aint good!! lol At least Im on high ground here so flooding hasnt been much of a problem except for some basements. Grocery stores lost thousands of dollars worth of perishable foods around here ,I hope that dont mean prices are going up!! I hope every body made out ok !! Streamweaver

The great thing about Guiness is that it really doesn't need to be chilled...

Owls and Stars
Saturday morning (5 AM)I escaped Baltimore and the storm damage and the hysteria surrounding it by driving down to Blacksburg to visit my son at VaTech. The drive was beautiful....fall is in the air for sure.

He was at the VaTech-Texas A&M game Thursday night in the storm wearing a T-shirt.

We had a blast. We found a place in town that had great wings, lots of college football games on TV and cold beer. Local micro-brew, 22oz for $2.50. He showed me his architecture studio and we played racket ball ( I tried ...he beat my ass)

We spent the night up in the Jefferson NF sitting around a fire and sleeping under the stars listening to owls.

Now I'm back to the "devastation" and the power is still out except not at home....never went out. School's out though...Yahoo!!!

The cost to replace spoiled food caused by the power outage may be covered under your homeowner's or renter's insurance. Mine was covered. Of course, you have to consider your deductible.

Then I can give lyra a lesson on Southern style power drinking until she passes out.

ok Chili, but that means no drinking anything that ends in the word "lite" ;o)

Miller Lite is just training beer.

I mean look at it this way...

You don't run 35 miles a day to prepare for a marathon, now do ya?

Be sure to ask the barman (quietly) if he's got any "po-cheen".
Tilt

9/23/03

Is that "prot whiskey"?
Tom Terrific
11:02:16 AM
9/23/03

Po-cheen? Isn't that a kind of home brew made from potatoes?

I can remember one of my clients talking about how they made "pocheen" in prison.

Rules for The Dubliner;

1.Don't wear orange
2.Ask for Cathlic whiskey only
3.Don't let on that yo-nami is a Brit

Don't wear orange! WTF? I was planning on wearing my UT shirt.

What kind of dive is this place?

Ever heard of Orangemen?

They march through the catholic neighborhoods every year in Northern Ireland to show the RC's who's boss.
Tom Terrific

There wasn't a Irishman in there last time I was there TT. It's really not an issue any more :o)

Chili, it would be worse than wearing Orange and sitting in the 'Bama student section during the Alabama-Tennessee game...

Green is good though.

Just kiddin', you guys!

That whole conflict gets filed under the "rat's ass" category for me.
Tom Terrific
9:32:15 AM
9/24/03

chili....UT is a great team, but sheesh, you guys must have been at the end of the line when they were handing out school colors. Or drinking too much moonshine, or ____-lite.

:)

Is Smokey coming along?

Tom Terrific

9/24/03

Yes, I think that I can make it.
5 PM right?

Smokey is the UT mascot, a big, floppy earred hound of some kind.
( am I right chili?)
JO
10:06:52 AM
9/24/03

Yes!

5 PM is when we will blow in there.

We will try to get to D.C. by 4:00 before traffic gets REAL ugly.
Tom Terrific

I might take the subway to avoid that stuff.

To Be Sure... Poteen ("po-cheen") IS Irish moonshine, <G>. It's Gaelic, wouldn't you know.

William of Orange (in this politically charged atmosphere, perhaps you'd like to pick your own link, LOL)

Be sure to round up all the Clemson and Florida fans that you can.

Thanks for putting it in perspective, bitpusher, I can fully understand that analogy.

Jo, smoky is a blue tick hound; and I personally think the Orange and White is much better than what I have seen Oregon wearing this year. When they played Mississippi State, you could see a neon haze on the horizon from 250 miles away. Where did they get those uniforms? A company that processes nuclear waste?

Ok, I will wear a company shirt, teal in color. It is as close to green as I can get.
