“Did 16 miles on the Tennessee River/Guntersville lake this Sunday, used the 2nd Generation Outriggers...had a blast!

After that I want to do the Rifle and the Pine. Also want to do the Apostle Islands, Paddle to N Manitou and take the boats to Isle Royale and check out the island camps there, cemetary island, etc.”

“Apostle Islands is on my list but that's a fish of another feather from river paddles. Most of my open water work has been with this trip as a long-term goal.”

“In the tropics Mon? One of my favorite paddling trips ever was in Florida Bay and the mangrove rivers. It was too cool for school (except for all the tourists who slowed us down). I'd love to get my own boat down there for a week or so.

My new PFD and Paddle arrived today.

I got a sweet new Astral Grunion PFD, 3 huge molded pockets, two smaller fleece lined hand pockets, low cut pits, ultra comfy.

And I finally upgraded my paddle. I will keep my older wood bending branches impression for daytripping (I love the way the wood feels in water vs carbon) but for distance and racing I now have a sweet demo model of the werner corryvrecken (neutral bent shaft 30oz), oh man I cant wait to go paddling.”

I've got 4. I'm looking forward to taking the Tarpon 160 or the Scupper Pro with a cooler out in the hot Texas sun soon. Wanna join me sometime?”

“We haven't had any problems with either. I would look at the options from both for your make/model and choose according to which you feel will be easier for you to load and unload.”
