used Flashed Ronin AirPad crash pad for bouldering. bought it on ebay for 250 but it lists for 488. it's been lightly used and seems to have been in storage for much of its life... the foam sheets are a little compressed but it gives a great landing. killer deal.

I don't carry it to start a stove (it's my survival fire starter) but yes, it can. It's the baby brother of the Blastmatch and they both kick out a major shower of sparks. Along with the Wetfire tinder it hasn't failed yet.

I take that back: the one time the Wetfire failed was when I crushed it and got it absolutely saturated with water. Both will work when wet but the Wetfire wouldn't keep a flame because I had it smashed into powder and the pool of water was way too much.

Check out the Ultimate Survival website for some pretty cool videos.

Thanks. I would be interested in using it in high wind conditions with a stove. I camp in lots of places where fires are banned.

I love REI Outlet. Just got a Sub-Kilo sleeping bag for almost half off and replaced my Mars backpack for less than $100. Felt so guilty I had to buy a nice pair of gloves for my daughter.

I have a Marmot that weighs 10 oz. I couldn't see paying $139 to save 2 oz. And I got a HUGE deal on that. I ended up paying $47 shipping included for the Marmot.

I bought an Osprey Aether 60 for my thru hike and just the other day I ordered a 'Packa' The packa just arrived yesterday afternoon and it should be just the ticket.

Nimble it is a Marmot down jacket. I have the Osprey Ariel and LOVE IT! It is the first pack I've owned that my left arm doesn't go numb when wearing it! And no back pain either!

Tango: was that the Montbell U.L. Down Inner Jacket that was supposed to be 6.2oz? Their website says that item is 7.3oz in the Med sz.

Here is my jacket https://www.prolitegear.com/montbell_women_ul_down_inner_jacket.html Weight: 6.1 oz / 177 g (size Medium)
(Validated on ProLite Scales)

And http://www.thepacka.com/ I'd like to try to make one of those. That's just too expensive for me.

I SCORED!!! Teva sandals for $5.99 at Ross Dress for Less! (I got the green ones)

I almost scored Montrail Goretex hikers for $29.99 at the same place! But they were 1 1/2 sizes too small. Darn!

I LOVE RD4L! I've gotten some good deals from there.

I don't have a ULA pack Sweetpea, but it made of Dyneema which is pretty bomb proof for the weight.

My Kelty Illusion is made of dyneema. It's held up well to the abuse I put my gear through. None of the dynema has torn.

That looks like a comfy pack, crash.

Picked up one of these for cheap off a friend who got a two-fer deal for cheap. Tried it out last weekend for the first time on a snowshoe. It works great and the kiddo loves it.

Also converts to a straight up gear pulk for winter camping (same one used by the Marine Corps Moutain Warefare troops).

Very cool Rosey!

CB, nice pack. You'll love your ULA and they hold up very well. I overpack mine on a regular basis and no seem stretching or popping yet, over 5 years of use (although, poor thing doesn't get used as often as it should!)
