I am amazed!
I bought a Marmot Lithium down bag for $378 on 1/2/03 from backcountry store. I was looking on their website today and I see they have a long (mine is reg) for $279, I called and despite that mine was a reg they credited my card with the difference. Almost $100.00!!!

In April, I bought a Black and Decker blender as a replacement for an older model that was a few years old. 2 months after I bought it, the blade assembly cracked so I emailed Black and Decker and they sent me a new part in two days. 2 weeks ago, the jar cracked when I was blending some soup and it had a few frozen chunks in it. I've blended ice in it before and it never bothered anything so I thought the jar shouldn't crack that easily. Again, Black and Decker to the rescue and they sent me a new jar in two days. I use this blender several times a day and it's not the best blender out there, but Black and Decker did replace the broken parts with no hassles so I just thought I'd give them a plug for great customer service.

I bought some light weight hiking boots by Patagonia in March (Drifters). Hiked in them a few times and tore a lug off the Vibram sole. I mentioned in to a guy at the shop and he said if I could find the receipt they'd exchange the boots, but if I contacted Patagonia there would be no questions asked. "They totally stand behind their products," he said in Californian.

So I wrote a note to customer service on the Patagonia web page, shipped the boots to them, and now I have new ones. Only took a couple of weeks, and no trouble.

I broke the zipper off on the lid of my Osprey Ariel. Osprey replaced the zipper and sent it back to me!

Several years ago I had a good experience with Mountain Hardware, too. Found a panel on my down coat was completely empty - no rips, and it was completely sealed so it was a factory defect. They filled it up and sent it back to me, no problem. This was after a season or two of use. No, I don't know how I missed it before then.
