I know. It's like, go out to the mound and just go down on him and get it over with! LOL!

Limpy has a point. I was wondering what base they were going to make Jeter go back to. He could have been on second easily. Good thought, dude...

Well, they called JJ's 'boobie prize' deal a wardrobe malfunction. I wonder what they would call a live BJ on television. They could re-name the acronym ALCS as "Announcers Like Curt's Schlong"!

LOL! I love how announcers always swing back and forth as to who is the greatest. When one team's winning that guy is the greatest thing. Then if the score shifts it's the other guy who's the greatest.

The reason Jeter had to go back to first was because when A-Rod committed the infraction, it automatically negated whatever else would have happened. It's not like runner interference. In the case of runner interference, the runner is out and everything else stands. In the case of A-Rod, it's as if he struck out. Them's the rules, or so I says.

As for swiping at the ball, heck, if you can get away with it, it's like running outside the base line. Fielders deke out runners by acting like they're going to take a throw to keep the runner from going to another base.

All's fair in love, war, and baseball, provided you get away with it. It's getting caught that's wrong.

Also, they pointed out that had he run into Arroyo and knocked the ball loose, that would have been okay. Runners routinely bowl over catchers, and that's just baseball. First basemen get spiked all the time. I never accepted that baseball is not a full contact sport.

Just for you MarkO, deke=fake. It's a hockey term that extended to other sports.

As a Sox fan, Boston born - and raised across the river - I'm happy. What looked like a sad-sick blowout has turned into a classic battle. No matter who wins, this is great baseball and I'll be glad. Of course, a Sox win and I'll be delerious. It would be great to break that 86 year dry spell.

I also felt great for Schilling, he was obviously hurting and bummed out after game one. Nothing like a little redemption at a key moment.

Statistic of the Week!
Coming into the game, the Yankees and the Red Sox had met 50 times since the start of the 2003 season, with each team winning 25 games. The difference in runs scored between the teams? Two.

Hah! I was watching the Yahoo Gamechannel of the game while on a family conference call (don't tell anyone!), when it said A-rod grounded into a force. Then nothing for several minutes. I thought somebody tripped over the cord or something. Then it showed Jeter back on first and A-rod out on interference. Hee hee!

It was a force alright. He forced the ball out of Arroyo's glove, that's exactly what happened.

Baseball fans take note. The Evil Empire has been vanquished. Although Luke Damon and his companions had to take some mighty hits, they went into the Death Star in the Bronx without trepidation. Even in the face of Darth Steinbrenner, they pounded out hit after hit and brought down the evil big money team.
Hallelujah! This has been one of the greatest sporting events I have had the pleasure of witnessing.

The bought-and-paid-for cancer on The American Past-time has been defeated! Congrats Bosox, not only for winning, but coming from behind in historical fashion to beat the monopoly that many call the Yankees.

Watching the expressions of obnoxious yankees fans in the final 3 innings........

priceless.

Okay, enough rubbing Yankee fan's faces in it (well, maybe not just yet). But seriously, that was an incredible feat. To be down 0-3, with Game 3 consisting of a humiliating 19-8 score... to fight through the next two long, excruciating games to climb back into contention... to come into a hostile Yankmee Stadium for the final two games and kick their butts...

Epic.
