LOL!” 11:31:46 AM 12/10/04 “old man..you hurt my feelings Smiley :(” 11:46:03 AM 12/10/04 “Just hunt around on that site, Ewk - talk about ooh-la-la!!” 11:54:43 AM 12/10/04 “BM, is that what kept you motivated. You got behind one hot female and just concentrated on her movments in front of you. I will admit when i was running I did do that :-)” 12:06:39 PM 12/10/04 “I might have, Ewk, but I was so close to a painful death it was all I could do to just keep my eyes open, much less process what they were seeing! :-)” 12:27:47 PM 12/10/04 “Woo-Hoo!!! My club won the men's masters age group team title for road racing this year!! This was for the Pacific Association of USA Track & Field - we have a very active competitive running community here in the Bay Area, and we have a 15-race grand prix, where you can compete both as an individual and as part of a team. We were in 2nd place going into the marathon, but the first place team didn't score a complete team, so we jumped into the lead. The final race of the year was a relay, 4x4.6 miles around a lake in San Francisco. Our guys won that (averaging 5:37 per mile!), thereby clinching the team title. 500 bucks for the club - time to par-TAY! Um, no, I don't think I was among the scoring members in any race, although I may have counted in the Open category once (you can score in a younger age group). Sore muscles are fine now, so I'm going for some short, easy runs this week. Not sure what's up next, race-wise....” 10:37:20 AM 12/14/04 “Awesome Bowlderman! How do you guys celebrate?” 10:40:25 AM 12/14/04 “Beer will probably be involved....” 10:43:59 AM 12/14/04 “Drunk out of a trophy?” 10:45:50 AM 12/14/04 “Now that's an idea....” 11:39:29 AM 12/14/04 “Take pictures to send to the loser team. ;) I'm thinking five weeks and I'll be back on the road in my Brooks. Surgery tomorrow at 3:30. I miss running very much.” 7:52:51 PM 12/14/04 “Aack!! Surgery!! Hope all goes well, sass - sending speedy thoughts your way!! Maybe you should consult sarabelle - I think she had a "sergery leg" once....” 8:46:45 AM 12/15/04 “Any word on sass's surgery??????” 8:48:48 AM 12/16/04 “All done, went well. Sounded nasty though. Thanks for asking!” 8:49:46 AM 12/16/04 “Yay!!!” 8:51:32 AM 12/16/04 “You don't sound like you're on too many drugs, Sass. What a bummer!” 9:42:30 AM 12/16/04 “none SG. I have 'em but there's no need to take them so far. I think if I stay off of it I'll not feel much pain.” 9:56:35 AM 12/16/04 “Sounds good, sass! Hey Smiley, runnin' much?” 10:27:30 AM 12/16/04 “As a matter of fact, I went running last night! Did 2 miles on the bike first, then ran 1.25 miles around the track, and then got on the elliptical machine for another 1 mile. Felt awesome!! Sass, are you going to be up for some painting after Christmas? :)” 11:09:21 AM 12/16/04 “Wow! The workout trifecta!! ...and it's pretty tough to get those ellipticals to move a few feet, much less a whole mile!” 11:33:40 AM 12/16/04 “Hey gang, does anyone have a good running program for someone like me who hasn't done any serious miles in a long time? I have a knee that's been worked on in the past (acl replacement with screws that isn't so great) so high miles are out. My goal is to improve my CV fitness level. I want to run about 3 days a week. Thanks” 12:08:30 PM 12/16/04 “curahee, www.runningcool.com has a couch-potato to 5K workout you can use. i just run until i feel like walking, and then walk until i feel like running again. so far it works for me, and then i don't get frustrated with not being able to go the distance or time specified. oh, and i forgot to mention i actually threw a sprint at the end of my run yesterday. apparently not working out for a week was good for me!” 12:26:28 PM 12/16/04 Smiley “haha, I don't think that's the runningcool you think it is.” 12:42:09 PM 12/16/04 “I think she meant coolrunning.com .” 1:08:32 PM 12/16/04 “oh, whoops! perhaps i shouldn't click on the link i created.... sorry, currahee! thanks, bowlderman!” 3:25:59 PM 12/16/04 “wow, thanks smiley for that great site” 3:53:13 PM 12/16/04 “I nervously clicked on it, smiley. Not to worry - it's a refrigerated trucking company. Not overly racy....” 4:58:41 PM 12/16/04 “LOL! Cute name for a company like that!” 7:31:04 AM 12/17/04 “A little late but I met my goal for 2004 mileage, I broke 1100. This year I am hoping for 1200 lus but we'll see. I am on target thus far but there is sooooo mcuh time to go LOL.” 11:39:19 AM 1/08/05 11:24:20 AM 1/12/05 “Excellant Craig! Looks like it was a gorgeous day. I'm back in shoes now (ouch) and itching to get on the treadmill. Dr says no walking any distance even, yet. I bet within a month I'll be doing some short runs though and I cannot wait!” 11:41:29 AM 1/12/05 “Way to go, le Subtil! Always nice to just get under a milestone time like that....” 11:45:54 AM 1/12/05 “Sass: What? It was nice at the start, but by the finish it was raining, cold, and windy! Congratulations on your recovery. Hang in there. BM: I wanted under 2 hrs. bad, and I really, really had to work for it.” 11:55:07 AM 1/12/05 “One of my teammates (who, agonizingly, ran 3:00:17 in the marathon last month) made a furious sprint to the finish of the big 10-mile race nearby this past weekend. It was successful - he finished in 59:59....” 12:38:45 PM 1/12/05 “NIce job, LS! Was that Mission Point Resort?” 1:36:31 PM 1/12/05 “Looked like the Grand Hotel porch to me, but then again it also looked sunny to me, lol.” 3:21:29 PM 1/12/05 “Taking a third look it's neither!” 3:22:13 PM 1/12/05 “Nice job LeSubtil especially in breaking 2 hours.” 6:19:36 PM 1/12/05 “Smiley - Yes, that was Mission Point resort. Thet're partial sponsors. Nice place!” 6:10:22 AM 1/13/05 “So far the year has been good, I completed my first 100 so far and am feeling great. I have added long rides on the excercise bike and am eating more protein then in the past and feel a big difference (i was having trouble recovering for a while.) Maybe another marathon this year...” 2:01:04 PM 1/29/05 “I slacked through Dec, but I started to pick it back up in the last couple weeks. 7 miles this morning. Birch, do you use recovery drinks such as Endurox?” 2:31:04 PM 1/29/05 “hubcap, I love Endurox R-4. I have used it with great success after many long runs and have used it as a meal before an event too. I am out of it now and am waiting for a sale. I like it but its really expensive. I can get the same result from a well planned meal after a run but the drink is VERY convenient. I have found out two things about R4 though, the colder the water the better and dont drink it after its an hour old (even if refrigerated) it get thick and nasty. Do you use it?” 6:56:03 PM 1/29/05 “I ran a 5K on snowshowes this past Saturday. www.runsnow.com I actually did OK; 17th overall out of hundreds. Had a lot of fun. It was interesting, 80% of it was through the woods off-trail; a narrow track that made it hard to pass. I did two good face-plants myself. Afterwards we skied the VASA trails near Traverse City. Very nice! Started training for a Memorial weekend marathon. I'm going to run 10's for my weekend long runs until I can run it at the pace I want for the marathon. I want to do it at an 8 min/mile pace, but that's an awful lot quicker than last year. Birch: You asked on another thread about the Pickney run. I had a lot of fun there last year and want to do it again, but there's so many other races and I'm trying to sort them all out. There's 1/2's in Burlington, Ont., Northville, Flushing, and I might be in good enough shape to do a full in April, there's one in Nashville that I'm interested in. The Pickney is the most likely so far, though.” 6:20:05 AM 1/31/05 “le Subtil, when's the race in Northville? what's the distance??” 7:17:32 AM 1/31/05 “They posted our times. I got a 37:02:00, and came in 17th out of 132. Smiley, I mis-spoke, it's in Livonia on March 19th. It's a 1/2 and a full marathon. http://www.runmichigan.com/eventcalendar/list/MAR05.1103633043.11563.html” 10:37:10 AM 1/31/05 “Birch, I usually down some R4 after runs lasting an hour or more. The taste doesn't seem to bother me even if it has been sitting a while. Heck, if I mix some up, drive to a trail, then do a real long run, it may be 4 hours before I drink it.” 12:02:07 PM 1/31/05 “Le Sub, if you need a place to throw down a sleepy bag night before you're very welcome!” 12:08:08 PM 1/31/05 “Good luck with that race, LS! I certainly won't be joining you on that one! Though, maybe I can stop in and say hello to you!” 12:20:02 PM 1/31/05 “LeSubtil, I hope you can make it to the pinckney run. The half in march (its part of the martain marathon I believe) may be on my list.” 4:25:36 PM 1/31/05 Jump to Page << prev
