“Been looking for some Blaze Orange bandannas to put around my dog's neck for this time of the year, but Nooooooooo, noone seems to have them. I wonder if anyone even makes them?
So I got him an orange collar, instead.”
Just A Test
“Don't know if you have a Meijer's near you, or a Kmart.... but I was just to the 2 of them lately.... and found LOTS of Blaze'n orange stuff at them both... might find what you're looking for there. Hope this helped!”
“Go to the fabric store and get some orange fleece or fabric and you can make one pretty cheap.”
Been There Done That
“No blaze orange in the local JoAnne fabrics, or in the WalMart, Trader Horn, Gun World, or Agway.”
To Make Things Clearer...
“I mean no BO fabric in Joanns, and no fabric or bandannas in any of the other stores. Lots of items in that color, but I ain't gonna Spend good money for them just to shred'em.”
“(shrugging....) Have you tried the Dollar Store?? ;-)”
“Bass Pro Shops in Cincinnati has those!!!”
“I have purchased these two years in a row at Gander Mountain. Do you have a store near you? The nearest one here is about 30 miles away.”
“I work at bass pro a couple of shifts a month. I have to go in there tomorrow. I will check to see if they have those and the price.”
“nuddar you big dorkus amongus, they have tose at almart in fayetteville in the huntin department for $1.98 and if your walmart is too retarded to carry them just e-mail me and i'll send ya some. i recently went on a hike to indian creek in the buffalo national river on the first day of huntin seasone and i was worried bout buckshot gettin shot so i got him one and i wore one too ciz i dont wanna get shot eother cux getti9n shot wouold really suck big time......”
There's A Gander Mtn In Pitt,PA...50 Miles Away
“Da WalMart ina mya hometown donta have'em, even the dood who works in the hunt'n dept said they don't carry 'em. Our Walmart is about 7 years old, the smaller Pooper WalMart variety, evidently not the Super Walmart kind.
If anyone can find'em and want to help...I'll take 2. 8)”
“Getting shot would ruin a trip for sure. Even with a blaze orange kerchief, I could see a city hunter telling the judge, "How was I supposed to know deer don't wear blaze orange bandanas?"”
“buddar, i'll send ya a couple dood. email me. adress is on ma profile but it's easy to remembah. email@example.com”
“Safeway has plenty oranges”
“uh... just so ya know.... sometimes deer do wear the blaze orange to confuse the hunters.”
“just get your dog someones old ratty VOLS shirt...rip it up and put it to a good use finally”
“Can't you find an cheap plastic orange hunting vest anywhere? I think I've seen reverservable Neoprene Dog vest in Cabela's that have the Orange on a side.”
“I just went nuts buying some hiking gear at a Gander Mountain yesterday. My eyes almost shut down when I walked in, what with all the BLAZING ORANGE!!
Here ya go, Buddur. Find the one closest to you and burn your retinas on the BLAZE ORANGE:
Gander Mountain stores in PA.. PICK YOURS”
“"uh... just so ya know.... sometimes deer do wear the blaze orange to confuse the hunters."
Here in Southeastern Pa., they don't have to go to all that trouble.”
Stratdude Is Getting Me A Couple...Thanks Dude!
“I'd sure love to go to check out a Gander Mtn store but unfortunatley I don't want to drive 50 miles for just a $2 item, also I'm vehicleless for the duration and even worse I'm to stay within a certain "district" which doesn't include the GM area, and if I were to mail order I'd pay more for shipping charges than I would the item.”
“np buddur. i think i got most of the blood stains washed out, so i'll send um monday or tues maybe. i thought of another place i have seen them in which is an army surplus store.”
“Put hot PINK on him! It will work just as well!!! LOL”
“Just wrap ol' Buddurdog up in surveyers' tape!”
“Last year about this time I remember several of the radio stations mentioning PETA's efforts to protect deer in PA by tying orange collars on them. Luckily they were not able to capture and collar as many as they had hoped. Almost all the deer that didn't someway remove the collars were harvested because the hunters could spot them miles away even in the densest cover. One station out of Birmingham left a message on PETAís public voice mail asking that they investigate the situation complaining that some sicko had put a hunterís vest on a deer and he had killed the deer to put it out of its misery.”
“Oh great. So anything wearing orange is game now?!
Think we all had better stay inside! lol.”
“I think if PETA wants to protect the deer they should serve as human shields.
True, it wouldn't work, but it would be fun to watch.
Here deerie deerie, here deer!”
“Orange is what we "Swedes" used to wear on St. Patrick's Day in Chicago.”
“Good article bitpusher. The story seemed a little too perfect and quiet farfetched at the time. Then again, PETA never ceases to amaze me.”
“Blaze actually wore more colors than orange, but not for very long.”
“What if you put clothes on that is the same color of a deer?
“.'I'm to stay within a certain "district" '
So what's the deal? You're sending the dog out on a secret mission?”
“You would probably qualify for a Darwin award.”
“That would be great!
“i have a good buddy who recently had his dog (deer colered) come home after a 3 day absence with a big bullet hole in his hind leg. he has healed up, but it goes to show you that people are either stupid, or downright mean...
i'm sending them out today budderbear”
“It's no joke CMB. You'd better make sure you have yer orange on and all your club memebers too. I've seen the area you're hiking this weekend have a hunter every 20 feet! I hope they'll all have gotten their deer by now, for your sake and the club's sake. =)”
“CMB - You would be safer in front of a target on a firing range or walking across the Interstate, than in the woods during hunting season.”
“CMB - Are you seriously taking a group of hikers into the Waterloo-
Pickney area during firearm deer season? IMO, that's irresponsible. I urge you strongly to reconsider.
Even if you wear tons of orange and manage to avoid getting shot, you're gonna pi$$ off a whole bunch of hunters. They only get the woods for 2 weeks a year. Why not go to a State Park where it's safer?”
“In CMB's defense, he didn't set up this trip, someone else did, who's probably never been there or has any idea what it's like in small game season, much less firearm deer season. The stupid rangers should have told them to reschedule the trip.”
Stratdude Pulls Through
“Got ma Blaze Orange bandannas from a sorta-Santa today. Thanks dude.
Just in time for this weekend's jaunt. Fortunately for me, the first day of Buck season is Monday in PA, so I'm sure I'll hear lots of practice shooting but won't have to dodge any bullets.”
“did ya read about da hogs? geesh!”
