OK, so it deals with "those other people"
I see I got this in e-mail Friday. It had been sent to a trail club.

Maybe some people here could pick up and win this sucker!!! :-)

Subject: Backpacker Magazine Award

Dear Outdoor Leader:

To explore is to live; it is part of what makes us human. Backpacker magazine believes that the spirit of exploration is alive and well. To honor that spirit, we are looking for a few good trips to be entered in the new "Backpacker Magazine Editor's Choice Awards."

Do you know of an expedition taken this year that pushed the boundaries of what is possible or showed us something new about the world we live in? Do you know of an expedition that helped bring needed support to an endangered place or an endangered species or one that just plain showed us once again the power of the human spirit?

Give us your nominations for deserving trips by email, phone or fax. The winner, chosen by our well-traveled editorial staff, will be honnored in the April 2003 issue of Backpacker as part of our prestigious "Editor's Choice Awards."

The rules are simple. We are looking for a self-propelled, backcountry expedition taken in the 2002 calendar year within North America that went beyond the ordinary, that taught us something, opened new vistas, or renewed our faith in the human spirit, the strength of will, and importance of kicking up a little trail dust.

Send nominations, tips, or questions to: Jeff Rennicke, jrennicke@aol.com or call 715-779-5595 (same number for faxes) and help us keep the spirit of exploration alive.

Let's Do Their Work For Them
Great...more good ideas for them to use with no reward. Well, maybe for one, just one person.
