Did the NFL do away with the rule against offensive players assisting the runner? I can understand a no-call if he was anywhere near blocking the defender, but he was on the opposite side of the defender with his arms wrapped around Ben and pulling him forward.”

hyway, that is not currently a rule in the NFL, that i've ever heard of anyway...in fact, other players are considered part of the field...for instance if a qb sneaks he can be on top of other players and the play is still considered live...also, the full back running back relationship relies heavily on this

“colts showed they can move the football. all those miscues were almost their undoing, however. a fumble, an interception, a missed field goal, and two turnovers on downs. except for the int, those were not mental errors, and the colts made very few of those. tacklers wrapped up except for a couple of plays (garrard and drew will make ya miss, i dont care who you are), and i believe colts only had one penalty. the defense was more aggressive without getting out of position. garrard was under fire all night. no one will ever mistake the guy for montana, but the d proved they can stop people. special teams play was very good, and the punt team was phenomenal.

run offense was surprisingly ineffective, however. but i think once donald brown figures out the sytem fully, addai will be watching from the bench more often”

Speaking of "sin sin": Has anybody else been watching "Hard Knocks" on HBO? Its a behind the scenes show following the Bengals through the season - starting with arrival at training camp (unless I missed some pre-training camp episodes). Training camp was kind of a more real reality show (its hard to call pro-football the "real world" but it wasn't created just for this TV show) - watching people get cut or assigned to the practice squad. Our cable service was messed up for a while - so they gave us 3 months of free HBO to make up for it. Its going to be hard giving up "Hard Knocks." I think the Bengals will be the team I watch most closely after the Patriots.
