Mildbill, They interviewed Jim Zorn after the game. One of his statements was that 'they (the redskins) learned where they needed to improve tonight'...

HEY ZORN, ISN"T THAT WHAT THE PRESEASON IS FOR?... You have got to be kidding me...

Thank God Hockey is right around the corner...

They have no offense at all, and I hate it when they need 5 yards for a first down and they throw a 3 yard pass.
I have been a Washington fan my whole life, but when the Panthers came about I had to pull for the home team, but deep inside I am still a Washington fan.

What was interesting is that when they 'got rid' of Gibbs, all of the offensive players said that they felt more free. They said that they had no direction under him, that there was no real plan, and they specifically compalined about 3rd down plays always coming up short..

Seems to me that when your QB keeps checking down to alternate receivers on 3rd and 4th downs you will come up short.. Just looked like more of the same last night...

Hopefully if all goes well my Sundays will be filled with hiking and not more of this BS..

what a great first week (well sort of)...the first half of the giants game was a good game...the miami game was great (can't believe i said that)...amazing finish in the san diago/carolina game...forte had an amazing record breaking rooky debut

the colts were way out of sync but we'll get there...at least now we won't have the pressure of being one of the undefeated teams late in the season

chicago looked really good. good running game, improved play at the qb spot, and their defense is healthy. watch out, nfc

colts looked way out of synch, but theyll improve. im predicting a wild-card finish for them this year

I just ordered NFL Sunday Ticket on Direct tv because I couldn't see the Cowboys out here. They were preempted by the 49ers!?

How 'bout them Cowboys?

He did look pretty good, although if Minnesota hadn't waited until the last two minutes to start playing it might have been a different game.
It'll be interesting to see how GB and NE do with their new quarterbacks this year. We'll find out if it's the system and the team or the man.

Denver looked good last night - their offense really seemed to be in synch... of course the Raiders just looked absolutely awful. Next sunday at Invesco will be a bit more challenging (Chargers) so we'll get a look at what we've REALLY got then.

But Cutler looked sharp for sure and Royal was like "OMG where did THAT come from!".

talk about a hollow victory for the colts. they looked terrible, but won the game thanks to some crappy officiating

The Vikings pretty much snatched defeat from the jaws of victory in that one, but you're right: those two non-calls in their last series definitely didn't help.

I can't even remember seeing a NFL team go for two for the win.

come on now...you've got to hand it do the colts D...the vikings had great field position all game and the D kept them out of the end zone...classic colts d, bend but don't break

LOL at chili...when i saw him make that call i said "the mans got balls"...my son, who's two and barely talking, says "got balls"

the first two weeks of this season have been great...lots of last second wins...it's really making me want to get the NFL network

i think it was more poor game management by the vikes, along with a poor first half by tarvaris jackson, than good d by the colts, altho i will credit our secondary. they made some good plays

Waiting for the Direct tv dude to show up. Hopefully, my first game with the new system will be HD Cowboys/Eagles tonight.

It's the last Cowboys/Eagles game in Texas Stadium - the place will be rawkin'!

yeah, Coach Shanahan ain't afraid to take a chance. we really benefitted from the blown call a couple plays prior to the td and two pt conversion, but San Diego had a chance to stop us on 4th and goal too.

The local paper talks about it being a gutsy/ballsy call to go for two, but then they also point out the chance of winning in overtime would likely come down to a 50/50 coin flip. Neither defense was accomplishing much that last quarter.

Football TR
I took a day off work yesterday to wait for the Directv people to show up and hook up my tv & internet. They were supposed to show before noon. Turns out the one guy in this area that can do it couldn't make it in to work, but Directv let on like he was just running a little late. I started screaming at people at 4:00 when I realized it wasn't happening in time for the game.

So my son-in-law & I went to a small pizza joint with a nice tv for the first half. SIL is a HUGE Cowboys homer and I had to find another non-public place to go for the second half before somebody smacked him.

We finished watching the game at a gracious cousin's place, where we spend way too much time. It was a classic! All the sloppiness made it hugely entertaining. And Texas Stadium was rockin'!

HOW 'BOUT THEM COWBOYS!

Think it's time to get back on the phone and chew somebody out...

their D sux when sanders is out. look how bad they were when he missed 12 games 2 seasons ago. if he's not there for run support, 3rd string tailbacks are going for AT LEAST 900 yards every game
