I look forward to football season for 8 months. Now begins the wait for next year. Time to choose a team to root for through the playoffs.” 4:25:14 PM 12/30/07 How 'bout them hawgs! “Cool points to Clinton Portis and Santana Moss leading the way for the Skins to whip some Cowboy butt!!!” 5:29:27 PM 12/30/07 “I hpe they can keep the pace!” 5:32:21 PM 12/30/07 “Living in NC I have to pull for the home team (Panthers) but when I was a kid, I was a big Redskins fan, so deep down inside I still love my Skins.” 5:32:51 PM 12/30/07 “i've said it before and i'll say it again...something bad HAS to happen to the pats, it just has to...i'm a hater, i'll admit it...i just can't stand those buggers and it's not entirely because i'm a colts fan...they just rub me the wrong way” 5:47:45 AM 12/31/07 “holy carp. i just looked at the standings. colts allowed less points than any other team in the league over the course of the season. and you know what they say about defense and super bowls” 6:24:04 AM 12/31/07 “Everybody's got one and they all stink? Or am I mixing that up with something else?” 6:32:15 AM 12/31/07 MMNM “mix martinis, not metaphors last edited: 12/31/07 6:37:09 AM” 6:38:23 AM 12/31/07 “colts allowed less points than any other team in the league over the course of the season. and you know what they say about defense and super bowls” crash bang 10:24:04 AM 12/31/07[i] Sure, but I'd be willing to give up an extra 12 on defense for the extra 139 on offense. Still, the Pats have vulnerabilities and the Colts have some big strengths. Pats lost 1/2 their running game early in the season and you can't count on Maroney to grind out the yards. Welker has been a substitute for a running game, but he's 5' 9" and I'm not sure how he'd hold up if someone tried knocking him on his butt at the start of every play - and the Colts have guys who can do that.” 8:07:51 AM 12/31/07 “when the colts and pats play again, the colts will have marvelous marvin back” 8:35:40 AM 12/31/07 “and you know what they say about defense and super bowls crash bang that didn't exacly apply to us last year, i mean it finally showed up at the end but we didn't have it all season...hope the opposite doesn't happen this year w/ freeny out reggie wayne DESTROYED tennesse yesterday and only played 1.5 quaters...i love how wayne grabs the title for receiving yards but you never hear anything from or about him...he never runs his mouth and never gets in trouble, unlike numbers 2 and 3 on that list...just another thing that makes the colts a great bunch of guys” 10:45:14 AM 12/31/07 “I watched a bit of the Pats game with my bro-n-law who is probably a bigger fan than Crash of the Colts. Anytime someone got near Brady, we both stood to our feet and said "Break his neck." I don't know why Brady has this effect on us, but I seriously would like to see his leg snap in half on the field” 10:54:01 AM 12/31/07 “that's sooo weird WK, i mentioned something to my wife yesterday about brady breaking his leg, now his neck, that's a little much, sadist ;)” 10:55:36 AM 12/31/07 “The brother-in-law said break his neck. I would just like to see him get hit, really hit.” 10:58:35 AM 12/31/07 “...knock the pretty boy right off him” 10:59:34 AM 12/31/07 “Moss got knocked to the ground and had to come out for a few plays. That was fun to see.” 11:02:03 AM 12/31/07 Belichick voted coach of year “how'd we let this go by all day...what a krock...get fined a half a million dollars for CHEATING and then get coach of the year Belichick voted coach of year for second time in four years NEW YORK -- Spygate be damned! Bill Belichick of the unbeaten New England Patriots is The Associated Press 2007 NFL Coach of the Year. With the Patriots motivated by a spying scandal -- and owning the deepest talent base in football -- Belichick guided his team to the first 16-0 regular season in league history. That was enough to offset the major blemish on Belichick's resume: a $500,000 personal fine, $250,000 fine for the team and the loss of a first-round pick in the upcoming draft after the Patriots were caught videotaping New York Jets coaches during the season opener. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3179438” 1:06:14 PM 1/04/08 “Guessing you would have voted for Dungey.” 1:08:39 PM 1/04/08 “probably not, but definitely not belichick...i just don't see how you should get "anything of the year" if you've been caught cheating” 1:11:10 PM 1/04/08 “When you are videotaping the Jets, I don't find it cheating. Now if you are tapping the Colts, then okay.” 1:14:57 PM 1/04/08 “Jack Del Rio gets my vote. The Cowboys new coach has done pretty well too.” 1:25:05 PM 1/04/08 “Jack isn't even the favorite Del Rio. It's always been Dolores for me:)” 1:32:16 PM 1/04/08 “when do they announce the mvp? i'm sure brady gets league mvp and moss gets offensive mvp. i'd really like to see bob sanders get defensive mvp” 4:49:28 PM 1/04/08 “Looks like the Redskins are Deadskins.......................Darn!” 4:42:16 PM 1/05/08 “LOOK at those Steeeeeelers G-O! Defense boys defense...oh damn...nevermind damn a minute and a half to go and the Jags run to the 20...lets blow it at the end morons!” 8:29:15 PM 1/05/08 “OMG this game is killin me.....here we go” 8:33:56 PM 1/05/08 “holy #&%!$, *(&*(&*&$#^@^@^@$*$*&@&@^!^!*!*($@**)@#&@#&^!^&)!^!&!)^*!*(!&)*(” 8:34:47 PM 1/05/08 “WOW sitting in this thread is just like me sitting at home....nobody.” 8:35:51 PM 1/05/08 “JESUS CHRIST!! now a fumble with 20 seconds.” 8:38:11 PM 1/05/08 “thats not good. i'll be rooting for the chargers now, cuz i'd rather the colts face them than the jags” 8:40:28 PM 1/05/08 “who's got the clicker? time for bed” 8:40:38 PM 1/05/08 “Steeler's bit it! Damn! Football season is over!” 8:52:54 PM 1/05/08 “YOUR football season is over. for many of us, it's just beginning” 8:56:49 PM 1/05/08 “LMAO! GO JAGS! THbbbbpt!” 9:44:00 AM 1/06/08 “Brady takes 49 of 50 votes in MVP voting NEW YORK -- For all their achievements, past Most Valuable Players John Unitas, Dan Marino and Joe Montana never had a season like Tom Brady's 2007. Tom Brady rewrote the NFL record book in 2007 and earned all but one MVP vote. The New England Patriots' record-setting quarterback added The Associated Press NFL MVP award Saturday in the same manner his team romped through its schedule, going 16-0. On the way to the first unbeaten regular season since Miami went 14-0 in 1972, Brady put on a performance for the ages, which earned him all but one vote from a nationwide panel of 50 media members who regularly cover the league. "I have always been a huge football fan and will always have great respect for the history of this game," Brady said. "I am flattered to join such an esteemed list of players, many of whom I consider the greatest of all time. I hope that I can set as great of an example for kids around the world as the previous MVPs did for me. "I am grateful to all of the voters for any consideration I was given. It is a tremendous honor and I am sure it is one that my family will one day look back on with great pride." Brady is the first Patriot selected NFL MVP. He drew 49 of the 50 votes from a nationwide panel of media members who regularly cover the NFL. Green Bay quarterback Brett Favre, the only three-time MVP, got the other vote. The eight-year veteran who already has won three Super Bowls helped the Patriots tear through the record books by throwing for 50 touchdowns. He beat Peyton Manning's league mark by one, and also threw 23 of those TD passes to Randy Moss, which lifted the receiver past Jerry Rice's record of 22. New England scored 589 points, another record, as was the Patriots' 75 touchdowns. Brady led the NFL with a 117.2 passer rating -- no, not another record, but close to Manning's 121.1 in 2004. Only one full-time AFC starter, Jacksonville's David Garrard, had fewer than Brady's eight interceptions. And Brady threw 253 more passes than Garrard. Brady also was tops with a 68.9 completion percentage, and his 4,806 yards were 383 more than runner-up Drew Brees of New Orleans. Brady joins a roster of AP MVPs that includes quarterbacks Unitas, Bart Starr, Fran Tarkenton, Marino, Montana, John Elway and Steve Young -- all Hall of Famers. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3182557” 9:50:54 AM 1/06/08 “ ”4:43:25 PM 1/06/08 “looks like colts get a re-match with with the chargers. this time, we'll be at full strength and at home. no contest” 4:50:44 PM 1/06/08 ““when do they announce the mvp? i'm sure brady gets league mvp and moss gets offensive mvp. i'd really like to see bob sanders get defensive mvp” crash bang 8:49:28 PM 1/04/08 Hey Crash, you got your wish. Sanders gets 31 or 50 #1 votes. Well deserved. You were right on Brady - of course, that was almost a lock. I haven't seen the offensive MVP anouncement.” 12:35:33 PM 1/07/08 “sanders shows he deserves to be the highest paid defensive player” 2:08:53 PM 1/07/08 “holy cow. total whiteout in green bay.” 3:51:58 PM 1/12/08 “Seahawks didn't even look like they deserved to be there.” 4:33:27 PM 1/12/08 “7-nuttin jags. wuh-oh!” 5:25:36 PM 1/12/08 “14-14, if the jags can keep up the heat, they may have a chance.” 6:31:41 PM 1/12/08 “So I've been a Colts fan since Georgia *&@$iere took the Rams away from me. The Colts are a great team. They have a few key strengths, but also some weaknesses and some attributes that kinda go both ways depending on the game. I don't think the Chargers have a chance tomorrow. Even though they beat the Colts early in the season it was a funky game (I was there). How do you pick Peyton Manning 6 times and NOT win easy? Adam Vinitieri sucked hard in that game on top of everything else. I think that the Colts have a good chance against the Pats next week. If Marvin is still healthy, or even kinda healthy he will add a dangerous depth at receiver. The Pats are crazy good right now, but I do believe they are beatable. You just have to continue playing tough D at the end of the game. Brady is playing great football, and when Moss choses to play he's pretty insane too. I think the Pats could totally go all the way, but I also think Brady is one injury away from ending the season” 2:53:10 AM 1/13/08 “Brady was 26 for 28 on passing and got 262 yards and threw three TDs. His passer rating was 141.4. And they beat the Jags with Moss only catching, what?, one pass? I don't see anyone beating this team. And how does Brady feel about being 17-0? He was so happy he shyt his pants! ”3:05:43 AM 1/13/08 “ ![]() last edited: 1/13/08 3:46:21 AM” 3:45:12 AM 1/13/08 “just a little over an hour away from the colts defending their lombardi trophy any other year, and theyd be the clear-cut favorite only 3 losses, and all 3 to playoff teams. the first was to the 16-0 patriots, who have apparently made a deal with satan. it was a close game, despite harrison not playing and gonzalez being injured early. the second was to 11-5 san diego. that was another close one, on the road, with nearly half our starters missing. the third loss was to the titans, a meaningless game in which the starters played sparingly. so the colts werent that far from a perfect season themselves. they should handle the chargers pretty good, setting up another afc title game nailbiter. good stuff woot!” 8:48:17 AM 1/13/08 “Uh oh! Looks like SD has a good chance to come out ahead. last edited: 1/13/08 1:07:44 PM” 1:07:10 PM 1/13/08 Jump to Page << prev
