The Cowboys will take care of the Packers next week.

They'd better, cause they have no shot in Lambeau in January!

I almost can't complain about being a vikings fan any more. Not when the worst pass rank defense puts up the best numbers in the league. And we have the best rush defense and offense in the league, putting us only one game out of the wild card race.

Patriots - Eagles

Third play of the game and its already looking like Globetrotters - Generals. Asante Samuel interception, off to the races!

Some gutsy play by the Eagles - hanging in there much better than I thought after that first interception.

Less than 8 mins left in the game, Eagles lead the "Greatest Team in NFL History" by four points....

Eagles backup QB had a heckuva night. Started and ended the game with INT's. In between, he was great. So...who had the Pats to win by 23?

So if you shut down Randy Moss, the Pats look beatable. Good luck to the next team trying that.

Globetrotters - Generals? Just saw that comment...ped, exhibiting typical New England arrogance. ;)

I'm just glad it was a good game. But it sure would have been fun to see that last drive chew up the clock and culminate in a score.

Go Jaguars!

Wow, can the Panthers suck any more than they already are? LOL!

THe new light rail system opened in Charlotte this weekend. Quite a few game-goers used ti to get to and from the stadium.

Isn't that kind of over-blown rhetoric part of the fun of rooting on a team? It sure did look like the Pats were going to blow them away at that point. I was glad it was a good game, and was glad I picked up a little portable B&W TV to watch while hanging out in the "on call" room at the Hospital.

Only way to beat the Pats is to control the clock and keep their defense on the field. Brady has to many weapons on offense.

Knock Brady out of the game would be the other option.

David, it sure did look like it at that point? I think that was the third play of the game!

Sure, overblown rhetoric is part of the fun, and so is coming back later to remind someone of what they said when it didn't exactly turn out that way. ;) (And you did note the wink in my prior post as well, right?)

something bad has to happed to the Pats, it just has to...too much good has happened to them...undefeated, won their division, got an extremely one sided trade for moss, a mere slap on the wrist for cheating, and they said at the beginning of last nights game that they were the healthiest team in the league

How is losing a first round draft choice and a fine a slap on the wrist for taking video of the opponents bench from the wrong place? Remember its totally legal to take the video with a full zoom from many other places on the field?

I'm sure there was some benefit to taking the film from ground level directly across the field, but it can't be that huge.

The 500K fine was not a slap in the face.

Compared to a first round draft choice, half a million ain't much - it's the draft choice that hurts.

the half a mil fine was to the coach, not the team. im betting he doesnt think thats a slap on the wrist. i guarantee if "professional" players started getting fined like that for some of their shenanigans, thered be more sportsmanlike conduct in pro ball

You're right Crash 1/2 million is real money for Bellichek - it's over 10% of his salary for this year.

The team was only fined 250,000 - peanuts for an NFL team (I was thinking they were also fined 500,000).

How 'bout those Steelers!?

I howled with laughter when Miami missed a field goal, but had a penalty and decided, why not go for it on 4th and 11? The Steelers drove the rookie QB's head about 6" into the soggy turf.

that's assuming bellicheck actually paid it out of his pocket and not the team...i wouldn't be surprised at all if the team paid it for him...yea, they lost a first round pick but they still have another one...not like they need either of them

Longest nonscoring game since 1943! I loved when Miami punted the football and it stuck in the muck! Those grounds crew should be fired and the head guy should be drawn and quartered!

I still Love Joey Porter!! I know salary cap and all that but we should have kept him.

The punt sticking in the mud was about the funniest thing I've EVER seen in the NFL.

Don't kill the grounds crew - they didn't order all the rain. Kill the scheduleing fools that had 4 (or 5?) high school games AND a Pitt game in the same week just before a Monday Night Football game. that was dumb scheduling.

I was reading an article that said that when Pitt went to start practicing in the spring the hash marks and lines were still on the field from the last game in January. So basically nothing had been done on the off season to make the field better. I'd like to hire the grounds crew from PNC park where the Pirates play.

I agree with you about the scheduling.
