“The more I think about it, the more convinced I am that Belichek is not trying to run up the score. I think he wants to be sure the team gets used to playing flat out for four quarters. Every game so far has been a blow out and a few games back he saw the team taking the second half off. The risk of blowing everyone out in the first half and cruising game after game is you end up getting clocked when you find yourself in a game that is close.

It's possible Belichek is trying to give the commish and everyone else an FU. I don't think he cares enough about what other people think and feel to risk injuries to key players and risk giving all his opponents extra motivation for future years just to make other people feel badly.

Its possible that if the Pats beat the Colts decisively, that he will use future blow-outs as an opportunity to protect key players and give some subs more work. However, he is a worrier - he seems very focused on seeing what could go wrong and preventing it, so he might just keep worrying about being ready for teams like Pittsburgh down the line.”

Lower Merion police reported that an individual attempted to "egg" Andy Reid's house last night.
The report stated; An empty egg carton was recovered at the scene. Three eggs went over his house and hit his neighbor's back d oor, four eggs hit the houses of each of his next-door neighbors, and the remaining eggs were found broken on the ground near the carton from where the individual threw them. I'm with John -- I used to think Simmons got too much grief -- but #&%!$ him in his Summer Meadow scented cooter. I think a couple of the calls against the Pats were questionable, and so were a lot of other calls this weekend and every weekend in the history of the NFL. You don't rack up 146 yards in penalties solely because the refs #&%!$ed you.
