Because then Cleveland would want one” 8:04:03 PM 10/09/04 “The Giants spank the southern Okalahoma Cowgirls and the Steelers have their way with the Browns. Woo Hoo! It’s a great day in the NFL.” 3:55:53 PM 10/10/04 “Phead, what do expect out of a team who's origanal mascot was a fairy? And they ain't called the Browns for nothing. Naming a team the color of shlt is a bad way to start a team.” 4:07:29 PM 10/10/04 “Deadskins tonight!!!! I wanna see them kick the crap outta the Ravens!!!” 4:26:43 PM 10/10/04 “COLTS!” 9:56:53 PM 10/10/04 “I would like to thank the Suckskins for once again, making me feel like I'm back in Bills country. I was getting a little homesick.” 10:28:22 AM 10/11/04 “Views from Pluto: Browns get spanked in Pittsburgh BY TERRY PLUTO Knight Ridder Newspapers PITTSBURGH - (KRT) - Scribbles in my notebook while watching the Browns get spanked, 34-23, in Pittsburgh. ... _ Does it bother you that the offense doesn't seem any different now than in the preseason? Or the opener? Or last week? Or how about the fact the offense has yet to score a touchdown in the first half this season? _ Does it seem a bit strange that there has been so little talk about the inept offensive line? Jeff Garcia has been sacked 13 times so far, which projects to at least 40 for the season. He's never been sacked more than 26 times in a season - welcome to Cleveland, Jeff. _ As for those sacks, it's getting worse - 10 in the past three games for Garcia. _ The Browns' best lineman (tackle Ryan Tucker) has been hurt for the past three games. Guard Kelvin Garmon seems to block reasonably well on the run, but not on the pass. They can't decide between Enoch DeMar and Paul Zukauskas at the other guard. And left tackle Ross Verba is best suited for guard. _ Third-round (2002) pick Melvin Fowler rarely sees any action on the offensive line, and he was drafted as the center of the future. Starting center and 2003 top pick Jeff Faine has had some trouble with Garcia on snaps, although at least some of that blame must go to Garcia. _ Don't you have a feeling that Ben Roethlisberger will be giving the Browns nightmares for the next 5-10 years? The Steelers have a quarterback of the present and future. Meanwhile, the 34-year-old Garcia obviously is a short-term fix for the Browns. _ Here's a strange statistic: Butch Davis is 1-7 vs. the Steelers while Chris Palmer was 2-2. _ Give William Green credit for not complaining and continuing to run hard while it seems the coaches are moving him behind Lee Suggs at tailback. Green carried the ball three times for 27 yards, Suggs was held to 30 yards in 11 carries. _ Just a thought, how about a few plays each game with Suggs and Green together in the backfield? Can't be any worse. _ Quincy Morgan caught one pass for 15 yards. He's started all five games this season and has a grand total of eight catches. Not exactly what the Browns pictured when they made him their second-round pick 2001. _ Nice to see Garcia start to develop a little chemistry with Andre Davis, who caught five passes for 101 yards. He has 15 catches this season and he's averaging 21 yards per catch. _ The Browns have been dismal on kickoff returns most of the season. Dee Brown averaged only 15 yards on five returns on Sunday. Why not try Dennis Northcutt on kick returns? The Browns keep saying teams punt the ball in places that Northcutt can't return with much room to run. Let's see what would happen on kickoffs. _ How bad was the Browns' running attack? Garcia was the leading rusher with 41 yards on eight carries. Never a good sign when your quarterback is your top ground gainer. _ Here's something to think about through all the Steeler gloom: If the Browns win a home game against the Cincinnati Bengals next week, they'll be a respectable 3-3. The Bengals are struggling at 1-3. ---” 2:54:12 PM 10/11/04 “The Eagles had a bye week. What a waste!” 3:27:32 PM 10/11/04 “We be only game behind 'em, Geo!” 3:33:49 PM 10/11/04 “GO VIKES!” 5:44:01 PM 10/11/04 “How 'bout dem Cowboys???? ha... Go Big Blue!!!!!” 5:46:58 PM 10/11/04 “No joke, WLD. What a great game this weekend for them. Culpepper having 5 TD's. Rockin'. :)” 5:47:29 PM 10/11/04 “I know, tree. I'm quaking in my boots. It's my Philly Quaker heritage coming out!” 5:55:34 PM 10/11/04 “Looks like the Titans have pulled their heads out of their asses. They looked good and Green Bay's defense helped. Now if the Falcons can get their offense together, I'm gonna have a great year.” 12:35:28 AM 10/12/04 Green Bay “My,Oh My, Green Bay is not doing so well. Poor Brett Farve is going to have to carry this team again this year. Their defense looks worse than the Vikes, and that is saying something, since I have endured terrible defensive play from my beloved Vikes for years now.” 6:10:48 PM 10/12/04 “The Vikes got something goin' on, the Packers on the other hand.... And I wouldn't get too excited about the Titans yet, but they should be o.k. this week. Did you see the Chargers' powder blue uniform? Did somebody decide there had to be a uniform more gay than Tennessee's? And I'll still take my Cowboys over Pittsburgh in a clash of mediocrity on the home field.” 8:02:46 PM 10/12/04 “Thank you GOD for Sunday Ticket!” 1:23:03 PM 10/14/04 “I feel like I should pray for the Panthers.” 1:24:51 PM 10/14/04 ““I feel like I should pray for the Panthers.” Ghoulbeet 1:24:51 PM 10/14/04 And the Packers, Bears, Cowboys, Cardinels, Forty Niners and especially Miami... The Dolphins are going through some incredible things this season. It will either tear them apart or form them together like concrete. Eitherway, the Coaching staff should probably pack thier bags.” 12:04:16 PM 10/15/04 “I'll pray for those teams when the Eagles play them. I can only handle one at a time.” 12:37:30 PM 10/15/04 “The Steelers play the hated cowpukes this weekend. I would trade every other game for the rest of the season for this one. I hope they crush them like bugs.” 12:40:10 PM 10/15/04 “It all depends on which Steelers and which Cowboys show up to play. I doubt the Steelers or the Cowboys crush anybody like bugs this year.” 2:04:11 PM 10/15/04 “If the Stealers are playing the Plowboys, I'll root for the Pittsburglars. Mama, don't let your cowboys grow up to be babies ...” 2:41:01 PM 10/15/04 “My favorite team is whoever is playing the Cowboys.” 2:42:38 PM 10/15/04 “i seriously am in love with the vikings. if i could, i'd marry them.” 11:35:10 PM 10/17/04 “yam, you'd have a lifetime supply of well-built cabana boys.” 8:47:26 AM 10/18/04 “yam, could you really tackle that?” 8:49:04 AM 10/18/04 “mmmmmmmm. oh yeah, it could be done. : )” 9:59:36 AM 10/18/04 “COWBOYS SUCK!!! AAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!” 12:31:06 PM 10/18/04 “I'm trying to remember what it was like when my NFL team lost a game.” 1:19:25 PM 10/18/04 “It's probably the opposite of what it's like when my pro-baseball team beat the Yankees in the playoffs, or when my college team (UT) beats OU.” 1:20:48 PM 10/18/04 Painting of bearmagnent “ Hey yam, How you doin? last edited: 10/18/04 1:24:25 PM” 1:23:36 PM 10/18/04 “Although we are winning and winning on the Road (a new concept for us Vikings fans) And Pep is playing at a level that probably surprises himself. Our defense is horrible. We have talent, we have speed, but we still play defense poorly. Offence fills the seats, but defense wins the rings. Maybe our new defense coah is not all that and a bag of chips. Maybe it is time for a new scheme.” 3:54:11 PM 10/18/04 “By the way, that was a pretty good game between the Cowboys and the Steelers. YAM, you go girl! Vikes ROCK!” 3:55:58 PM 10/18/04 “So... who else is going to watch my Bucs get their butts kicked tonight?” 3:57:04 PM 10/18/04 “bearmagnet--hubba hubba! WLD, you're right, the Vikings' defense is definately lacking. But that's nothing new. :/ artex, i'll watch them lose......and drink to it. : )” 4:05:17 PM 10/18/04 “Dear Titans; Who's your daddy? The Texans” 4:32:33 PM 10/18/04 “Lito Sheppard had a MOST beautiful run back of an interception for a TD yesterday. It ought to be replayed over and over tonight. He ran about 45 yards and then STOPPED (dead) and waited for his blockers. It was like a plow train going down the Schukyll the way his blockers cleared the way. He then pranced the last 20 yards into the endzone. I mean he STOPPED, had a smoke, coupla shots then proceeded.” 4:38:23 PM 10/18/04 We all know who the best team is “Da PATS. 20 in a row and going for the all time record regular season games. Next weekend with the Jets will be the game of the year.” 4:49:04 PM 10/18/04 “Go Skins & Bills! All they have to do now is when the rest of there games and they might have a chance to come in second at the Superbowl!” 4:52:57 PM 10/18/04 “griz, you're just being silly now. ; )” 5:05:33 PM 10/18/04 “when might equal win and bear might need an MRI.....mebbee a CAT Scan? last edited: 10/18/04 5:08:35 PM” 5:07:13 PM 10/18/04 “Somebody please take the crack away from this guy?” 5:29:43 PM 10/18/04 Yam, Check out this guys shirt. “ ![]() last edited: 10/18/04 5:44:18 PM” 5:38:58 PM 10/18/04 “I have a shirt just like that! It doesn't have the red "X", but it is all white though.” 5:47:29 PM 10/18/04 “You see a red "x"????” 6:07:17 PM 10/18/04 “Wow, i didn't realize that there were so many vikings fans... or you're all jumping on the bandwagon, either way, GO VIKINGS!” 7:06:41 PM 10/18/04 “If I have learned anything from the 60's and 70's it is NEVER love the Vikings. Like them, yes. Love them, no. They'll never break your heart like the Red Sox, but it's not for lack of trying. Just give 'em time.” 7:28:09 PM 10/18/04 “Then, of course, there is that word "defense" that they seem to know nothing about.” 7:29:30 PM 10/18/04 “I gotta say I am often times impressed with Dante Culpepper. Seems every year he has a couple monster games. Last weekend, he had, what, 5 touchdowns and some 445 yards passing or so?” 5:36:55 AM 10/19/04 Jump to Page << prev
