Vroooooooooom, vroooooooooom “Yup, this is NOT the week to be in the Black Hills. Sturgis, man, IT'S STURGIS!!!! LOL..... I kinda was going through an interview process with a paper that printed what must be considered the Sturgis.... errrrrr... visitor's guide. I took a good look through it and learned things I'd never known before. LOL!! yeah, about BIKES, of course!!!” 10:46:01 PM 8/08/02 “I was there while Bike week was going on one year. It's not that bad at all.” 10:56:35 PM 8/08/02 “delayed trips suck...ive only done 1 trip this summer and the rest have been....delayed-actually,fires and heat and other crap!!” 10:57:04 PM 8/08/02 “It's going to be about another month and a half till I'll be on the trail again. My last trip was back in the middle of May. Summer is delaying my backpacking.” 11:03:07 PM 8/08/02 “Dang, I thought I posted a link! Let me try again Sturgis No, I fibbed when I said I delayed a trip. hehhee...just embelliishing, like David Letterman might, to make a point. I am, however, debating a trip to one of the following in the next couple months: SW Utah (seen a $100 roundtrip airfare to Vegas last week of Aug with a 4-day stay) Colorado Rockies Black Hills and/or southern Black Hills, Pine Ridge Reservation and NW Nebraska (Fort Robinson) I wrote to someone on the geocaching site about Soldier Creek Wilderness near Fort Robinson (he had placed a cache so far into the area, he figured it would taking around 5 hours hiking to find it). Was told it was really hot. There was a fire there a few years back and things haven't yet grown up to give shade. This guy wouldn't recommend it and said to visit the nearby Pine Ridge Recreation Area near Chadron instead. Walkindude, so Sturgis didn't screw things up too bad? I suppose if a person's off packing it wouldn't. But I've heard, like the article says, that traffic backs up a hundred miles away. WILD!!” 11:29:57 PM 8/08/02 “Stopped in the Black Hills on a return trip from Colorado before I knew about Sturgis. We were surprised by all the bikes, but as walkingdude said it was fine. Still remember a guy wearing a "Hell's Angel's" vest standing speachless in front of the four faces.” 11:30:30 PM 8/08/02 “Traffic wasn't backed up at all.” 10:33:53 PM 8/09/02 “Hills everywhere are black, if you stay long enough.” 11:49:26 PM 8/09/02
