On my solo overnight to Yellow River State Forest (trip report elsewhere PLUS a trip coming up there!), well, no one was around there and only 2 people had any clue where I was should I have an accident (and that was just that I was in the forest -- not WHERE in the forest) I was especially careful on downhills, like the one place I took the trail and not the road. I had visions of hyperextending a knee in a fall (and it just seems that would happen easier going downhill). I was very careful -- for ME! I mean, at the backpacker's free registration area, they did not even have the registration forms out yet, just maps for the winter ski and snowmobile trails. That kinda freaked me from the get go.
