Trees around here nearing peak color. Very beautiful. After a cold snap at the end of last week, should be back in the 60's this week.” 5:03:47 AM 10/19/09 “Good morning. Yesterday morning and this morning were almost sweater or sweatshirt mornings. It feels good. --Singing: "Carry me back to Minnesota!"-- Sunrise was delayed by cloud bank over the ocean. They looked just like a distant row of mountains. I've only seen this phenomenon once previously. I was driving on a level road northward in eastern Ohio towards the northern border. This mountain range appeared ahead of me. As I drove closer I tried to locate the pass through the mountains. Even closer I tried to locate a road switchbacking up the mountain range. But, finally, I could see that it was just a large cloud bank in the distance. So I discovered how God does it! He does not make mountains, he just moves them. Enjoy your day. last edited: 10/19/09 6:36:37 AM” 6:35:27 AM 10/19/09 “It was upper 30's in North Mississippi when I went out to get the paper. I traded in shorts for fleece this morning.” 7:01:22 AM 10/19/09 “I think we're getting our Indian Summer this week. High of 64° today, 68° tomorrow. Lovely. =)” 5:05:47 AM 10/20/09 “Good morning, it's warm here too and forecast to stay that way right into the weekend. It looks like a good day to take the bike out for a ride.” 5:47:08 AM 10/20/09 “There wasn't a cloud in the sky this morning. It is still cool in the morning, but we warm up to the high 60's by mid afternoon.” 6:25:42 AM 10/20/09 “Home with a sick girl today. Luckily, she is sleeping again. I should be too. Looks like a nice day outside. We'll experience it later when E heads to the doc. I hear the truck out picking up leaves out of the street - better not wake up my girl!!” 6:54:22 AM 10/20/09 “beautiful colors here in maine...went camping over the long Columbus Day weekend - had an extra day due to state shutdowns - yay! It was nice and crisp out, even snowed, which was awesome...” 9:58:48 AM 10/20/09 “waving hello....” 5:21:42 PM 10/20/09 “Evie has the flu. Not sure if its H1N1 or regular stuff. Going back to the doc this AM to get her started on meds. Rough night last night - I got less than 3 hours of sleep, since she slept on me and I listened to make sure she was breathing all night. I'm not sure I've been that scared, since I had her. G already took the day off, and I was going to go in, but she really only wants me and I can't teach on 3 hours of sleep! Please say prayers she gets better quickly.” 3:38:27 AM 10/21/09 “Get better, little Evie. We went to our Brownies mtg. the other night. Halfway through I found out the 3 other adult leaders were just now getting over H1N1; now we're effing guaranteed to get sick. I wish I'd been alerted ahead of time. They spent most of the mtg. coughing and hacking.” 4:41:58 AM 10/21/09 “Are you kidding me?! Nice. Brownies isn't important enough to make the whole troop sick. Amy, I hope Evie's Dr has something that helps her feel better quickly and you all can get some rest today. Make sure you take care of you so you don't end up sick too! I have a Dr's apt today too. 26 weeks. Started having contractions Monday so I'm anxious to see if I get to continue work. Keep your fingers crossed for me. You all have a good day!” 5:21:18 AM 10/21/09 “Oh geez, Sass. GOood luck with that.” 5:31:30 AM 10/21/09 “Stay strong, Sass.” 6:45:53 AM 10/21/09 “It's not that bad. All is okay. Got my sigar test and have an ultrasound apt to see if this kid is abnormally huge (Birch weighed 12.9 at birth), and just have to take it easy.” 10:30:37 AM 10/21/09 “what a day. did not get any sleep last night. poor little susie the dog was sick. had to rush her to vet this morning. they upped her meds I love this dog but boy she costs a lot but worth it!!” 10:36:22 AM 10/21/09 “Good afternoon. Good luck everyone. Get some sleep and stay healthy.” 11:28:51 AM 10/21/09 “Good Morning.....I'll keep ya'll in prayer today!!!! hugs to all...” 3:06:57 AM 10/22/09 “Morning, everyone. Looks like a warm, clear, sunny day on tap for today. Maybe I'll take a few minutes to absorb some UV today, and get some vitamin D going. I could use it. :) Laurel's had a multitude of aptitude tests at school; some say she scores well above average, others says she's dead average and doesn't qualify for any "talented" programs. Make up your damn minds, people.” 3:37:22 AM 10/22/09 “At that age, I have problems with the term "average". Its going to be wet in N Mississippi again today but hopefully clearing for the weekend.” 3:52:00 AM 10/22/09 “Looks like we'll get some rain Saturday around here. I hope HPM stays dry this weekend. He's hiking with a few other peeps. Chili, they already have her figuring 3-D shapes and how to cut out and assemble the right shape and size of pieces of paper COLD. Very little instruction ahead of time. Her school (this is only it's second year) scored very low on third grade state aptitude tests, so they're cramming in as much as possible in second grade. I'm scrambling to help her assimilate even half of what she's told during the day. The teacher can't dwell on any one subject for more than a day or two before moving on to some other requirement. It sucks.” 4:29:58 AM 10/22/09 “Today is "Crazy Hair Day" at Laurel's school; hers is now a large, frightening mass of pink and blue streaks, and loads of glossy black hair spray, as well as a healthy dose of glitter. Well, yes, it is over the top. Hers! Bwah-hah-hah! Sorry, this has been a Friday moment. Laurel's at school, HPM's backpacking for the weekend, and nice weather for most of the day. The window is open, the birds and crickets are singing, and the coffee is excellent!” 4:23:29 AM 10/23/09 “Everyday is bad hair day where I work.” 4:56:43 AM 10/23/09 “Good morning, I hope everyone that isn't feeling well gets better soon. I read in our local paper that the H1N1 is going through the schools around here. The hospitals changed their visitation policies and only 2 immediate family members are allowed in and no kids under 12. I'm having lung surgery next week, my CT scan showed 3 lung nodules, 2 on the left lung and 1 on the right. My thoracic surgeon said since the chemo didn't work the best thing for me is to remove them. The plan is to remove the two on the left lung first and then 6 weeks later remove the nodule on the right lung. Even though lung surgery is no picnic, I'm happy that he agreed to do it. I told him I rode my bike 1500 miles this summer on the lung he worked on last year so he knows I do pretty well with surgery instead of trying to poison the nodules with chemo.” 6:24:11 AM 10/23/09 “Dang RichB, you are hardcore. Good luck with the surgery.” 6:28:34 AM 10/23/09 “ditto.” 7:35:16 AM 10/23/09 RichB “You're just incredible.” 8:14:32 AM 10/23/09 “Stay strong, RichB.” 9:39:22 AM 10/23/09 “Surgery is the best way to get cancer. I'm glad it's an option for you Rich. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers. I hope your recovery will be speedy.” 6:54:15 PM 10/23/09 “Rain rain rain, and now I have to get Laurel to a library in an iffy area of town. Lovely.” 5:53:50 AM 10/24/09 “Prayers for you, RichB. Bathroom cleaned, one load of laundry done, every doornknob, drawer pull, and lightswitch in my house is disenfected, toothbrushes boiled...time to clean & disinfect the kitchen. Maybe I'll go get donuts first. :) E and G are STILL asleep, which I am thankful for. E really needs it. I did sleep with her almost all night, and I'm surprised she's still asleep without someone in there. We'll carve pumpkins today, and "practice" trick or treating. Poor E is so bored at home, its time to spice things up for her today. G and I are tired of Dora and Diego too. Have a great weekend, everyone! last edited: 10/24/09 6:32:42 AM” 6:29:45 AM 10/24/09 “Good morning, thanks. I had the same surgery in 2007 and 2008 so I know what to expect. This time I'm in better shape from riding my bike this year so that should help. The surgeon is excellent too. Last time he did such a great job, I was out hiking again 6 days after the surgery. I had to stay an extra day in the hospital because my lung was leaking, but normally it's only a 2 day hospital stay because they use video assisted surgery. They do everything with a scope and 2 inch incisions to avoid cutting the chest open. It's still painful, but nothing like it would be if they had to make a 10 inch incision and spread the ribs like they used to. It's warm here, but raining out. I might take a short hike just to get out for a little while.” 7:21:14 AM 10/24/09 “Morning everyone. It's a Monday all right. ;P” 5:18:45 AM 10/26/09 “Good Morning! Halloween week, woot!” 5:42:57 AM 10/26/09 “Good morning. I went swimming at a new site of our physical fitness organization yesterday. I had been told that the swimming pool was much larger. Ours has only three lanes and we usually have to double up in each lane. This new one had only one more lane, but it had a special, separate pool. Half of it was for the little kids and the other half was for adults. The adult side is six feet deep. I will be going to the Univ. of Florida Hospital, probably on Nov. 4th. I'll be having some cauterization work. I'm getting closer to being accepted in their Heart Stemcell Experiment. last edited: 10/26/09 5:46:21 AM” 5:44:38 AM 10/26/09 “To hell with Halloween, it's payday week:)” 5:54:02 AM 10/26/09 “Have you been all moody and #&%!$y the last few days? Does the feeling come once a month? If so, you could be having PMS (Premoney syndrome)” 6:12:42 AM 10/26/09 “Good luck, Rich!” 7:31:07 AM 10/26/09 “lol @ Hyway. Yeah...I have premoney syndrome. I hate having to wait until the 1st of the month for a paycheck! Every two weeks is much preferred.” 7:40:43 AM 10/26/09 “Nowslimmer, good luck with the cauterization procedure. It's getting nice outside, sun is out and it's supposed to be 60 later. Looks like a good day for a bike ride. I went hiking yesterday. The trees are past peak, but there were some areas with good color.” 9:05:12 AM 10/26/09 “Been up since 5, wanna go back to bed....coffee didn't wake me up, just gave me the warm fuzzies.” 3:31:19 AM 10/27/09 “Pitch Black when I woke up this morning and it was still dark when I arrived at work. When the heck do the clocks fall back.” 4:26:31 AM 10/27/09 “This weekend, HtH. If I'm outside this morning, I'm okay. As soon as I go back inside, I'm falling asleep. Ugh.” 4:32:34 AM 10/27/09 “Saturday night right? Working in B's class today, have a massage apt for ME at 1, and I think I'll rake leaves like crazy before both. I can't believe how fast they're coming down! You guys have a fabulous day.” 4:52:48 AM 10/27/09 “Good morning. Thanks RichB.” 7:48:55 AM 10/27/09 “Raining, cool...PERFECT Fleece weather” 7:53:08 AM 10/27/09 “theXL400 - Right on! I'm wearing double-fleece right now. However, it is a little warm for Florida, but just right for this A/C-ed room.” 7:59:20 AM 10/27/09 “LOL...I love fleece time, I intentionally keep my house cool in the winter so I can stroll around in a fleece jacket (feels kinda relaxing).” 8:01:00 AM 10/27/09 “I got an email last week giving instructions on how to reset our handheld devices used by the techs. Of course I didn't read the memo. I got up Sunday and starting resetting the clocks telling NGB that the time had changed. About 5 times she said "are you sure". I replied "of course I am sure, a memo came out this week in regard to our handhelds". Later in the afternoon, for what seemd the umpteenth time, NGB questioned me again about the change. I said "google it if you don't believe me"........ Monday, I decided to read the memo to find out how our corporate geeks could have messed up on when time chages. Of course it said to recalibrate anytime after 3 AM on November 1 but before the start of the business day on November 2. ....I guess I really should read the memos when they come out.” 8:14:09 AM 10/27/09 “Which way do I reset my watch, forward or backward one hour!” 8:36:42 AM 10/27/09 Jump to Page << prev
