My friend loves rabbits more than she loves most people. Nyeah nyeah. >:P” 8:32:59 AM 7/14/09 “That's funny, With my mother it would be cats that she loves more than people.” 8:46:40 AM 7/14/09 “tb, use a coke bottle instead. Fill the 2L bottle with water, cap, shoot, enjoy the show. Granted, it works best with high powered rifles that have been reloaded just a tad hot.” 8:50:41 AM 7/14/09 “I was thinking cans of spam or corned beef, to help get the point across.” 9:14:23 AM 7/14/09 “That's my girl:)” 9:18:19 AM 7/14/09 “OH MAN! I can get a silicone brain mold, and make jell-o brains for target practice! That would be vile! I'd probably get in trouble at the range, though. That mess would draw animals I'm sure. Yes, it's an outdoor range. The weird part is when there's no firing going on it's nothing but lots of songbirds.” 9:24:42 AM 7/14/09 “As you know, shooting ranges up here are called 'back yards'” 9:30:56 AM 7/14/09 “Not around here anymore. Too developed.” 10:08:33 AM 7/14/09 “I could shoot out my front yard and generally not hit anyone. Every now and then someone does drive by.” 10:23:30 AM 7/14/09 “Nimble....what is a reasonable number?” 10:33:44 AM 7/14/09 “I said 'reasonable' number in order to leave it to TB's discretion. I have no idea how many people she'd have to shoot in order to switch her imagery to exploding melons. Knowing her only from posting on here, I'd have to say quite a few.” 11:09:24 AM 7/14/09 “A reasonable number in rocky mount would be astronomical. Too many people around here that need help kicking that nasty oxygen habit.” 11:14:15 AM 7/14/09 “There was this girl in high school that lived down a dirt road next to a gravel pit. Her nickname was rocky mount.” 11:17:13 AM 7/14/09 “I could shoot out my front yard and generally not hit anyone. Every now and then someone does drive by. Numblefeet You must be a lousy shot, pops.” 11:25:09 AM 7/14/09 “I knew someone would pick up on that and, had a pretty good idea it would be you.” 11:42:20 AM 7/14/09 “Good Morning!!! ...I'm up and awake...sorta...” 5:39:06 AM 7/15/09 “Sort of good morning here, too. I compressed something in my left ankle last night, and the throbbing and jolts of pain kept waking me up. Vitamin I didn't help much. It's a little better this morning though, and I'm grateful for that. I'm staying off of my foot as much as possible though, and I am going to wear my hiking boots nice and snug instead of sandals today, to help keep things in line. What concerns me the most it this feels just like carpal tunnel syndrome. Is there tarsal tunnel syndrome?” 6:36:08 AM 7/15/09 “No. You have numbness in three of your toes? Is it pain or numbness?” 8:00:17 PM 7/15/09 “What happens is a sharp pain just in front of and below the ankle bone, followed by a series of cascading twitches throughout that part of the foot, then back to a sharp jab that turns into a fuzzy burn. The pain is now gone since I got back in to my hiking boots yesterday. It only occurs after wearing my new(er) Teva sandals. Dangit. I had a really cool set of sandal tan lines going this year. ;P Had yet another blowup in my side of the family last night. Inconsiderate so and so's. The whole thing left Laurel out in the lurch, too. That's what sucks the most. I really can't spell in the mornings. last edited: 7/16/09 5:22:37 AM” 5:41:54 AM 7/16/09 “Well, I'm having a great day! Ate something bad at Applebee's, last night, I guess. Did attempt to get to my haircut appt, but quickly realized I should be away from a bathroom for any amount of time today. Popping the pepto tables. Yummy. Another nice day here. Hope to enjoy it later.” 10:01:23 AM 7/16/09 “Had that happen recently too, SG. You have my sympathy. Clove tea, regular Coke by the spoonful, or sipping very, very cold water help the nausea. As far as the "other end," kaopectate works wonders, unless you just want to finish purging it all. Other than that, keeping the ac nice and cold helps, too.” 10:11:50 AM 7/16/09 “Hmmm. You could have some tendinitis or nosis going or pinched nerves Treebait. Sounds like you need an MRI girl! Hope it gets better and you can get back into your sandals soon. Vitamin I!! Gotta love food poisoning. My fav is imodium AD pills. Applebees sucks, so does IHOP!!” 7:35:16 PM 7/16/09 “ok..I'm up...no if it would rain!!!! hope ya'll get to feeling better!!!” 5:11:13 AM 7/17/09 “Had to drop off the car at the shop this am at 7:30, walked home 8 blocks and have made pancakes w/ fresh black raspberries all over them. Not a bad way to start the day. It's grey and cool, highs in the mid 70s today in MI. =) I get to stay home and poke around all day. Have some lawn mowing, ironing, and weeding to do.” 5:49:33 AM 7/17/09 “Low 50's here with a high of 65. Great July!” 6:47:30 AM 7/17/09 “Laurel comes home today. :) Guess I'd better finish cleaning her room and bathroom before she gets here. :O Either way, she's going to have a fit at all the stuff that's disappeared from her room.” 6:58:19 AM 7/18/09 “...up & went to the farmers market....found a cherry pie...yummmm..... ...ya'll have a GREAT day!!!!” 7:41:38 AM 7/18/09 “Got up at 7 am and mowed the lawn. Now it's time to do some work.” 8:10:07 AM 7/18/09 “I went to the farmer's market today too. Got 4 zucchini for a $1, blueberries, snap peas, green beans, and cherries. Froze the blueberries, and peas from my garden. Good eating tonight! My in-laws have decided to stay up here an extra day (as usual) and my parents are coming tomorrow for the day. I'm about to go on parent overload!” 11:48:53 AM 7/18/09 “Good Morning!!!...... ...cool here in Ohio....in the 50s... ...hot, strong coffee..... ...birds singing..... ...& quiet....” 5:35:23 AM 7/19/09 “Warm here in S.E. NC, already in the 70's and cloudy.” 6:52:37 AM 7/19/09 “We should hit the 70's today and a little sunshine to boot. We've had lows in the lower 50's and highs in the mid-60's for the past few days. Uncharacteristically cool for this time of year. We have had some rain and my gardens (and the weeds) are quite happy:)” 8:15:22 AM 7/19/09 “It's been cooler here, too. I don't mind a bit. I do wish we'd get more rain, though. My yard's turning back into a brick.” 9:18:20 AM 7/19/09 “It was forecasted to hit a record low this morning, but I have not seen the report today. Giz and I slept with the camper-cover closed front and back - side windows open. I haven't done that since April. What a reprieve from the heat!” 10:16:29 AM 7/19/09 “Just checked my cute little weather system...Our low here last night/ early this morning was 63. Very nice. It's about 80 outside right now. What stinks is I have to put out the sprinklers this afternoon/ evening. It's bone dry. My yard already turned into a brick.” 10:27:21 AM 7/19/09 “Wow, highs in the low 80's, low's around 60's over the weekend. We haven't had that kind of weather since early May. It was awesome. I actually took the kids to the park Sat morning and didn't melt. That's normally a spring/fall thing to do.” 5:23:16 AM 7/20/09 “48 this morning with a predicted high of 77. Pretty much perfect. I froze peas and carrots yesterday, and then picked more peas. Lots to do. If I do this right, I'll be harvesting and re-planting until October.” 5:27:50 AM 7/20/09 “Good Morning!!!...a beautiful day in Ohio!!!!....” 5:19:22 AM 7/21/09 “Good Morning!!!.... ...went to Columbus yesterday and saw my nephew and his wife's newborn daughter...she is beautiful!!!!!... ...a cloudy day today.....maybe we will get some rain!!! ...counting down the days when I return to Alabama.... ...wondering a few things.....like...will I be able to tolerate the heat?...will I be lost without my granddaughter??....will I be happy to go back to work???.....will I be replaced with a girlfriend who doesn't stay away for months at a time???.... ya'll have a GREAT day!!!!!” 6:25:37 AM 7/22/09 “will I be happy to go back to work I suspect I may know th answer to that one...” 6:31:56 AM 7/22/09 “Good morning, it's supposed to get hotter and more humid as the week goes on. Yesterday was cool out and I wish it would stay that way. I had an esophagus dilation yesterday. I don't know how well it'll work yet since it's all swollen and likely to stay that way for several days. I'm going backpacking this weekend. It'll be great to get out.” 7:06:01 AM 7/22/09 “I'm looking forward to getting out too. It's been since April for us! I picked up some new prepared "in a pouch" pasta w/ meat entrees while grocery shopping today. Will see how they taste in a few weeks. We're still unseasonably cool and I love it. Have run the A/C one day this summer. And I still have beautiful lettuces in the garden. Usually they'd have bolted weeks ago. RichB, I've been gifted about twenty pounds of Lake Trout and Salmon. =) You have any favorite trout recipes? I found a honey mustard trout online will try Friday. Also a trout boil for a dinner party, (supposed to make it taste like lobster?), but I don't think I want to share. Bought some cedar planks for the salmon today. Our standby for that is ginger, maple syrup and grilled on cedar. Can't be beat, imo. SG, how's that thyroid treating you lately?” 6:53:25 PM 7/22/09 “Sass, when did you plant your lettuce? Mine bolted a month ago.” 7:01:38 PM 7/22/09 “My lettuce is still growing strong. I'm waiting on beans to get bigger. Thyroid is shrunk to nothing, and I'm feeling better and better. Yesterday was not my best day, but I've been busy cleaning out closets and riding my bike, so I must be feeling better. I go back to the doc Aug. 3rd so we'll see what's up then. I'm curious how quickly I'll go toward the hypo state.” 7:20:15 PM 7/22/09 “Nimble, way back before Mother's day. It did nothing forever. It's a mix. It's just been so cool here that everything is growing slowly, but it's all producing great fruits. My spinach has bolted though.” 4:10:09 AM 7/23/09 “Yes, it was the spinach that bolted, the lettuce has barely popped up. Other things are doing better. I should check the ph some day. Ever do a cold frame? I'm thinking of giving it a try. I've got two full length glass doors to use.” 4:30:43 AM 7/23/09 “The deer ravaged the garden here at my brother's a few weeks ago. Nothing much left but tomatoes, squash, peppers, and okra. Two-thirds of the garden spot has already been mowed under - as if eight acres of mowing wasn't already enough.” 4:45:28 AM 7/23/09 “Morning all.....I have a new love/intrest....crocheting doileys....you remember the ones on your GrandMother's couch?...next I want to learn how to tat!!!! ...RichB...have a GREAT time backpacking!!!! ...SG...glad to hear you are feeling better!!! ...Sass...I'm coming for dinner...& send me the recipe for your banana bread in a can!!!...sounds fun!!! & I hope you are feeling well!!! ...we have not heard from Nowslimmer in awhile..... ...going to visit my mother's cousin this afternoon...he is in his 90's...going to get some family info...wooo hoooo!!! ..my son in laws lettuce bolted too!!!” 6:43:43 AM 7/23/09 “Good morning, Looks like a nice day so far, but we might get rain later. I'm not going anywhere today anyway. I developed a fever yesterday afternoon. It ended last night, but I'm still not 100%. I'm thinking it came from the swelling in my neck from the esophagus dilation or maybe the hundreds of nasty pimples all over me from the chemo drugs. I'm still planning on going backpacking as long as it doesn't come back by Saturday morning. Sass, I don't have any trout recipes since I don't eat fish. I just catch them for fun with barbless hooks and release them. Sounds like you have the makings for a good fish dinner with all that. Divinity, that's so cool crafting the doileys.” 7:04:48 AM 7/23/09 “Div - Didja ever crochet a doiley for someone's crotch dilly? :)” 7:09:51 AM 7/23/09 Jump to Page << prev
