Morning! Today's our anniversary - though we're not doing much to celebrate. Technically I can kiss my hubby again, but still can't sleep in the same bed! I'm leaving today anyway since Evie's coming home today. What a bummer of an anniversary!

My heart rate was near 100 last night, so I'm about to call the doc to see what I can do for that. I feel like crap today. Hoping this is the worst of it.

Hot today too, not good for my heat intolerance. Ha!

Treebait, I read some pretty icky reviews of the type of humor in the new Transformers. I don't get why movie companies make a movie based on toys and create it for older kids and adults?!

Mr Foot, I concur! I'm headed to Seattle tomorrow where the temps won't top 71° while we're there. Looking forward to it!!

I've been concerned about Transformers too. Reece is dying to see it. A co-worker found a review that said people were calling women bit's and pus's but with the whole word. That's a deal breaker for us. I dodged a bullet watching it in the theatres adn the kids were too young to turn around and ask what the "m" word meant. They're 2 years older now, I won't be so lucky a second time. I'll forward the review to both of you.

Sounds like a good trip, Sass. Tell Birch "howdy" for us!

Laurel's trip to a new dentist didn't go so well. The cleaning was only partially completed because she was afraid of them, so she got that, a good brushing and flossing, and the fluoride treatment. She also needs a surprising amount of work done. I looked at the digital x-rays, and yikes, her mouth needs some work. 3 teeth pulled, steel crowns, more sealant, fillings...So much for thinking she was doing well with her brushing. Her dental schedule now goes into the next year, because she'll max out how much insurance will cover. This sucks.

Reece would have been 7 and Emma 5. I think we just started talking to them and getting their attention. It was very uncomfortable. I think it would still be awkward if they were old enough to understand what it meant, but at least at that point you've had the talk. The getting exposed to stuff before they're supposed to is tough.

That's what we do for that part of the first movie, DH. Distract her away form the movie during that scene.

Aside from that naughty bit, it's a hilarious scene.

I agree, TB. There seems to be lots of disgust about sex in our culture but little about violence. Then again, I don't like to hear women referred as b'ts or pus'ys either, but I'm old:)

You want Laurel to ask you what masturbation is at this point?

My parents were so afraid of anything sexual that I could never talk to them. Instead I ended up telling it to the priest in confession. First he told me to sleep with my hands above the covers. My bedroom was upstairs in a house only heated with wood on the main floor, so it definitely didn't work in the winter. Next he had me tie my right hand to the bedpost, which resulted in a very high level of ambidexterity. This is to say nothing of all the Our Father's, Glory Be's and Hail Mary's I ended up saying. Now, for some strange reason, I feel compelled to have all my partners cover me up with the bedspread and tie my hand to the bed post before anything else happens. Oh well, whatever works.

My comments are less about the particular topic of masturbation and more about the general subject of sexual jargon w.r.t. 1-3 grade kids.

Nimble - that reminds me of the scene in Basic Instinct where Michael Douglas is talking to a shrink and he thinks she's about to ask him about to his childhood. He says something like, "Well, if you want to know how much I jerked off as a kid, well I don't know, but it was alot."

Good morning, Glad to hear the good news with Trevor. SG get well soon. I remember having a high heart rate like that when I was anemic and it was no fun if you start to get palpitations.

I had my chemo on Thursday and it went well. I'll feel some side effects probably starting tomorrow when the steroid wears off. I had an esophagus dilation yesterday and so far it seems improved so I'm eating a little easier. I hope it gets better as the swelling goes down. This time we'll give it a month to heal and see what we've got then before determining if another is needed. He said he opened up to a 57 which was the limit for the tool he used. I'm not sure if that meant 57mm and I wish I asked, but was a little loopy from the drugs and forgot.

I went fly fishing Wednesday and caught a bunch of nice size brook trout. I'm taking my road bike out for a ride today since the weather looks good. The roads are really a mess around here for riding. Pot holes and cracked pavement all near the side on the road where a bike should be. It's really kind of dangerous if you are going fast coming down a hill and hit something like that. They don't seem to be getting out there to fix them either because the townships just don't have the money.

57mm = a little over 2" Does that sound about the the size of an esophogus?

Good morning, it's starting out nice, but we might get some rain later. Nothing new there and it seems like we get rain each day. I had a nice ride bike ride yesterday and the longest one yet my new bike, 46 miles with 2067 feet of climbing.

Dayhiker, I didn't realize how big 57mm is so it wouldn't be that wide. They must use a different scale of measurement for the tool they use. A normal esophagus is between 1 and 1.5 inches wide. My doctor told me one reason the stricture keeps closing besides the radiation stenosis is that he's not stretching esophagus tissue, but tissue from skin grafts from my leg in 2006 and my arm last January so that tissue isn't as pliable. Where the stricture is really isn't my esophagus since that was shortened, the upper sphincter removed along with my throat. What's in there now is just a patchwork of skin grafts and as they heal they shrink making the problem even worse. Last year it took 12 of these dilations just to get it to stay open for 3 months. I'm up to number 5 this year.

Dilations generally don't hurt, but are a PITA just going for them. It's an all day affair to have it done since they do it in the OR.

Same thing happened when they delivered the lumber for my deck. I also had to get a variance for the load limit on my road. They were restricted to coming in from only one direction - the one that would do the least damage to the shortest distance of the road - naturally they drove in from the other. The good news is that when they arrived I was struggling with breaking up a large chunk of concrete with an air hammer (is that a word?). I traded my old ford truck that wouldn't run anymore for him to remove the concrete slab with his forklift. A win win situation. He also brought me a case of beer when he picked up the truck:)
