Aw that sucks, Sass. Poor doggy.

My in-laws may or may not already be up in Charlotte by now. They said they'd let us know. Well after the fact by the look of things. Hope they don't mind the pans of rodent poison in their front closet and in the kitchen. Bleah, mousey droppings everywhere.

I'm done! Its over! I don't have to go back! School's out!!

Thank GOD. I cried from 11-4:30 today. Kids were horrible today, had to say goodbye to several people who have become good friends, and some who have really helped me have a successful year. Of course, its not helping that my thyroid is working OT again and feels like its about to burst out of my neck. I have a pretty constant sore throat from it. Few more days, and the fun with that begins.

I hope E sleeps in tomorrow.

Bavarian Fest is this weekend, so I'm focusing on time with friends and my family again. We just got home from the carnival. E REALLY liked the big slide with the burlap sack. She cried "do it again". Unfortunatly, we weren't going to pay another $6 to do it again.

Sleepy time, more fun tomorrow.

We'll be gone for our carnival this year. I'm not so sad about it. Much rather be in Seattle!

It's looking like rain here. Another good lazy morning. I believe there will be some chocolate chip pancakes with mulberries and whipped cream in our immediate future!

Found a vet who comes to the house to do the big E. I'm going to give him a call at 9. =(

Good Morning divinity! have a great summer with your granddaughter! i'm so jealous, i wish my granddaughter was here in san diego. she can pull herself up now and stand! she can say Da Da! and a host of other things i won't bore you with.

i'm packing the last of the stuff to go off to my summer camp job. beaches are colder than mountains during the summer so i'm stopping at REI on the way down there and looking for a few long underwear shirts to wear underneath my uniform. they have the stuff online; i hope they have it in the store!

Oh My Gosh, i have to teach two classes to the staff! i'm a little nervous about that. i've taught plenty of outdoor skills to boys and girls before, but never counseling, ACK! the other class should be pretty straight forward, i'm just teaching the troop guides what i expect from them.

I'm off to work today @ the hospital. I had a busy weekend. Yesterday I had a $200 day. Paid for the expenses of the day prior w/ the dog. (Sigh).

Going to be 80° and sunny today. I'll be done w/ work in plenty of time to enjoy it.

Lol Dayhiker!

Laurel's off at girl scout day camp. She seemed sort of lost this morning, with all these noisy girls around. She just looked around for a while, even after we met up with some girls from her troop. Thankfully they're in the same group. One of the other girls grabbed Laurel by the hand, saying "you're sure acting like you're still asleep! C'mon, I'll show you where we get our shirts and where our group meets!" Thank God. That other little girl is a born leader. She has tons of charisma.

Enjoying my first day off. Its beautiful outside, and we've spent a nice day together as a family.

I scheduled the radioactive iodine for next Monday. They wanted me to be off meds for a full week, but I negoitiated down to 3 days. I'm guessing I won't function too well once the meds stop.

In the meantime, I need to prepare my house and husband - 7 days without mom doing stuff around here is a long time!

Going to put Evie down for a nap, and them I'm headed back outside to read a book. :))

Abby and I are headed downtown to Children's hospital to sit with a little girl being observed for seizures and play games. Her mom is one of the wives from the Unit Joe serves in and has no one to help her out and give her a break. Not looking forward to finding my way around in the hospital and wishing she was at the one I work at! But I am looking forward to playing Apples to Apples Jr. =)

Finding Darwin's God. My pastor gave it to me as I've found myself in the middle of a town-wide evolution debate. Twilight is also on my must-read list for next week.

We went to Dow Gardens today - it was a nice day. We picnicked, played in the children's garden and generally had a good time.

Tomorrow, maybe the Children's museum. Its going to rain tomorrow. :(

Morning, Everyone.Lordy, the week's almost over already. Laurel's enjoying the heck out of day camp. She wants to do more. :) Sunday, I think, she goes back to HPM's parent's fixer-upper for a little while. Then, at the end of the month, on to Florida. I'm thinking of trying to get her to Cape Canaveral for the July 11th (12th?) shuttle liftoff. That would be very cool. We shall see.
It's going to be around 91 here today. 96 tomorrow. Yuckers. I'd rather be in Wyoming, I think. Nice and cool there right now.

Good morning, another rainy day here. Nothing new and lots of rain for the past month. It's been good for fishing with the streams up. Not so good for bike riding since I won't ride in the rain, but it cleared up enough to dry the roads so I was able to get out.

I start chemo back up today after being off for three weeks. My blood infection is over and the blood test came back negative. Time to get back to business of trying to get rid on the cancer now. My esophagus dilation didn't work the last time. No improvement at all so we'll do another next week.

I'm done with my anti-thyroid meds. Took my last one this morning. THey wanted me off for 1 week before the iodine treatment, but I told them 3 would be plenty for me. HOpefully I'll sleep well tonight. Been having night sweats even on the meds, think I'll just sleep next to a fan tonight.

Iodine is scheduled for Monday. Sunday I'll say goodbye to my daughter for 7 days.

Thanks SG and Divinity. SG, I hope they can get your thyroid back on track with the treament. Divinity, sounds like you need a good rest.

Today is a rare dry day lately, so I'm taking my bike out for a ride later. I had chemo yesterday and it went well. The steroid is keeping the side effects away for now, but when it wears off later Saturday, I'll start feeling them. The home nurse is coming soon to fill out the discharge papers. I'm glad that will be over with.

Looks like a rainy weekend or at least all of Saturday. That might ruin the fishing. With all this rain lately they might get washed into the Atlantic by then.

Whew, a night of constant t-storms last night. I think we've had enough rain for awhile. A week w/out would be good. I need to figure out an overflow system for my rain barrels and get some trash cans or something to catch more rain. I probably could have filled ten barrels this week.

We're off in a few hours for Camp Grayling. I'm looking forward to getting away from this house so much! And having more people around to entertain Abby. That girl is wearing me out lately. She's pretty much attached to my side since her daddy left. This short break is just what the dr. ordered!

Ug, I'm finally feeling the effects of no thyroid meds. I'm EXHAUSTED today. Like, sit on the floor and just not bother to get up exhausted. Like, can't pick up my daughter exhausted. Gathering the energy to shower seems too much right now. Ug. Tomorrow I take the "nuke" stuff.

Oh, it's a monday all right. Already had a cat fight (Little Bit versus Smoky) that resulted in the mouse here getting soaked with an iced coffee. I had to disassemble it and clean it out. I've already cut my hand on something, so that blood made a mess. I stepped on something really sharp when I went out to feed the koi.

I'm not touching the washer or dryer today. They might break.

Thinking good thoughts for SG.

I'm radioactive! We got out the tape measure at home, and luckily G and I have places in the living room 7 feet apart. I feel just fine, and the nurse assured me I should continue to fell well as my thyroid dies off.

G and I have been trying to figure out why I won't get any radiation burns, why there's no higher incidence of cancer from this, yet he can't be within 7 feet of me. Our scientific minds are curious.

Joy, how was your weekend?

Lol SG! I had to go back and read that again!

Years ago, my parents' neighbor tore apart an old wood pile on their property line, close to my parents' house. 2 baby rats cam in the dog door to the porch, and scuttled into the breezeway where we were all sitting. Spider the cat caught one rat, and my other cat Earl caught the other one. He wouldn't give it up, and I had to chase Earl, with the baby rat in his mouth, all over the house. I had a hard time because I was laughing so hard at my mom's screaming about the rodents. The baby rats were cute, too.

SG, people get radiation burns because they're receiving the radiation via a beam through their skin. You are taking it orally so it won't affect your skin (and be glad because those burns can be horrible and the skin that doesn't even get burned is different for life).

The weekend was good. I'm officially exhausted. Too much driving for a day and a half up north. I don't even have the energy to get anything for dinner so I ate cereal. Abby's at a friend's house thank goodness.
Now I just have to go transfer clothes into the dryer and I can collapse on the couch.

Morning. I'm not quite sure how I'm feeling today. Was nauseous last night and this morning, but I think I'm finally feeling better with that. Called the doc, he said it wasn't due to the RAI, but I think it was. Anyway, I'm starting to feel hunger, so that's a good sign. I'm shaking like crazy today which is a sign of overactive thyroid - must be the gland releasing the extra hormone that its been storing. Sure would like for they thyroid to shrink some, I often have a sore throat or feel like I'm choking.

My baby is great - she's having a good time at Grandma's house. We switch places tomorrow. Hopefully I can drive myself up there.

Hope everyone is doing well this very warm Tuesday morning.

Not me! I got all the business done yesterday. It's gonna be HOT today, high of 94°. Glad I mowed the lawn yesterday!!

I am finishing packing, getting a massage, buying new toenail polish and applying it and maybe turning on the A/C if I can't stand it. But my plan is just to wear little, keep the house closed up and drink cool drinks. =)

You all have a good day!

We hit 100 yesterday. Not good for an Anglo who lives comfortably in the 40's and 50's.

Morning everyone. I've got Laurel ready for a trip to yet another new dentist this morning. I hate flip flopping because of insurance changes. It's going to be around 90 today, with lower humidity. That should make it bearable. Laurel caught an ad for the new Transformers movie this morning, dangit. Now I'm hearing nothing but "I wanna go!" It's going to be really loud, and pretty scary for her. Now she loves the first movie a lot, but I've heard about the kind of humor (think juvie males) in it.
